It's one of my favorite things right now! :D It hurts to see the screen cracked and touchscreen going wacky when I touch it... but glad it still works, where it matters. ;)

What’s the dimensions of the screen? I’m trying to make a custom screen protector

Blogger, Hackrf H2M Portapack, where did you buy it from? Can you provide a purchase link? thanks☺️

I received it as a gift, but did hear the portapack itself is by Hamgeek (can't confirm that at all since I didn't buy it, but heard it). I think they used a slightly different screen from others. Just a theory.

oh damn.... I think it's time for a case redux. Why are we restricting ourselves with the plastic that surrounds such a great tool''''...... honestly, I am bewildered, slightly shocked that seeing all the developments for a device like the flipper, that we don't see similar customizations being applied towards adding additional functionality to he HRF Porta Pack.... why after fully knowing the sensitivity and limitations of the amp- why can't there be a solution that isn't just be careful...... or why couldn't a form factor be created where the limitations of the HRF being only single tx or rx...why could there not be a way to "stack" multiple boards to be able to have full dplex..increase bandwidth and speed at which the spectrum can be scanned. .. Yeah, sure they can be daisy chained from the bottom but tat now takes away from the whole porta part being portable. Why we arent seeeing usbc and usb 3 implimented?i Why are we still fiddling arround with the sd slot being too large and loosing sd cards within the case? btw don't do the hot gllue hack for the sd card..(from the wiki)..i wrecked my sd card slot's abillity to lock in te card and had to permanently lock the sd card in place... Why, on a device meant to be portable, do we have large extruding input components, the rotary dial, the butons...so many times have i pulled out my hackrf portapack where it is turned on and in a functionality that makes me pray that it didn't actually do what it could have done... the dangers of spoofing airtraffic as im walking, doing so unknowingly, where the device is being shifted from side to side in my backpack...
I gotta say though- props to the many and all that have developed and refined the software side of things. Amazing work. Maybe let us have the ability's to run things in te background?i Thinking capturing packets for extended periods or activities such as wardriving...or just being able to passively collect signals while the device is in my bag without it actually being on....
Just the hardware side of things...don't get me wrong....curently is almost perfect for what it is....but, maybe there are a few items on the table that could see a fix or improvement.... let me attach on another hackrf just like the portapack does...so that we can have full duplex or incrrease speed

On the amp thing, there actually is an open source hardware revision of hackrf that reduces risk to amplifier. It's called the Clifford Heath revision, and you can find it out places like ali (I want to try to get one someday to try it).

Hahaa I know *exactly* what you mean on the button turning it on... there should be a clever 'lock combo' of buttons to prevent this, or some kind of cover - actually saw someone post a picture of a knob / dial cover, preventing theirs from turning on.
Something big enough (like a small cap for a bottle maybe), could also be 'taped' to the dial as a temp measure for traveling discretely, to both cover dial, and prevent it from turning on, if you know what I mean. ;)

That’s what happens with these enthusiast types, they know nothing about UI/UX or design.

will a case sold for portapack h2 fit an h2m? i cant find any clear ones on ebay but they have metal for h2

    • @RTPTechTips
      @RTPTechTips  12 дней назад

No. This is what happened to me. I found out only later that H2M (at least the one I have), has slightly wider screen. :'( And the seller even told me it would fit all models... they must not have been familiar with this particular build... but you know how that goes.
I would be cautious and very careful to ensure fins do not push screen sides. Wishing you better luck than I had.

@@RTPTechTips you are a lifesaver. Thank you for saving me the trouble. Can't seem to find any h2m cases outside of AliExpress and none of my Ali orders go through so I am open to suggestions on where to look.
      Thanks again. Good looking out.

I know the H2M screen I bought is slightly wider, as I compared after getting the H2. Unfortunately I didn't get the H2 for that comparison until after my H2M screen cracked.
There could be other "H2M" screen printed portapacks... since factories all over seem to be cranking them out. Some could make design changes as mayhem page warns.

@@RTPTechTips oh that's a good point I didn't consider. At least I know to measure and be certain it fits correctly before tightening it all together. I appreciate your time and for the PSA (portapack service announcement).
