Mate, all of the South American tracks are gems! Ams2 regulars will tell you that. They’re probs let some of the best tracks in game mate. Everyone always races on the well known tracks, what ams2 does brilliantly is have these South American tracks in the game which are all ‘not so hidden’ gems. Try cascavel, londrina, termas de rio Hondas, Ibarra, for example.
Yep I agree. They are weighted down with character too. This one stood out as it has a mix of every type corner on such a short track. Great for chasing marginal gains.
Taruma is awesome, i love it. Used to be my favorite track... before i found out Londrina! Also Guapore, Velo Citta and Velopark are freakin` awesome. You MUST give them a go... Velo Citta in particular has some bad ass elevation changes, it's such a unique track.
Yep there are some amazing tracks in south America for sure. I'll give celo vitta a look, elevation changes is something that is sometimes missed on many tracks.
Make sure to try Cadwell Park, it's my favourite short track! Thanks for the recommendation may try this now. Also, class to see an Irish sim racer on RUclips! Was just searching for new AMS videos and found you. Subbed.
Tarumã is not a beginner friendly track xD I actually race in rl there with a Celta (a Turismo 1.4 car, i recommend to search in YT), the car slides all over the place, you need to be carefull on the braking or else you gonna spun out + the chicane version was only used 1 time during 2014's Stock Car season (idk the actual date), then it never got used again.
Yes it's not the most beginner friendly. But I do think it's a good track to practise on. The chicane helps with teaching braking, steering precision and throttle pick up. And the faster back section has some high speed curves where trail braking is needed. So a good track for learning car control I think. Fantastic track. For races, I can see how no chicane will create more excitement into the hairpin.
The no chicane is more flowing. I use the chicane one just for practising braking technique. And, to train throttle pickup out of slow corners. The slow direction changes in the chicane practise my precision and keeping the front of the car within grip. So the track is great fun and I use it as a training tool, this is why the chicane specifically.
Cascavel is my fav... definitely does not "have everything" if that is what you like about Toruma, more of a track that is super simple but just has such a good rhythm to the racing.
Yeah that is a great circuit too and one that you can set into a flow with. Cordoba no4 is also a nice little track with a mix of everything but with more squared off corners.
The chicane layout helps with braking, basically as the car slows down and the downforce drops off. And also, practises your patience and exit when getting on power out of slow corners.
Mr. Bismark with the Vee love everywhere. The chicane is probably a lot better with more power, anything low powered feels bad coming out of the chicane and not having any time to get back up to speed before the next left, but its still so far away
The chicane is only in there as a training tool on braking, precision and throttle pick up. For racing, no chicane would be better into the first hairpin.
For training my braking technique (very useful in a car with higher downforce) , front end and steering precision and throttle application on exits. It also trains you to be precise with your choice of line. For racing, the no chicane may be better though.
Curiously that chicane is disliked with a passion here. It was created for Stock Car Brasil only and used a few times for safety reasons before it got ditched, as the usual Turn 3 is a flat out run to the Curva do Laço. It was a total slap in the face of the locals because Tarumã is referred as one of the fastest tracks in Brazil. And the firm that built the Sigma P1 Gen5 also has a P2 class version that is racing in the Campeonato Gaúcho de Endurance. I talked with the project manager and they are working to lock the spec so it can be sold to customers, which would probably mean an arrival in AMS2 too. It doesn't have the cornering capabilities and power of the P1 class car, but it does a good job from the simplified aero and the 1.6 litre Audi engine.
That would be cool if we got the car added. As for the chicane version, it is purely a training tool for my braking, steering precision and lines and pick up throttle, so for a small track to have a mix of corners that include a heavy braking area into an extended chicane is cool and rare. No chicane is more fun and more suited to actual racing.
The Velopark is another track we have here that has chicanes with distinct characteristics, which basically make for the fun value of it. The first one can be attacked really hard while the one at the back straight requires some good handling finesse to be navigated. Being a 47s lap with a Sigma P1 G5, it's good for training as you will have a lot of repetition in a short period of time.

Plenty of fun on this one ya! Nice highlight.
Cheers, compadre... you just found to have a Gaucho's soul lol

We don't use the chicane version very often. Most of the time we prefer the normal version, which is the one traditionally used by Stock Car.

Nice combo Gary. Love that track but never tried it with the chicane. Great insights as always

I've raced this in Formula Vee and the V8 Supercars - it works for almost any car. I would always choose the version with no chicane though.
Mr. Bismark with the Vee love everywhere. The chicane is probably a lot better with more power, anything low powered feels bad coming out of the chicane and not having any time to get back up to speed before the next left, but its still so far away
@@steventaylor546 There is no escape.
As for chicanes, nothing is improved by putting a chicane in it. They're evil.

Good stuff ❤
I think I did the same as you, had fun in a superkart and forgot to come back with anything else. Will have to fix that, love a short track.
I think rieza are working out the physics of the superkart. Once they do this, it's a good track for it.
I love this track with the Formula Trainer. Give it a try! Good liv'n
Will do, I need to revisit the vees since the physics changes.
@@GSSimRacingCool... Hopefully you'll like it. Formula Vees might be fun too. The ones I tried were specifically the Formula Trainers..
One of my favourites going back to AMS1. I race the Vees there all the time (no chicane version) Try it out!
Yeah the vees, and f3 even work great. Can confirm, it's a bad track for racing trucks 😂
even though they race trucks there in real life! lol@@GSSimRacing
Hey Gary, in the last few videos your mic has been producing a high frequency squeal.
Thanks for that heads up. I'll check it out and make adjustments. 👍
wait until you try Guapore + F3/Copa Classic
I'll add that to the list. I've yet to race on a south American circuit I did not like. 😊
But why Taruma Chicane?
For training my braking technique (very useful in a car with higher downforce) , front end and steering precision and throttle application on exits. It also trains you to be precise with your choice of line. For racing, the no chicane may be better though.
You're all wrong, ibarra is the best. It is impossible!
I will check this one out in more detail. Any car you'd recommend for it?

@@Minamotographics that is really interesting to know. I'll certainly give that one a look, sounds ideal for a training type, short circuit.
Need to try this out. Thanks Gary
It's a great training circuit. Has a mix of almost every corner.
