The tiktok pasta is great but it's highly dependent on really good quality feta that is very creamy so that the sauce can form an emulsion. Supermarket quality feta doesn't cut it and makes a lumpy, separated sauce
I was gonna say, I see the pasta working with like a creamy Danish feta or Persian Feta. Greek and Australian Feta is more crumbly.
Does the recipe involve onions? I’m a bit confused as they seemed to add them here but I didn’t see them being added on the TikTok video
Got to be Danish feta, roast your garlic cloves whole, S&P, chili flakes and drizzle with olive oil. Chopped fresh basil is a must at the end as well.
The original creator on instagram has done a few different versions including a really nice roasted beetroot one.
@@redeye1016 the base recipe is pretty much baking a block of feta with cherry tomatoes and olive oil, seasoning and additional ingredients can be added depending on preference

The feta pasta, as it's shown on tiktok is ok but it was overly hyped. It needs the really creamy type of feta to work, not the harder crumbly one. And it's pretty bland without adding extra herbs and spices that aren't in the recipe. I also like to put spinach in it to add some iron. With those additions it's become one of my lazy meals when I can't be bothered to cook.
agreed!!! i love this pasta, just adding things like the garlic cloves and other spices are so important
oh I love the addition of spinach. but the feta (if it's not vegan) will make it harder for the body to actually work with the iron in the spinach. it's best to not mix iron heavy foods and dairy in one meal because of that.
To be fair, she used brioche and air fried it for the custard toast. I think those are big omissions.
I've made the feta pasta a few times. You definitely need a creamy feta, I use Danish feta. Also you need to drizzle a little olive oil over the tomatoes and feta. I also add pepper and chilli. Then when you go to mix it together, add a little pasta water to the feta and tomato mix before adding the pasta and mixing it together.
Food processor for the green goddess. Comes together super quickly! It’s a weekly staple over here now.
This! I can't help but think they over complicated it chopping everything by hand to make the video 3 minutes for tik tok. That could be made with little effort using a food processor

the overnight weetbix isn’t too bad, my mums been making it quite a bit, i think you guys would find it a lot better if you add milk and stired the crushed weetbix and added fruits and stuff

Australian people try american casseroles. There's some weird ass stuff out there, and some really good ones. Tater tot casserole - great. Chicken mexican casserole with corn tortillas- great. mayonnaise mould. Dear god no. The million jello salads- sometimes good sometimes god awful. Watergate salad... so many varieties

Not sure how the salad won. The salad had 4 gods, but the pasta and the toast both had 1 super god , 2 gods, and 1 OK each. If the winner was determined by no. of super god votes as stated at the beginning, then the pasta and the toast would have tied for the top spot. If it was based on an average score, then there would have been a 3-way tie.
is it just me or did the custard toast look like it was not fully cooked cuz when I usually make it, the "custard" itself has those golden brown bubbles and it rlly tastes neat

no offense but i think y’all maybe didn’t make the feta pasta right because 1. it’s so easy to make and 2. it’s incredibly yummy and everyone i’ve tried it with also thinks it’s yummy 😭
The custard toast is BOMB I had it every day for breakfast for a while, but I used sugar and actually air fried it like intended.

I tried the custard toast ages ago, I am pretty easy to please with sweet stuff. Love custard, love yoghurt, etc. But oh god. I also dont waste food much at all.
But it was rank, the texture, the flavour, everything. Almost vommed too.

Everyone saying the feta pasta is good is absolutely nuts! It literally tastes like vomit... the feta makes it sour and acidic to the point that its inedible... i cant fathom someone liking it....
