Not really. AC, in the main, doesn't have race cars - it has street cars with street tyres. AM2, in the main, is racing cars. It makes no sense at all to expect them both to have the same handling or to decide which you think is realistic or not. It's just clueless rambling with a speech impediment.
@@michael1 I would debate tyre difference (there are plenty of race-like tyre in AC vs oldies from 80-90x on AMS2 side), but the main difference is in physics fidelity overall. AMS2 is good interpretation of dynamics, something to play with, very rough edges. It is amazing what Reiza is able to get out of ProjectCars2 guts, which was utterly pathetic simcade, 200% visible in VR with mars-like inertias and dynamics. Original AMS had old "scripted" engine and tyres but it was polished to perfection (still not my cup of tea). I wish Reiza would license rF2 engine instead, with their dedication and dynamics of rF2 it would be a total blast. Lets see what overhyped Rennsport could do with (older?) ISI physics engine and UnrealEngine5 ditched by KunosSimulazioni.

Same here so I made a spread sheet listing all cars and tracks then sorted by horsepower and am now working through the list going up in hp and changing tracks each time. Gives me something to focus on and drive each car and track.
I have the both of them but for me AMS2 is my game of choice. To have fun in AC you have to get a lot of mods and they are all over the place as far as quality, if you're trying to get a full class you have to go to multiple sources. But the track mods in AC are great. AMS2 is just ready to go almost right out of the box. Classic F1 and Formula USA cars are my addiction of choice.
I agree AMS2 is easier out the box install and go + all with AI and just more simple. Having said that You don't have to get lots of mods , tons of cars in AC are some of the best In simracing and not a single car in AMS2 is better than anything in AC ( stock content) Put it this way if I recommend AMS2 for a real driver to train on id expect to get sued.
Salmon do have legs. Bought AMS2 at the weekend, enjoying it a lot so far. I really like AC, but I play offline single player and AMS2 seems better for that. Plus it has fantastic weather and although you can do that in AC, the AI traffic doesn't seem to understand dynamic weather.
Out of the box? Sure AMS2 ai is a bit better. But it depends. With correct adjustments and good track ai AC ai is better. Check my longer answer before.
Former SCCA D-production driver here. AMS1 is the best if you want something that drives like a real car. I’d say AC is fine except the kerb issue is a deal-breaker. Every kerb in AC is coated with ice.
I have both, but I spend more time on AMS2 exactly because of the ease of use, you pick the track, pick a car, pick the weather and go for it... meanwhile in AC, you pick the track... in a random site, you pick the car... in a random site, and I don't even bother with weather, install it, play for 15min and get disappointed by the quality of the mod, rinse and repeat
The original AC is great in VR but i don't have the best GPU and find ACC much hatder to run and get it looking nice and smooth in VR. AMS2 is kind of inbetween so it looks good and runs smooth with the settings i use for VR. There all good in VR if you have the hardware to run them
Being from Norway, we know quite a bit about Salmon. That said, this is one of your better videos, kudos, and I wholeheartedly agree. You failed to mention that there are mods for ams2, and I'm a bit offended to be honest , since I have released a few converted tracks for AMS2, and there are lots more to come. It is true that for now the only tracks I can do for AMS2 are conversions from PC2, but that might change.
AMS2 sounds like a good title for "entry-level" simracing, where you just install the game, drive around and you're good. And it has rain which is not there in vanilla AC. All the same, AC is so good. I have ACC, BeamNG and WRC.. and I keep going back to AC for pure driving enjoyment. I haven't found anything yet that compares to driving the 488 GTB or RUF Yellowbird in AC, I drive them until my arms ache, just exhilarating. The way you can pin the car to the apex with the brakes and throttle or go into controlled power oversteer is fantastic. You can really "dance" with the car and feel the excitement of driving on the limit. I will make the switch to any other "generalist" sim only when something can better that. Fingers crossed that AC2 can capture that feeling again.
Well the fact that we are comparing a vanilla game with a heavy modded game is like compare Vitor Belfort with trt against a fighter without it.... Personally.. AC have basically all cars and tracks that you can imagine... How it drives....AMS change time for time i remember i get one update runs fine later a got other update just look wrong...and now by the people say...it looks good again so... The fact that AI in AC sucks....it's terrible.... in terms of run nicely goes for AMS2...Sound AC despite is not a huge deal for me. And...in assetto you can drift for exemple,AMS 2 have updated tracks in point...AC is modded so...The biggest advantages of AC is that you can drift and grip...it also have ever single car as mod...so...both are cool and fun...i wish i could choose 1 kkkkk...and now AMS 2 put the updated le mans track looks like i will need to try it again.
@@7hecouchpotato depends on the track but I personally really like it. You feel the bumps in the road and therefore need to stay on the wheel and alert even in a straight.
We only see AMS2 footage and non of the AC for visual reference. Felt we needed to see both sims being driven. Otherwise it seems bias only seeing AMS2
AMS 2 is just a go to for me. It's too easy to set up racing and there is so much content to help tweak the wheel out there and you don't need to mod as much as you do with AC. Also, Salmon do have legs.
I really like AMS2; I'm a big fan of the franchise, even though I also have ACC. However, it's always good to see a more unbiased opinion. I like AMS2 because it translates better to me how I imagine motorsport would be. Even though there are more realistic simulators from a physical perspective, AMS2 is the closest to my understanding of car racing
I agree. I don't know what it is but I just get something from AMS2 that I don't get from other games. AC is great and in some areas it will never lose (all down to the mods) but overall AMS2 just gets me more in the zone. It saved VR for me as I originally was all in on ACC (coming from Xbox) and built a PC with VR mainly for that so you could imagine my disappointment.
AMS2 has very weak FFB and "flat" feeling of the car. When You jump to ACC, RF2, iRacing or RaceRoom You're surprised how much more details they have. It's just arcade game, not comparable to others.
Your comparison of the two titles that appeal to me is terrific. Nicely balanced and unbiased. As someone that recently bought AMS2 and happens to be one of the 3 people with a VR headset, it has been a great choice. Been loving it since, there's so much there to unpack, including mods - something you neglected to mention. For anyone reading this Reiza has opened the doors to modding, so the future looks bright. Not much atm but you can get a lot of the Project Cars 2 tracks and a few dozen cars, with new content coming up periodically. However I just recently learned about the incredible world of AC's modding. And really want to delve into it. Just waiting for AC to go on sale again, as I missed it for Can$4 last month during Steam's Christmas sale. Waiting for another sale but watching videos like this one here makes me want to break the bank and pay full price. hehehe make a cup of tea... You are so British. Have a biscuit with that :)
One thing I DESPISE about Automobilista 2, is the nonsensical shift times. Why do particular cars driven in manual have a delay that causes the transmissions to not actually seat in gear for a portion of a second after you complete the shift, causing it to rev without applying throttle?
Are you shifting without using the clutch? I know this feature started in PC2 as a way to allow people without a clutch pedal (or with automatic or paddle shift) to drive manual cars and still retain realistic shift times. I drive a lot of H-pattern cars in AMS2, with clutch and gearbox and never have this delay even on the old G27 shifter where I could definitely shift way faster than is realistic, but you'll definitely notice it if you're just using paddle shifters (and not using a clutch)
@@davidpardy Standard G27 H shifter with three pedals. Maybe they changed it, I mentioned it in a forum and awhile back and somebody said it was to make it realistic, as apparently people can't shift that fast in the real variants. Which is bullshit of course, because I can shift my real car as fast as I can move my arms. Can't test it to see, as my G27 keeps locking to the left whenever I launch games with it active.
AC does have a little bit of grip loss feeling if you check that box in the settings, and if you take the time to tweak a custom ffb file in AMS2 for the lines that control the grip loss feelings, it surpasses all other ffb systems. The only problem is that nobody tells the average user how to do it. So, practically nobody does it.
I only drive in VR and I play both games but I always go back to AC. AMS2 doesnt feel as sharp as AC. It looks great, but AC is my choice for random laps
One of the things I've notice with VR that perhaps might only work with triple screens is the ability to look around the corner. T2 at Laguna Seca is the best example I can think of.
what you mean it does not feel as sharp? from driving? FFB? or you mean graphically? because graphically I use in both games AC and ams2 100% native resolution 3140 pixel per eye, additional in ams2 the sharpening trick with editing 2 values in the config file which giblves an incredible sharp look. from driving I think AC feels little bit more direct for me, and the FFB forces are more present, in ams2 very weak especially driving not that fast, nearly no forces although I set gain to 90% and all others to 60%. with default+
@mh7711 I downloaded a custom FFB file for AMS2 and it feels good. But the tyre model is what I mean. It just doesn't feel as connected as AC. It drives alot better now but it still makes me feel like I'm guessing on how the car will behave. It's cool but it can't touch AC
AMS2 AI is fantastic. Unfortunately I don’t have a sim racing setup, I play on Steam Deck with chase cam (otherwise you can’t feel what the backend of the car is doing). I set the AI to 80 with aggression to high. I find that makes races very tense, but I still have to work hard for overtakes.
Tbh i love em both, i just got AMS2 a week ago and i absolutely love it, today i raced in an M1 pro car in long Beach and that combo plus VR just hit right for me. Still the physics of AMS2 isn't quite there but its really good, i found that oversteering the car around a corner can be quite weird as you try to find the maximum slip angle, but for the most part it is very fun especially with the new tweak fir the ffb. I obviously love AC because of the many mods but it can get quite annoying as you try to troubleshoot issues. They both complete sim racing for me including iRacing.
what tweak for FFB in ams2 you mean? because I don't like the FFB compared to AC, it feels very weak, I raise up to 90% gain and noise, fx and minimal force to 60% and it still feels weak against AC with 75%.perhaos I need a fix, too?
Driving AM2 for a while without driving any other sim and the come back to AC, ACC an Raceroom. And i have to say. Physics like AM2 can't keep it up with the others. Even after all the updates. It's another level of realistic driving feeling in AC for example. AM2 do so many things well but driving physics are more arcade like in comparisson to the others. Not bad and makes a lot of fun. Tyre binding to the road also very good but its so competetive to drive for example an old F1 car in AC then in AM2. But again its just fun in both. In AM2 every can jump in and drive these cars well. FFB is also top notch.
exactly! for me Raceroom even oldesr and ugly looking have best physics and driving experience in general. If racing any od sims you mentioned and drive Ams2 after just feels weird.
As one third of the VR player base, I bought myself an ultrawide today to see what the common people use. I'll install both AC and AMS2 this weekend and experience them in pancake mode. Also, I believe salmon do have legs. But then again, I used to nod politely to a sturgeon with hooves every morning, but only during spring.
I got AC strictly because I wanted a Pitt Race mod. The initial version wasn't very good but the latest is terrific. I only go to Pitt Race anymore so having a track I can practice on is critical. I also use the Track Attack plugin so I can analyze sim and real-world data. I've managed to set up a car in AC that acts about as close as possible to my actual car and I do use VR. I'm very happy and I can't wait for the release AC2 next year.
For online I turn to Iracing Main focus sim. AI racing AMS2. If there was enough telemetry support For AC 1, I'd probably be switching from iracing to AC
it may be unbiased, but it's not exactly fair. you can't compare a game with mods with a game without mods. it's not a fair comparison, cause obviously the one with mods will be better.

One point you missed in your multiplayer section is that AMS2 is the only of the big 3 (AC, ACC, AMS2) that you can fill out the grid with AI drivers. Yes, I can create a lobby in AC and ACC but no AI. My friend and I really enjoy racing together vs a full grid of AI. BTW, not only do salmon have legs, but sturgeon do also!!
Im AMS2 all the way although i do agree with mods ac can be great as well. To me comparing the two is like comparing a street car to a street car with track mods lol. I appreciate you acknowledged that by mentioning the out if the box comparison. I do believe once the mods catch up with ams2 it will be incredible they have already started mods for ams2.
The differences are rather slight really and come down to personal preferences more then anything else. I find some cars better in AC then in AMS2 and some the other way around. Overall they both do an amazing job at simulating driving really fast around a track and both are a blast. I find myself praising or cursing either of them mostly depending of how well a certain session went. I have had amazing experiences with both of them were I get really into the zone to the point were attacking the corners feels like an almost out of body experience. And I have had many occasions in both of them were my car control feels like my brain is just not up to the task of driving a car trough even the most gradual bend. But overall the skills you use in translate well from one to the other so I would say they are more similar then they are different. Both have an pretty steep learning curve but if you are adept in one of them you'll have little trouble in switching to the other. And both have a degree of realism that translates to real driving. I did some laps at the Nürburgring a while ago and the instructor picked up almost immediately that I was a sim driver. He said that sim drivers tend to know the driving line and breakpoints and show more confidence from the start. But after that experience I was also keenly aware that driving fast in a sim is still miles away from the real thing.
If slight is as great as driving on completely different compound tires in totally different conditions then sure. AMS2 still has a long way to go to get to AMS1, RF2, AC - and those sims still have a way to go to reality. AMS2 is overly static and calm to drive like difference between driving a super refined modern road car on road tires , vs an actual race car on slicks. AMS2 is like driving with tons of assists on at all times. All those games use largely the same "driving skills" though I think that's the bigger thing with AMS2 last update , it might not capture specific cars or slick tires on a track and be overly calm but it reflects general driving quite well.
Well, AMS2 is my sim to go to practice and improve because of FFB and going to other sims like ACC I have a better knowledge of how to do with the car and go with more confidence there too and .. . well, it just works, I improve with similar times on the same tracks for the same or similar cars so I would give AMS2 the go for physics, if AMS2 is wrong then ACC and rF2 are also wrong for similar reasons (also given I drive defaults and not self made setups or exploit setups). AMS2 also have all sorts of cars and have Nurb Nords, Interlagos and Monaco when I really want some fun time.

Sure, every sim have its pros and cons, every sim have its flaws but to me the physics aspect of driving more on the limits of the car is what matter, be it one sim have more or less play on the limit than the other but I want to keep improving my skills and understanding.
I want to be able to do VR so bad, but no matter how I try to build up the tolerance for it, VR makes me sick. Yet you have said that AMS2 tends to make you car-sick. In my case I can play AMS2 all day without issues. Interesting.
I only play in VR, so AMS2 was always my Go To. But people are sleeping on iRacing. I tried it a few weeks ago out of curiosity, and it's the only one I've been playing since. It runs GREAT in VR. It feels GREAT. It does come with like 10 tracks and cars, but obviously it's a fuggen drag that you have to pay for content. I've bought the f4, f3, SF, the new GT3 ferrari, and the GT4 Porsche. In a way, it's kind of freeing though - I'd always have trouble finding a GT3 car to "main". Well, since I spent 12 bucks on it, it has to be the ferrari now lol. I don't want to be a shill. AMS2 is the best deal for VR out there. But it drives slightly different from AC, iRacing, and rfactor 2. Which bugs me slightly. They all have more upfront grip, which I think is probably more realistic. I know ams2 has improved alot, but the fact that all the other ones feel pretty similair and then ams2 feels slightly different is a detriment to the game, imho But I just always dismissed iracing out of hand as a primarily single-player and VR racer. And it's been amazing. The graphics are so clean and clear, the AI is amazing, the laser-scanned tracks feel incredible - zandvoort is so different to drive than the AC one I have, so much more camber in parts than I thought. I run a 7800x3d and a 4080 for the record.
Thanks for the video comparisons. I enjoy both games and do my racing in VR mode. Each racing game I have has a different feel to them, which i expect. Once I got used to the differences and tweaked a few things, both games were fun to do some racing. Take care.
It's a shame they didn’t build AMS 2 on the RFactor 2 engine. Both are great, AC and AMS2. I just don't understand how, outside of RF2, none of the sims have recreated the intuitive feeling of driving a car the way the nearly decade old AC has... not least of which is ACC. AMS2 feels "OK," but you can still feel a whole lot of PC2 in it.
I like AMS2, but I just added the weather effects to AC and I must say, that racing GT3 cars on the Nordschleife at night in a heavy thunderstorm was the most intense and exciting bit of driving I have ever done.
AMS2 is just like DiRT Rally, not quite a hardcore sim but it compensates elsewhere by having a good single player experience and great accessibility. I don't have patience or enough free time to mess around with mods anymore so I'm glad AMS2 exists, it's my go to sim nowadays. As many people have said it's definitely missing a career mode tough, the championships are fun but don't quite scratch that single player itch.
Honestly ac looks fun as hell but I just don’t want to mess with modding. Takes long enough getting all my buttons programmed and stuff. I’ll stick with the unmodded salmon legs in ams2 (but really im addicted to rf2 currently because tires)
I just wish the crowds/trackside sounds were a bit louder in AMS2, during the race the track atmosphere can feel a bit lifeless. I've no idea if real life drivers can hear the crowds, but without them it doesn't feel quite right.
Its weird because AMS2 feels kinda easy in some ways, but some cars are pretty hard to drive, harder than AC. The faster formula cars in AMS2 seem to be strange. Differential seems kinda baked and acts strange and certain situations make you lose traction for what feels like an eternity.

it's been almost 2 - 2.5 years and my main sim is AC. The amount of things that the game has with mods is astonishing to me, it's the best sim out there really. The game in sales is exaggeratedly cheap, and all the DLCs are also super cheap. But what I don't like is the AI, i struggle to have fun with them, so that is where AMS enters. I just started using it, and ist really fun to play against AI, i don't know about online because I never play online but I'm 100% sure it will be better. at the end of the day is all about taste and some games are better than others in different things, so my recommendation is after multiple racing games (AC, ACC, FM, GT, PC2, AMS2...) play what you like, no game is going to be perfect, if you're looking to buy your first sim, look for reviews but either way all of them are great :)
In terms of physics.. man.. until now AMS2 was little bit weird. Yesterday I participated in a Just race online event.. with GT4 at long beach. The Cayman is so damn good.. the FFB feels so rubberish, the imperfections of the ground, how it slides, how controlable it is.. I recommend to decrease the diff preloads always. 30-60NM and 4 spacers depending of the car.. no more slidy thing. For me was as good as AC.
which one of Automobilista & iRacing have overwhelming long career mode with diverse cars similar to GT 7? berceuse im not into online racing. & which one of iRacing or Automobilista better in physics?
AC got one serious problem for me... the speed sensation... you are running at 250km/h and the feeling in monitor is... well, i'm just above 90km/h.... I did not try it with VR but on a monitor is a very bad problem for me...
*Whadda ya mean "if you can't get both of them"? You could repeatedly buy these two sims and many more for just 10 bucks total. You can still buy Assetto Corsa complete edition on sale for dirt cheap. Just wait for Christmas discount. AMS2 you can also then get cheap. Its not a matter of choosing. Buy both during a sale!
Competent comments from GM. I play both. I still wonder how AC got the grip zone so well. (Plus the possibility to match AC closer to a real car, given you have the chance to compare.)
I love both. AC is always fun to mess around on - finding new mods etc... AMS2 is generally my go-to though when I just want to get on with it. Pick a random car, pick a random track and then have a really fun race. There are so many brilliant South American tracks on the game I've never raced around so can spend hours hotlapping and learning new tracks.
If you are playing assetto corsa in 2023 then you are playing it modded, which takes 30 min learn how to install. And then you have the best sim available

The physics still aren't quite right on AMS2, but it's taken a giant leap forward in terms of playability. It was disappointing before, but with the online racing and new cars, it's a lot of fun now. If I need more realism physics wise, RF2 is still my go to.
Very interesting video. I have a question: When you discuss force feedback, are you testing different wheel to come up with your conclusions? For istance I used AC with the old CSL belt drive and the semi-new DD 8Nm direct drive and it work very well with both, while with the thrusmaster TS-PC Racer you need some adjustments to get a good force feedback from the wheel. My judgement would probably be different dipending on the wheel I'm using.
any DD wheel over 8NM basically lets you feel what a sim can put out , to be honest CLE belt wheel can give a really good idea of the sims core ffb - but yah if you play on a T300,G293,TMX those wheels will have there own feel and hide the games actual FFB in some way. I own 4+ DD wheels and have 5 or so review unit DD wheels and then maybe 4 or so other wheels I have collected and used over the years for many hours , so i feel like im in a good position to know how the wheels affect the games ffb / what does what and how.
I like both games. And you're 100% spot on about physics. AC is way superior. AMS2 feels like the car is constantly "floating" and you don't have even nearly the same "road feel" when you drive. AC ai is very track & car dependent. You can have a bad track ai and the ai then garbage. But try something like 1988 Spa and you'll notice the ai is excellent (when the ai drivers/cars have been given proper ai skill values). I just posted a video of Senna/Prost battle on 1988 Hermanos Rodrigues 1990 with RSS Formula 1 to my channel. The ai is superb and very competitive with that combo. Then pick 1988 Hungaroring and the ai is suddenly super slow. Maybe it's the track shape (lots of slow curves) but seems to be the case with every single Hungaroring I've tried. So AC has to have all dominoes together, properly done track ai and detail adjustments exactly done right on the champs files to get very good ai experience. But I really like AMS2 and I truly appreciate their approach with vintage F1 seasons. Just bought the newest classic track DLC. Big respect and support to them but they still have a lot of work to do before they can reach the AC overall driving experience, imho.

I haven't played Assetto Corsa so I can't compare the feedback but if Assetto has worse feedback on cheaper SIM wheels (Logitech g29) than AMS 2 then something's going on. I've tried so many different settings in game and the feedback is the worst I've ever felt. It has made the game totally unplayable on entry point wheels. I can't feel anything and it's like racing on ice. I know you can install a custom feedback file. But to have feedback that's worse than Forza Motorsport well that says something. (I googled Forza settings for the G29 and it's actually pretty good once the settings are dialed in).
Salmon definitely have flippers 😂. As one of the two VR drivers, I had an absolutely amazing experience racing the MP4/6 at Imola ‘88 last night, full manual/ no aids in AMS2 1.5.3. The best single player experience I’ve had in 2 decades of racing sims. That sound…
You said it all, the hole content management in AC is really annoying, also I love to play offline so with the bad AI (also in ACC) it makes worse, and only hot laping is also boring. Great video, I'm waiting for Le Mans Ultimate but maybe I would give AMS2 a try.
Just can’t get on with Assetto Corsa, it feels way too slow to me and can’t feel the cars at all, which is a shame as the mods and base content is great. Automobilista 2 and RaceRoom feel better in those ways for me but lack much modern content (or licenced in AMS2’s case), needs quality mods to fix all that. There’s no perfect sim but good that we have all these options
Been wanting a newer racing game for a while now, the game I still play is GTR2. I'm torn... I'm a singleplayer racer for the most part so AMS2 really appeals with the good AI... but... at the same time, AC having a "career mode" and better physics is very appealing as well. But, I suppose... no amount of physics, pretty visuals, and career mode means anything if the AI is completely inept.
Just got a SC2 Pro a few weeks ago, so I've been diving into these sims for first time this month. So far I love em both, but prefer AMS2 for graphics, interface, and AC for car physics and FFB detail. I just can't get AC's menus looking right on my 4k 65" LG C1 .. Do you have to mod the game to get the menu interface to scale properly? Or maybe I've overlooked something in the settings?
I started simracing last week after being away for many years. Started with setting up CM getting mods back etc, spent a day figuring out how to host in CM etc etc. Yesterday I bought ASM2. Dl some cars and tracks and spent the whole morning reading and tweaking FF. Got it all working nicely in the end. BUT ASM2 is levels away from AC in all. The FF in ASM2 I'm "positiv" Is not connected to tires at all. It feels like its 100% Weight and Springs, it's good information and I don't get any rattling in my old G25 ( Sold the good stuff ) So in terms of FF ASM2 is better on my G25 but that's because it's not based on tyre physics. That MOUNTAIN of info about FF settings, are there to create something out of thin air. The tires is there in the physics, but only in theory. Step on the breaks.. Where's the FF? The REAL FF. No.. ASM2 is nothing like AC. And it's just as fiddly but you get 100x more in AC.
The only thing left (for me) that AC does that AMS2 does not: in AC, you can pick each and every single car in an offline match. Want to compare just this car vs. just that car? You can do it in AC. In AMS2 it only lets you pick a class. Since I only race offline, I sometimes like to do comparisons of two very similar cars, or even two very dissimilar, like a supercar vs. a formula car. Maybe one brand vs. another. If AMS2 had that ability, I think I'd finally be able to say goodbye to AC. And, of course, Salmon do have legs, silly.
As a VR only sim racer, AC is actually better than AMS2 when properly configured. It runs better too, particularly at night. Headlights in AMS2 utterly destroy performance. Not to say AMS2 is bad in VR at all, its fantastic, but AC is a cut above.
Ive been enjoying ams2 for quick races....the cars are driveable even if you have to learn about what drive train does. I hope ac2 people watch your channel it had potential to be the ultimate but not till three years after release of course.
for me I started with AC which indeed is more fiddly than AM2 but a lot of fun but the single game experience is lacking. I find AM2 far easier to get the most of it straight away as this video explains. Hopefully AC Evo can bridge the gap between the plus points of these 2 sims.
Regardless of who's better, both are more than worthy of being in your Steam library. Me? I often go back and forth between the two.

Not really. AC, in the main, doesn't have race cars - it has street cars with street tyres. AM2, in the main, is racing cars. It makes no sense at all to expect them both to have the same handling or to decide which you think is realistic or not. It's just clueless rambling with a speech impediment.
@@michael1 I would debate tyre difference (there are plenty of race-like tyre in AC vs oldies from 80-90x on AMS2 side), but the main difference is in physics fidelity overall. AMS2 is good interpretation of dynamics, something to play with, very rough edges. It is amazing what Reiza is able to get out of ProjectCars2 guts, which was utterly pathetic simcade, 200% visible in VR with mars-like inertias and dynamics. Original AMS had old "scripted" engine and tyres but it was polished to perfection (still not my cup of tea).
I wish Reiza would license rF2 engine instead, with their dedication and dynamics of rF2 it would be a total blast. Lets see what overhyped Rennsport could do with (older?) ISI physics engine and UnrealEngine5 ditched by KunosSimulazioni.

Same here so I made a spread sheet listing all cars and tracks then sorted by horsepower and am now working through the list going up in hp and changing tracks each time. Gives me something to focus on and drive each car and track.

I have the both of them but for me AMS2 is my game of choice. To have fun in AC you have to get a lot of mods and they are all over the place as far as quality, if you're trying to get a full class you have to go to multiple sources. But the track mods in AC are great. AMS2 is just ready to go almost right out of the box. Classic F1 and Formula USA cars are my addiction of choice.
I agree AMS2 is easier out the box install and go + all with AI and just more simple.
Having said that You don't have to get lots of mods , tons of cars in AC are some of the best In simracing and not a single car in AMS2 is better than anything in AC ( stock content)
Put it this way if I recommend AMS2 for a real driver to train on id expect to get sued.
Salmon do have legs. Bought AMS2 at the weekend, enjoying it a lot so far. I really like AC, but I play offline single player and AMS2 seems better for that. Plus it has fantastic weather and although you can do that in AC, the AI traffic doesn't seem to understand dynamic weather.
Out of the box? Sure AMS2 ai is a bit better. But it depends. With correct adjustments and good track ai AC ai is better. Check my longer answer before.

Former SCCA D-production driver here. AMS1 is the best if you want something that drives like a real car. I’d say AC is fine except the kerb issue is a deal-breaker. Every kerb in AC is coated with ice.

I have both, but I spend more time on AMS2 exactly because of the ease of use, you pick the track, pick a car, pick the weather and go for it... meanwhile in AC, you pick the track... in a random site, you pick the car... in a random site, and I don't even bother with weather, install it, play for 15min and get disappointed by the quality of the mod, rinse and repeat

The original AC is great in VR but i don't have the best GPU and find ACC much hatder to run and get it looking nice and smooth in VR.
AMS2 is kind of inbetween so it looks good and runs smooth with the settings i use for VR.

Being from Norway, we know quite a bit about Salmon.
That said, this is one of your better videos, kudos, and I wholeheartedly agree.
You failed to mention that there are mods for ams2, and I'm a bit offended to be honest , since I have released a few converted tracks for AMS2, and there are lots more to come.
It is true that for now the only tracks I can do for AMS2 are conversions from PC2, but that might change.

AMS2 sounds like a good title for "entry-level" simracing, where you just install the game, drive around and you're good. And it has rain which is not there in vanilla AC. All the same, AC is so good. I have ACC, BeamNG and WRC.. and I keep going back to AC for pure driving enjoyment. I haven't found anything yet that compares to driving the 488 GTB or RUF Yellowbird in AC, I drive them until my arms ache, just exhilarating. The way you can pin the car to the apex with the brakes and throttle or go into controlled power oversteer is fantastic. You can really "dance" with the car and feel the excitement of driving on the limit. I will make the switch to any other "generalist" sim only when something can better that. Fingers crossed that AC2 can capture that feeling again.

@@7hecouchpotato depends on the track but I personally really like it. You feel the bumps in the road and therefore need to stay on the wheel and alert even in a straight.
We only see AMS2 footage and non of the AC for visual reference. Felt we needed to see both sims being driven. Otherwise it seems bias only seeing AMS2
AMS 2 is just a go to for me. It's too easy to set up racing and there is so much content to help tweak the wheel out there and you don't need to mod as much as you do with AC. Also, Salmon do have legs.
I really like AMS2; I'm a big fan of the franchise, even though I also have ACC. However, it's always good to see a more unbiased opinion. I like AMS2 because it translates better to me how I imagine motorsport would be. Even though there are more realistic simulators from a physical perspective, AMS2 is the closest to my understanding of car racing

I agree. I don't know what it is but I just get something from AMS2 that I don't get from other games. AC is great and in some areas it will never lose (all down to the mods) but overall AMS2 just gets me more in the zone. It saved VR for me as I originally was all in on ACC (coming from Xbox) and built a PC with VR mainly for that so you could imagine my disappointment.

AMS2 has very weak FFB and "flat" feeling of the car. When You jump to ACC, RF2, iRacing or RaceRoom You're surprised how much more details they have. It's just arcade game, not comparable to others.
Your comparison of the two titles that appeal to me is terrific. Nicely balanced and unbiased. As someone that recently bought AMS2 and happens to be one of the 3 people with a VR headset, it has been a great choice. Been loving it since, there's so much there to unpack, including mods - something you neglected to mention. For anyone reading this Reiza has opened the doors to modding, so the future looks bright. Not much atm but you can get a lot of the Project Cars 2 tracks and a few dozen cars, with new content coming up periodically.
However I just recently learned about the incredible world of AC's modding. And really want to delve into it. Just waiting for AC to go on sale again, as I missed it for Can$4 last month during Steam's Christmas sale. Waiting for another sale but watching videos like this one here makes me want to break the bank and pay full price.

One thing I DESPISE about Automobilista 2, is the nonsensical shift times. Why do particular cars driven in manual have a delay that causes the transmissions to not actually seat in gear for a portion of a second after you complete the shift, causing it to rev without applying throttle?
Are you shifting without using the clutch? I know this feature started in PC2 as a way to allow people without a clutch pedal (or with automatic or paddle shift) to drive manual cars and still retain realistic shift times. I drive a lot of H-pattern cars in AMS2, with clutch and gearbox and never have this delay even on the old G27 shifter where I could definitely shift way faster than is realistic, but you'll definitely notice it if you're just using paddle shifters (and not using a clutch)
@@davidpardy Standard G27 H shifter with three pedals. Maybe they changed it, I mentioned it in a forum and awhile back and somebody said it was to make it realistic, as apparently people can't shift that fast in the real variants. Which is bullshit of course, because I can shift my real car as fast as I can move my arms. Can't test it to see, as my G27 keeps locking to the left whenever I launch games with it active.
Automobilista 2 has came along way now and is a great complete package
AC does have a little bit of grip loss feeling if you check that box in the settings, and if you take the time to tweak a custom ffb file in AMS2 for the lines that control the grip loss feelings, it surpasses all other ffb systems. The only problem is that nobody tells the average user how to do it. So, practically nobody does it.
And until I read your comment I was unaware of it. But now I'm going to look into it.

I only drive in VR and I play both games but I always go back to AC. AMS2 doesnt feel as sharp as AC. It looks great, but AC is my choice for random laps
One of the things I've notice with VR that perhaps might only work with triple screens is the ability to look around the corner. T2 at Laguna Seca is the best example I can think of.
what you mean it does not feel as sharp? from driving? FFB? or you mean graphically? because graphically I use in both games AC and ams2 100% native resolution 3140 pixel per eye, additional in ams2 the sharpening trick with editing 2 values in the config file which giblves an incredible sharp look. from driving I think AC feels little bit more direct for me, and the FFB forces are more present, in ams2 very weak especially driving not that fast, nearly no forces although I set gain to 90% and all others to 60%. with default+
@mh7711 I downloaded a custom FFB file for AMS2 and it feels good. But the tyre model is what I mean. It just doesn't feel as connected as AC. It drives alot better now but it still makes me feel like I'm guessing on how the car will behave. It's cool but it can't touch AC
AMS2 AI is fantastic. Unfortunately I don’t have a sim racing setup, I play on Steam Deck with chase cam (otherwise you can’t feel what the backend of the car is doing). I set the AI to 80 with aggression to high. I find that makes races very tense, but I still have to work hard for overtakes.

Tbh i love em both, i just got AMS2 a week ago and i absolutely love it, today i raced in an M1 pro car in long Beach and that combo plus VR just hit right for me. Still the physics of AMS2 isn't quite there but its really good, i found that oversteering the car around a corner can be quite weird as you try to find the maximum slip angle, but for the most part it is very fun especially with the new tweak fir the ffb. I obviously love AC because of the many mods but it can get quite annoying as you try to troubleshoot issues. They both complete sim racing for me including iRacing.
what tweak for FFB in ams2 you mean? because I don't like the FFB compared to AC, it feels very weak, I raise up to 90% gain and noise, fx and minimal force to 60% and it still feels weak against AC with 75%.perhaos I need a fix, too?
Driving AM2 for a while without driving any other sim and the come back to AC, ACC an Raceroom. And i have to say. Physics like AM2 can't keep it up with the others. Even after all the updates. It's another level of realistic driving feeling in AC for example. AM2 do so many things well but driving physics are more arcade like in comparisson to the others. Not bad and makes a lot of fun. Tyre binding to the road also very good but its so competetive to drive for example an old F1 car in AC then in AM2. But again its just fun in both. In AM2 every can jump in and drive these cars well. FFB is also top notch.
exactly! for me Raceroom even oldesr and ugly looking have best physics and driving experience in general. If racing any od sims you mentioned and drive Ams2 after just feels weird.
As one third of the VR player base, I bought myself an ultrawide today to see what the common people use. I'll install both AC and AMS2 this weekend and experience them in pancake mode. Also, I believe salmon do have legs. But then again, I used to nod politely to a sturgeon with hooves every morning, but only during spring.

I got AC strictly because I wanted a Pitt Race mod. The initial version wasn't very good but the latest is terrific. I only go to Pitt Race anymore so having a track I can practice on is critical. I also use the Track Attack plugin so I can analyze sim and real-world data. I've managed to set up a car in AC that acts about as close as possible to my actual car and I do use VR. I'm very happy and I can't wait for the release AC2 next year.
For online I turn to Iracing Main focus sim. AI racing AMS2. If there was enough telemetry support For AC 1, I'd probably be switching from iracing to AC

One point you missed in your multiplayer section is that AMS2 is the only of the big 3 (AC, ACC, AMS2) that you can fill out the grid with AI drivers. Yes, I can create a lobby in AC and ACC but no AI. My friend and I really enjoy racing together vs a full grid of AI. BTW, not only do salmon have legs, but sturgeon do also!!
Im AMS2 all the way although i do agree with mods ac can be great as well. To me comparing the two is like comparing a street car to a street car with track mods lol. I appreciate you acknowledged that by mentioning the out if the box comparison. I do believe once the mods catch up with ams2 it will be incredible they have already started mods for ams2.
as one of the 3 people who sim race in VR I can confirm that yes it will take over.
The differences are rather slight really and come down to personal preferences more then anything else. I find some cars better in AC then in AMS2 and some the other way around. Overall they both do an amazing job at simulating driving really fast around a track and both are a blast.
I find myself praising or cursing either of them mostly depending of how well a certain session went. I have had amazing experiences with both of them were I get really into the zone to the point were attacking the corners feels like an almost out of body experience. And I have had many occasions in both of them were my car control feels like my brain is just not up to the task of driving a car trough even the most gradual bend.
But overall the skills you use in translate well from one to the other so I would say they are more similar then they are different. Both have an pretty steep learning curve but if you are adept in one of them you'll have little trouble in switching to the other.
And both have a degree of realism that translates to real driving. I did some laps at the Nürburgring a while ago and the instructor picked up almost immediately that I was a sim driver. He said that sim drivers tend to know the driving line and breakpoints and show more confidence from the start. But after that experience I was also keenly aware that driving fast in a sim is still miles away from the real thing.
If slight is as great as driving on completely different compound tires in totally different conditions then sure.
AMS2 still has a long way to go to get to AMS1, RF2, AC - and those sims still have a way to go to reality.
AMS2 is overly static and calm to drive like difference between driving a super refined modern road car on road tires , vs an actual race car on slicks.
AMS2 is like driving with tons of assists on at all times.
All those games use largely the same "driving skills" though
I think that's the bigger thing with AMS2 last update , it might not capture specific cars or slick tires on a track and be overly calm but it reflects general driving quite well.
Well, AMS2 is my sim to go to practice and improve because of FFB and going to other sims like ACC I have a better knowledge of how to do with the car and go with more confidence there too and .. . well, it just works, I improve with similar times on the same tracks for the same or similar cars so I would give AMS2 the go for physics, if AMS2 is wrong then ACC and rF2 are also wrong for similar reasons (also given I drive defaults and not self made setups or exploit setups).
AMS2 also have all sorts of cars and have Nurb Nords, Interlagos and Monaco when I really want some fun time.

Sure, every sim have its pros and cons, every sim have its flaws but to me the physics aspect of driving more on the limits of the car is what matter, be it one sim have more or less play on the limit than the other but I want to keep improving my skills and understanding.
I want to be able to do VR so bad, but no matter how I try to build up the tolerance for it, VR makes me sick. Yet you have said that AMS2 tends to make you car-sick. In my case I can play AMS2 all day without issues. Interesting.
I only play in VR, so AMS2 was always my Go To.
But people are sleeping on iRacing. I tried it a few weeks ago out of curiosity, and it's the only one I've been playing since. It runs GREAT in VR. It feels GREAT.
It does come with like 10 tracks and cars, but obviously it's a fuggen drag that you have to pay for content. I've bought the f4, f3, SF, the new GT3 ferrari, and the GT4 Porsche. In a way, it's kind of freeing though - I'd always have trouble finding a GT3 car to "main". Well, since I spent 12 bucks on it, it has to be the ferrari now lol.
I don't want to be a shill. AMS2 is the best deal for VR out there. But it drives slightly different from AC, iRacing, and rfactor 2. Which bugs me slightly. They all have more upfront grip, which I think is probably more realistic. I know ams2 has improved alot, but the fact that all the other ones feel pretty similair and then ams2 feels slightly different is a detriment to the game, imho
But I just always dismissed iracing out of hand as a primarily single-player and VR racer. And it's been amazing. The graphics are so clean and clear, the AI is amazing, the laser-scanned tracks feel incredible - zandvoort is so different to drive than the AC one I have, so much more camber in parts than I thought. I run a 7800x3d and a 4080 for the record.
Thanks for the video comparisons. I enjoy both games and do my racing in VR mode. Each racing game I have has a different feel to them, which i expect. Once I got used to the differences and tweaked a few things, both games were fun to do some racing.

It's a shame they didn’t build AMS 2 on the RFactor 2 engine.
Both are great, AC and AMS2. I just don't understand how, outside of RF2, none of the sims have recreated the intuitive feeling of driving a car the way the nearly decade old AC has... not least of which is ACC. AMS2 feels "OK," but you can still feel a whole lot of PC2 in it.

I like AMS2, but I just added the weather effects to AC and I must say, that racing GT3 cars on the Nordschleife at night in a heavy thunderstorm was the most intense and exciting bit of driving I have ever done.
AMS2 is just like DiRT Rally, not quite a hardcore sim but it compensates elsewhere by having a good single player experience and great accessibility. I don't have patience or enough free time to mess around with mods anymore so I'm glad AMS2 exists, it's my go to sim nowadays. As many people have said it's definitely missing a career mode tough, the championships are fun but don't quite scratch that single player itch.
Honestly ac looks fun as hell but I just don’t want to mess with modding. Takes long enough getting all my buttons programmed and stuff. I’ll stick with the unmodded salmon legs in ams2 (but really im addicted to rf2 currently because tires)
I just wish the crowds/trackside sounds were a bit louder in AMS2, during the race the track atmosphere can feel a bit lifeless. I've no idea if real life drivers can hear the crowds, but without them it doesn't feel quite right.

Its weird because AMS2 feels kinda easy in some ways, but some cars are pretty hard to drive, harder than AC. The faster formula cars in AMS2 seem to be strange. Differential seems kinda baked and acts strange and certain situations make you lose traction for what feels like an eternity.
Because the physics engine fundamentally has some extremely terrible behaviour. Reiza just doing endless content updates won't fix any of this.

it's been almost 2 - 2.5 years and my main sim is AC. The amount of things that the game has with mods is astonishing to me, it's the best sim out there really. The game in sales is exaggeratedly cheap, and all the DLCs are also super cheap. But what I don't like is the AI, i struggle to have fun with them, so that is where AMS enters. I just started using it, and ist really fun to play against AI, i don't know about online because I never play online but I'm 100% sure it will be better. at the end of the day is all about taste and some games are better than others in different things, so my recommendation is after multiple racing games (AC, ACC, FM, GT, PC2, AMS2...) play what you like, no game is going to be perfect, if you're looking to buy your first sim, look for reviews but either way all of them are great :)
no game will be perfect, but when we talk about the same genre some games will be better than others and something will be at the top.
And I'll I want to drive is rFactor2 ranked right now, Porsche cup, Tatuus and GT3 has been some of the best racing I have done in a long time.

In terms of physics.. man.. until now AMS2 was little bit weird. Yesterday I participated in a Just race online event.. with GT4 at long beach. The Cayman is so damn good.. the FFB feels so rubberish, the imperfections of the ground, how it slides, how controlable it is..
I recommend to decrease the diff preloads always. 30-60NM and 4 spacers depending of the car.. no more slidy thing.

which one of Automobilista & iRacing have overwhelming long career mode with diverse cars similar to GT 7? berceuse im not into online racing. & which one of iRacing or Automobilista better in physics?
AC got one serious problem for me... the speed sensation... you are running at 250km/h and the feeling in monitor is... well, i'm just above 90km/h.... I did not try it with VR but on a monitor is a very bad problem for me...
I just bought both with DLCs this steam sale. Will be getting a wheel 🔜 to enjoy these games to the fullest

*Whadda ya mean "if you can't get both of them"? You could repeatedly buy these two sims and many more for just 10 bucks total. You can still buy Assetto Corsa complete edition on sale for dirt cheap. Just wait for Christmas discount. AMS2 you can also then get cheap. Its not a matter of choosing. Buy both during a sale!
Competent comments from GM. I play both. I still wonder how AC got the grip zone so well. (Plus the possibility to match AC closer to a real car, given you have the chance to compare.)

I love both. AC is always fun to mess around on - finding new mods etc... AMS2 is generally my go-to though when I just want to get on with it. Pick a random car, pick a random track and then have a really fun race. There are so many brilliant South American tracks on the game I've never raced around so can spend hours hotlapping and learning new tracks.
If you are playing assetto corsa in 2023 then you are playing it modded, which takes 30 min learn how to install. And then you have the best sim available
Salmon do have legs. I've settled on rFactor2 for the physics. I can't quite be bothered with getting Assetro Corsa set up, but maybe I should. Asseto Corsa Vs rFactor2 video would be useful!
The physics still aren't quite right on AMS2, but it's taken a giant leap forward in terms of playability. It was disappointing before, but with the online racing and new cars, it's a lot of fun now. If I need more realism physics wise, RF2 is still my go to.
Difficult choice....but in VR nothing beats AMS then again salmon do have legs so I love ❤️ them both really. 😅
Try LFS in vr, it is better, makes ams2 feel like an arcade game.
Very interesting video. I have a question: When you discuss force feedback, are you testing different wheel to come up with your conclusions? For istance I used AC with the old CSL belt drive and the semi-new DD 8Nm direct drive and it work very well with both, while with the thrusmaster TS-PC Racer you need some adjustments to get a good force feedback from the wheel. My judgement would probably be different dipending on the wheel I'm using.
any DD wheel over 8NM basically lets you feel what a sim can put out , to be honest CLE belt wheel can give a really good idea of the sims core ffb - but yah if you play on a T300,G293,TMX those wheels will have there own feel and hide the games actual FFB in some way.
I own 4+ DD wheels and have 5 or so review unit DD wheels and then maybe 4 or so other wheels I have collected and used over the years for many hours , so i feel like im in a good position to know how the wheels affect the games ffb / what does what and how.
I like both games. And you're 100% spot on about physics. AC is way superior. AMS2 feels like the car is constantly "floating" and you don't have even nearly the same "road feel" when you drive. AC ai is very track & car dependent. You can have a bad track ai and the ai then garbage. But try something like 1988 Spa and you'll notice the ai is excellent (when the ai drivers/cars have been given proper ai skill values). I just posted a video of Senna/Prost battle on 1988 Hermanos Rodrigues 1990 with RSS Formula 1 to my channel. The ai is superb and very competitive with that combo. Then pick 1988 Hungaroring and the ai is suddenly super slow. Maybe it's the track shape (lots of slow curves) but seems to be the case with every single Hungaroring I've tried. So AC has to have all dominoes together, properly done track ai and detail adjustments exactly done right on the champs files to get very good ai experience. But I really like AMS2 and I truly appreciate their approach with vintage F1 seasons. Just bought the newest classic track DLC. Big respect and support to them but they still have a lot of work to do before they can reach the AC overall driving experience, imho.

I love both. But just got a quest 2 and ams2 just works so well. I do want to get into assetto corsa with LFM for some online racing
I haven't played Assetto Corsa so I can't compare the feedback but if Assetto has worse feedback on cheaper SIM wheels (Logitech g29) than AMS 2 then something's going on. I've tried so many different settings in game and the feedback is the worst I've ever felt. It has made the game totally unplayable on entry point wheels. I can't feel anything and it's like racing on ice. I know you can install a custom feedback file. But to have feedback that's worse than Forza Motorsport well that says something. (I googled Forza settings for the G29 and it's actually pretty good once the settings are dialed in).

You said it all, the hole content management in AC is really annoying, also I love to play offline so with the bad AI (also in ACC) it makes worse, and only hot laping is also boring. Great video, I'm waiting for Le Mans Ultimate but maybe I would give AMS2 a try.
AC is very good with a gamepad if you use the right settings. Just stock AC gamepad settings, no mod. The best sim for gamepads, imo.

Just can’t get on with Assetto Corsa, it feels way too slow to me and can’t feel the cars at all, which is a shame as the mods and base content is great. Automobilista 2 and RaceRoom feel better in those ways for me but lack much modern content (or licenced in AMS2’s case), needs quality mods to fix all that. There’s no perfect sim but good that we have all these options
Been wanting a newer racing game for a while now, the game I still play is GTR2. I'm torn... I'm a singleplayer racer for the most part so AMS2 really appeals with the good AI... but... at the same time, AC having a "career mode" and better physics is very appealing as well. But, I suppose... no amount of physics, pretty visuals, and career mode means anything if the AI is completely inept.
Just got a SC2 Pro a few weeks ago, so I've been diving into these sims for first time this month. So far I love em both, but prefer AMS2 for graphics, interface, and AC for car physics and FFB detail.
I just can't get AC's menus looking right on my 4k 65" LG C1 .. Do you have to mod the game to get the menu interface to scale properly? Or maybe I've overlooked something in the settings?
Have you tried AC Content Manager? This is the way to go for AC. I use it for 65" LG C9

I started simracing last week after being away for many years. Started with setting up CM getting mods back etc, spent a day figuring out how to host in CM etc etc.
Yesterday I bought ASM2. Dl some cars and tracks and spent the whole morning reading and tweaking FF. Got it all working nicely in the end. BUT ASM2 is levels away from AC in all.
The FF in ASM2 I'm "positiv" Is not connected to tires at all. It feels like its 100% Weight and Springs, it's good information and I don't get any rattling in my old G25 ( Sold the good stuff )
So in terms of FF ASM2 is better on my G25 but that's because it's not based on tyre physics. That MOUNTAIN of info about FF settings, are there to create something out of thin air.
The tires is there in the physics, but only in theory. Step on the breaks.. Where's the FF? The REAL FF. No.. ASM2 is nothing like AC. And it's just as fiddly but you get 100x more in AC.
The only thing left (for me) that AC does that AMS2 does not: in AC, you can pick each and every single car in an offline match. Want to compare just this car vs. just that car? You can do it in AC. In AMS2 it only lets you pick a class. Since I only race offline, I sometimes like to do comparisons of two very similar cars, or even two very dissimilar, like a supercar vs. a formula car. Maybe one brand vs. another. If AMS2 had that ability, I think I'd finally be able to say goodbye to AC. And, of course, Salmon do have legs, silly.

As a VR only sim racer, AC is actually better than AMS2 when properly configured. It runs better too, particularly at night. Headlights in AMS2 utterly destroy performance. Not to say AMS2 is bad in VR at all, its fantastic, but AC is a cut above.

Ive been enjoying ams2 for quick races....the cars are driveable even if you have to learn about what drive train does. I hope ac2 people watch your channel it had potential to be the ultimate but not till three years after release of course.
Could play Porsche gt3 at Spa all day long in VR .. sooo fast and sweeping bends.
for me I started with AC which indeed is more fiddly than AM2 but a lot of fun but the single game experience is lacking. I find AM2 far easier to get the most of it straight away as this video explains. Hopefully AC Evo can bridge the gap between the plus points of these 2 sims.
