Sometimes installing requires a command, but normally there is a graphical option for installing most apps. if interested in less commandline i2p, there is I2P+ I've done some videos on that. All managed inside web browser, with added features / optimization. If not familiar with it, debian has an amazing selection of .deb files (if your system is debian based). Can always add new sources for graphical package managers too, to add access without using commandline. The problem is, most Linux systems do not always come with those graphical frontends for installation, and other common commandline options.

I want to, haven't justified making that purchase (just yet), since already had 2 portapack + hackrf. Eventually I hope to get one! They do look pretty darn kewl! 😀 📡

If card is not showing up: likely missing firmware. Trisquel doesn't come with some firmware, especially blob related. Search for firmware and try installing some of linux-firmware / atheros firmware related packages, then see if a reboot helps.

I hear you. There are certainly better options for some things. I've found it affordable, it works, nice and portable, and that's good enough for me atm. Eventually really would like to get a bladeRF.

There is a possibility the latest kernel is not compatible w/prior wifi firmware. One thing I would try is booting to the previous kernel. It may still exist on your grub menu. See if that helps.

@@SsunSsetSsurfer Sure thing. I bet it will work if you still have the option to boot to the previous working wifi kernel. This happens at times with new kernel upgrades. And if option for previous kernel version is not on grub, you can always reinstall it, and try it that way.

@@SsunSsetSsurfer You also might want to look up your wifi card chip to see if others are posting similar problems on forums, and how they may have fixed it.

😁 There is a neat website called bet.i2p where ppl put xmr on the line. Heard from someone who actually won, once. I want to explore more of the network, and do another video once I gather very interesting sites for all.

Ah I mostly make my own probiotics as well! Kefir here (hence already having the brewing container). Maybe I'll do some videos on this for biohacking playlist. I make a mean probiotic grape soda.

You can build it however you want, keeping all hosted locally is ideal. Javascript w/be left up to browser. Visitors may need to enable javascript (if disabled). With i2p+ https page cert is self signed and the warning is expected because of this - IF you are at the 127.0.0.1 address. Does it install shortcut to your desktop? I'm not sure how macOS is set up, so just wondering if it puts it in the right place. For most part, scripting is compatible, as long as the locations are same as on Linux (mac is based on BSD). You can also test the script / watch what it is doing by opening terminal, and then cd into location where Desktop shortcut is, then bash -x ./i2p.desktop The -x will print out each execution line / response.

@ I’ve not actually used the script as wanted to set it up manually and learn along the way, but tbh I’m happy enough with the setup not automatically opening Mullvad, as long as safari doesn’t open which it doesn’t now 😂 so I’m all good just playing around for now! :)

@@RTPTechTips Yes, I read about I2P on its official websites (on normalweb and i2pweb) and watch your videos, thanks. It's a big disadvantage to have a small user base and lack of sources.

Best to start with extendable antenna. The reason to go with extendable antenna is you will have ability to change legnth. Any radio related videos on antenna tuning will also work for the hackrf / portapack, could start watching any of those as a suggestion, for learning about antenna length.

You might like to opt to specify 100, 150, 200. But really, up to you. Mine is only accessible on LAN.

There are definite drawbacks on Signal - I only use it for family personally. Then again Session has its own drawback in not having perfect secrecy forwarding. But it does route everything through its own onion network, without having to mess with settings.

Possible to fry anything with enough power, but not as likely with low power device like this.

Absolutely. I may once in a while change length dependent on priorities / other tunnels as well. Neat i2p offers the option.

This one was actually given to me as a gift so unfortunately not 100% sure. But you can find this portapack under H2M. There is a newer one out now that looks great called H4M. Best way to find reliable / compatible ones are checking mayhem firmware wiki where they share links to recommended ones: github.com/portapack-mayhem/mayhem-firmware/releases

Guess that all depends. I don't see it as a problem for myself. And you can always copy and paste a link into another browser if Tor isn't working for you. One thing is, bridges definitely slow down tor. So if speed is the priority, direct connection to Tor is faster (many use bridges, others add additional layers like VPN, slowing tor down). The point in this video is to prevent someone from trying to either exploit or deanonymize you in secure messengers / on platforms, by avoiding direct connection - by setting default browser to tor.

Session doesn't use perfect forward secrecy which can be a problem And is crypto incentive Cwtch lacks user base I think it's a good alternative and can be self hosted,but it might be problematic in the long term if funding isn't met Or the user base grows. Matrix also lacks perfect forward secrecy. You can just use meshtastic which is working on bettering their encryption I am unaware of the rest . I think simpleX has addressed some of issues cwitch brought up and will roll out next year And I think they solve the phone number issue that people complained about with Signal, It's better to just get people off outdated and insecure SMS . Even Googles messenger has e2e and Whatsapp, which put signals protocol in it. I just think from a security standpoint it's better to be away from SMS in general.

TBH I rarely use messengers overall and haven't tried all of those. Usually answer comments within day or 2 when I get a moment as I'm usually catching up on something else when I first see them. Will be covering messenger related recommendations as I get time to put towards it. Thing is, there are so many variables / differences within those various messengers that the question can be a complex one to answer clearly, but do plan to cover / share some of my thoughts on messengers in coming content. Thanks for the comment / suggestion.
