    From what I've heard the prices are significantly different largely because of the component used and the tolerances of them. It would be good to see a side by side comparison of the original and clone to compare accuracy and stability.

      but yeah, always funny how you can pick up heritage from accent.. I can also very clearly pick out danish descents from certain channels when talking in English.

    Hi I have the original hackrf board and the Portapack H2. I have issues with the display so I flashed the latest version of mayhem 1.5.1. It started for a while but then was out again. Now the big NXP chip on the hackrf is getting worm to hot and I can´t see the hackrf. Any ideas how I can unbrick the hackrf? if that is even possible.... Thank you

    So is the PortaPack and HackRF One the same thing? just the PortaPack has a display and is knock off version? I'm confused why some people are saying they are using their PortaPack with the HackRF One if it's the same thing.

    • @therfnoob7697
      @therfnoob7697  Месяц назад

      hi! The portapack is a shield on top of the HackRF. It is a shield that provides a monitor, some headphone, input buttons, etc. When people talk about the Portapack usually they implicitly mean PortaPack+HackRF.
      The hackRF by itself is a board that looks a bit like an arduino, without screen, buttons, etc.

Some videos like listening to walkie-talkies, opening cars with captured signals from keyfob etc, just for fun, i dont mean anything illegal. I think that the video would be interesting to know what capacities HackRF One have!

      hi! thanks for the nice comment.
      Sure I will do more about the HackRF! The applications of the HackRF you mentioned are cool indeed.
      But at the moment I am working towards using the HackRF in conjunction with an amplifier to receive/transmit on the HamRadio bands, across the world! This is why in most of my videos I am looking with the spectrum analyzer at the HackRF: i want to produce clean signals and not noise (because it's annoying to others, and also illegal). It will take some time but I hope to do it :)

      @@endrittahiri6643 I think I bought (from your last link) Boundle 3, for 148usd: PortaPack + Telescopic antenna + USB cable.
      In Boundle 4 (151usd) you get an additional antenna for 700-2700 Mhz (it depends if you plan to use those frequencies, but for just 3usd it seems good!)
      In boundle 5 (155usd) you don't get the 700-2700 Mhz antenna but rather a 35dbi antenna for GSM/3G/4G (note, dbi is a unit of measurement of gains of antennas, not of cables). Again, if you plan to do stuff on the GSM/3G/4G, this is a good choice!
      Finally, in boundle 6 (175usd), you get many kinds of antennas and also the TXCO (10Mhz very accurate clock) which is very important if you want to do some experiments with GSM, for example.
      So, all in all, it depends on which frequencies you plan to have fun with! Remember that in most cases you can buy these antennas separately later on (free shipping is often available in Aliexpress). So no need to buy all at once at the beginning :) If you are just starting, I would maybe just buy the Boundle 3 (like mine) and use the spare 3-6usd to buy something else useful (for example, one BNC/SMA adapter, or something like this).
      Let me know... and have fun! :)

    Congratulations and thanks for your videos ! I have really interest about buying one, but I have several doubts . What are the difference between portalpack H1 , H2 . And if we can select portal pack with 2,5” or 3,5” , both are full compatible with Hackrf one ?

    • @therfnoob7697
      @therfnoob7697  4 года назад +3

      Hi, and thanks! Good question, there is some confusion on this topic. The firmware they all use is Havoc (github.com/furrtek/portapack-havoc) and on the github official page they explicitly only mention PortaPack H1. In any case I believe the "H2" version is just a minor "external" hardware revision (lcd, buttons are different, controls, etc), by the chinese manufacturers, but it does not have any serious different "internal" functionality.
      If you discover some additional informations, please share here, it could be useful to others :)

      Hi thanks , for your quick answer. And any comment or opinion about selecting portalpack LCD 2,5 or 3,2 inches . The 3,2 “ should be also ok and fully compatible with the Hackrf one? . Another question , if I understood well , with the original Hackrf one firmware , when we attach to the portalpack , the portaback extensión brd and LCD ..., will not be recognised till we upgrade the firmware to the Havoc ? , is my understanding correct .? 73

    • @therfnoob7697
      @therfnoob7697  4 года назад +4

      @@joseluism.2528 Hi! Yes, the 3,2'' should be fully compatible, but I imagine the resolution will be the same (because the firmware is written to drive the smaller screen) so I am not so sure it is worth the extra money.
      For the second part of your question:
      1) note that Havoc is not the only firmware for the portapak. In fact the original firmware (available here: github.com/sharebrained/portapack-hackrf ) is not Havoc.
      2) I am not entirely sure about firmware updates to do, because I bought directly the HackRF+Portapack (with Havok pre-installed) so I didn't have to go through firmware updates. But I think you can find all informations regarding this on the official github!

      Joe Biden spent tons of money the past few years, with a lot of it being printed because none of the spending was budgeted by congress so the value of the dollar has dramatically declined to essentially half value. It's not just China, buying anything with the US dollar will require more dollars than before. Hence the food prices and junk everyone is complaining about. Everything went up at least 30% in price.
