Definitely read more often on people harming the rx end. But from all I've read, ppl blow (less often) built in tx amp, from what I hear as well. Some discussion: github.com/greatscottgadgets/hackrf/issues/974
I’ve tried this with an cheap PMR 446 walkie-talkie and it worked just like in the video. It would be interesting to know how much power the hack rf has compared to an walkie talkie or hand held radio. Maybe an idea for a future video: test the range of it. Of course it depends on the frequency and antenna.
I was actually thinking just that. Something I planned to test out, with additional hardware tests for more range I have been holding onto for this. Really glad to hear this video helped you mirror the app! :)

Only over amplified Rx can cause damage. Tx power will not damage, since it is transmitting, not receiving.

There is a saying, that the cheapest walkie-talkie kids toy is running circles around a HackRF or Pluto, when it comes to signal strength.
@@goiterlanternbase haha sounds bout right!
@@RTPTechTips Afair the Swiss dude with the hat, mentioned it🤗
@@goiterlanternbase Love that guy!! 😄
Great video
Thank you. Really appreciate your feedback!
Does this work if radio has ctcs or similar codes enabled?
I'd imagine so, but haven't looked
Is this version of the hach RF/porta pack H2 the signature edition, and if so would you say that version is the best to-date.
This one is a portapack H2M from Hamgeek and the hackrf itself was found separately and is R9 version.
Might cover more in future... 🙂 Thanks for watching!
The usb port flexing in the laptop 💀☠️
Good eye there! The rtl-sdr got a bit bent in my travels LOL
