This was really fun to watch. In my experience the prepper/off-grid people I've met have actually been really interesting and not crazy at all. Just normal people who like to use and test their skills to survive without all the crap we've come to rely on. I wish I was able to build things and have the electrical know-how to maintain alternate power systems. And imagine -- these people have almost no monthly bills?

Nate and Kara never fail to deliver. Great people, they wisk me away to a ton of out of the way places that I'll never be able to visit and make me enjoy it. Truly blessed!
Considering some people already live there, prior to any apocalypse, they should probably set up some community center with maybe something like Trees or another to make it feel homey until the end happens. That way they can use that space for growing and fresh canned food.
I buy 4 large Frosty's at a time (the interior size of my cooler) and put them in the freezer when I get home. That'll usually last me from 3-4 weeks. It's just not worth it to drive 1.5 hours round-trip to the Wendy's otherwise. And if you HAVE SOMETHING you don't *CRAVE* it, so that sense of wanting it goes away.

I'm from SD and I have been to these bunkers when I was young because my brother lived near them in a very small town and took us there. I so miss the wide open sky! Living in Mississippi with all the trees there's no open sky. 😞
I'm relatively sure that those buildings were originally designed to not wholly contain an internal blast, rather to keep it from spreading laterally to the next structure. Essentially, the pressure of the blast was intended to shoot upward. Although these structures would offer a greater deal of safety than an average home, they are unlikely to be as strong as suggested in the video. The whole community aspect of the thing is interesting however, and it looks like the target market for such a neighborhood would figure out how to defend themselves from the filthy remnants of humanity that are sure to become roving bands of fallout pirates bent on attacking.
Look at some of the vetting questions. In a "shit hit the fan" scenario, they think beauticians and RELIGIONS are going to help them pull through. Preppers are mentally insane. If "the world as we know it" ends, this is not where civilization will go to rebuild itself.

@@ifihadfriends437 several things have to be calculated, like a ventilation system and light exposure (we need a certain minimum dose of sunlight or a lamp that reproduces sunlight well to have a healthy organism without vitamin deficiencies), but it sounds like a very interesting scenario of if you think, an underground city created from bunkers interconnected by tunnels. I’m a beginner emergency prepper and this video was definitely cool to watch. I’d love to have a bunker for my loved ones one day. And for those who are curious about the preparedness community and why we prepare it’s because prepping is like having an insurance policy. We have car insurance for car accidents and health insurance for hospital visits. We hope we don’t have those emergencies but if we do, we have coverage. The same for prepping. And these past couple of years have given everyone plenty of examples of how likely and suddenly disaster can strike: whether it’s a natural disaster, social unrest, power grid going down, inflation/failing economy, supply chain disruptions, cyber attacks, international tensions, etc or even you losing your job…. It is always best to be prepared for you and your family with basic living essentials: food, water, shelter, security/self-defense, energy, warmth, hygiene, first aid, etc..!!
I think if they want to ensure that it's safe for fallout protection they should add underground tunnels connecting the seperate bunkers so it's safer.
