    I installed mine and they have a grinding noise everytime I turn, its not the wheels its the Springs.. sounds like when you close a old squeaky door from inside the car
    Thats with stock sport wheels.

    • @Fahrenheit_Motorsports
      @Fahrenheit_Motorsports  5 лет назад +2

      You need some silicon spray. Solves the problem in a quickness!
      Take the wheel off and spray anything that’s rubber on the shock and spring assembly. If you can take them out it’s better but it will most definitely solve the issue with just a basic spray.

    • @wildmangk
      @wildmangk 5 лет назад

      Fahrenheit Motorsports have you had this issue with these springs? Im thinking of using these but I keep reading that people have this problem with the Megan’s...

    • @Fahrenheit_Motorsports
      @Fahrenheit_Motorsports  5 лет назад +1

      I’ve had ZERO issues with my springs. Honestly all the issues I read about were noises after install due to proper lubrication. I failed to lubrication my passengers side when going through it and got rubber squeaks. I went back and hit them with lithium grease (very similar to what Honda uses) and it cleared up all sounds. I’ve been riding on them around 9k and they are holding up fine. Stock shocks are also in good order. I checked them when I rotated my tires 👌🏽
      Have no fear man, you’ll be pleased with the product if done right.

    • @Fahrenheit_Motorsports
      @Fahrenheit_Motorsports  5 лет назад +3

      Yes that’s an super easy fix! Usually when people swap out the springs they fail to lubricate them like Honda did from the factory. If you get some white lithium grease spray from an auto parts store, you can spray it on all the areas where spring meets rubber. Hit that all your issues go away. 👌🏽👌🏽

    • @Fahrenheit_Motorsports
      @Fahrenheit_Motorsports  5 лет назад +1

      Few things to check. Usually that 1 of two things. You didn’t seat the strut correctly into the knuckle or you didn’t torque down the end links and it’s banging around.
      For the strut just make sure your aligned with the groove in the knuckle and the strut is tightened down to spec at the pinch bolt. I just mentioned to another guy, make sure you are properly lubricated where the spring meets rubber. Use some white lithium grease spray from any auto parts store.

    • @X3mSean
      @X3mSean 5 лет назад

      Fahrenheit Motorsports good news! I went back in and used my camera to see the back side, the bottom rubber had slipped from the new spring so the spring was basically sitting on top of metal, causing every bump to make a clanking noise. I used some grease and slipped the rubber back under and all is good now!
      Now with alignments, my car goes perfectly straight and doesn’t pull either left or right, would you still recommend an alignment?

    • @lornval
      @lornval 4 года назад

      @@X3mSean it would still be beneficial to get an alightment just to adjust the toe. It may drive straight but the toe being off due to lowing the car could cause uneven ware.

    • @Fahrenheit_Motorsports
      @Fahrenheit_Motorsports  5 лет назад +1

      No issues for me. You’ll need to lubricate the rubber mounting points that the spring makes contact with. From the factory they were slathered with a mint/teal looking lithium grease that stops any noise or binding. That’s usually the main cause of the clunk (binding and release of energy) but of course check the usual suspects:
      •Tophat torqued to spec
      •Shock mounted in spindle and aligned with pin hole in rear
      •Sway bar end links are tight

    • @Fahrenheit_Motorsports
      @Fahrenheit_Motorsports  5 лет назад

      There was but the suspension hasn’t hit them. I was actually more worried about keeping as much life in the stock shock as possible. These damn shocks are about the same cost as a top of the line coilover setup so rather then pulling out all the stops to drop her I just did the springs. Great tips though, I’ve used that on every car I’ve owned back in the day. 🤙🏽

    Great video bro! Thank you. Just a maybe-dump-question: I'm shopping for a lowering spring for my 1.5T and I notice some seller tag specific engine size sub model on product, so I'm wondering 1.5T and 2.0T can use same spring or I have to purchase a particular one for 1.5T?

    • @Fahrenheit_Motorsports
      @Fahrenheit_Motorsports  4 года назад

      They tag it because the spring rates cover the addition weights due to engine size. So if you get springs for a 1.5 and you have a 2.0, expect sagging.
      And on the flip side, if you get springs intended for 2.0 and you have a 1.5 you might not get the lowering effect you want.

    • @Fahrenheit_Motorsports
      @Fahrenheit_Motorsports  5 лет назад +1

      The car feels good. The car soaks up bumps like it did before but the center of gravity is lower so the car feel planted. They are stiff when you need support going into corners. I’ve always love springs if they are paired with good shocks. The accord has really good stock shocks in my opinion.

Have you had any rubbing at all over large speed bumps, or potholes? Or driveways with a big dip? How about alignment? Do you notice any pull left/right when you take your hands off the steering wheel? Just a heads up, you should get a tripod for instructional videos. Basically get a regular camera tripod and buy the cellphone mount piece that attaches to the tripod. Then you can do the entire install without having to hold the cell phone. Or camera..... :)

  • @MrFkey67

    To my knowledge, these cars have “active dampeners” and when you switch to sport mode (stock car) it firms up the suspension. So when you put after-market suspension on the car, is that system affected in a way that you need to do anything about it? I guess this applies to tuning the car as well. It’s just something I haven’t been able to get an answer on from people that I’m curious about.
    But your accord looks sick, I plan on getting one here soon and modding it

    • @SeanGoVroom
      @SeanGoVroom 5 лет назад +1

      Forrest Key if you get lowering springs it will not affect this system, but coilovers will definitely affect this system. I don't believe he has the touring model though, it's the touring that has adaptive dampers

    any negative camber ?

    • @Fahrenheit_Motorsports
      @Fahrenheit_Motorsports  5 лет назад +1

      The rear is about 1.2 out of alignment with negative camber. You’ll need camber arms UNLESS your running wider wheels then stock. Most of the guys running wider wheels leave the stock arms and the wheels tuck up nice in the fender. If you leave stock wheels, it looks kinda bad lol. But I would imagine your going to get nice wheels so stock camber would be okay.
      When I say wide wheels, 9 to 10.5 inches with a 265 series in the back.

    Alright man. You've been super helpful with this and I really appreciate it but, I gotta throw a couple more questions your way. I have re-watched this vid getting ready to finally tackle this job next weekend. You mention an allen wrench and it's not listed in the description. You also never go back to it in the vid after you re-install the front shock. That top mount is the last thing that really worries me. You also don't show releasing the tension from the spring after you get it out. I have never used those so curious as to how it works to release the pressure. Thanks again.

    • @Fahrenheit_Motorsports
      @Fahrenheit_Motorsports  5 лет назад +1

      So long story short, you’ll want to back that nut off while the suspension is still on the car. Leave a thread or two so you can still remove the whole assembly from the car in one piece. Once it’s out of the car, you can continue to unscrew the bolt until it’s free of the shock.
      Here is the tricky part - If you compress the spring so there isn’t any pressure on the top hat, the nut will not unscrew off the strut. It will actually just spin in place. Having some pressure on the top hat keeps the strut rod in place so you can unscrew that nut nice and easy. But if you have to much pressure on the top hat and you unscrew that nut it will shoot across the room. I always keep a towel over the assembly when unscrewing that nut and work with my hands and tool under it just in case I get the ratio wrong. What I typically do is use the spring compressor tool to compress the spring until top hat moves freely. From that point back off the compression tool a little bit on each side until that strut rod no longer rotates when you move the nut still attached. Once you’ve reached that point and the rod no longer freely spins, place your towel or blanket over the top hat, get your wrench and slowly unscrew the nut until it pops off. If you found the right pressure on the top hat, the nut will remove like normal and there will be no movement in the spring assembly. If there is to much pressure on the top hat when you unscrew the nut it will jolt and scare you. Lol
      It’s not hard to complete that step but it takes care precaution to make sure you aren’t going to injure yourself or damage anything. That is by far the most time consuming part of the change out. After you do front shock 1, front shock 2 will be a breeze.
      When you reassemble the shock with the new spring, you will NOT need to compress anything. You will be able to get 2-3 rotates of the nut (because there isnt pressure on the top hat) but once you get the unit in the car and dropped down on the wheels, you can torque it down with a wrench.
      Also if you need more help...cause this response was long winded and may not make sense, hit me up on IG private message so we can exchange pictures and chat.

Doesn't make noise while at speed, only when moving slowly in like a parking lot. Do you think it could be unseated properly? I'm going to remove that side today and check it out.

    • @Fahrenheit_Motorsports
      @Fahrenheit_Motorsports  5 лет назад

      Yes it could be but it’s most likely not lubricated and that’s why it’s making the noise. When it’s out, hit everything with some white lithium grease. All the rubber areas that make contact with the chassis.

    • @Fahrenheit_Motorsports
      @Fahrenheit_Motorsports  5 лет назад +1

      Yeah the stock suspension floats really well. When you lower it, it tightens things up. It feels the same on normal roads but on really bad bumpy roads is where you’ll feel the stiff springs. I think the improved handling is definitely worth the trade off. It rides on rails now with no oversteer on it what so ever.

    Awesome tutorial - but what jacking point did you use to get your car onto the stands?

    • @Fahrenheit_Motorsports
      @Fahrenheit_Motorsports  5 лет назад

      I put the jack about 3 inches inwards of the designated jack points, on the frame supports. They are thick and can support the weight of the car. I then lowered the car onto the jacks which made contact with the designated points. Both the stands and the jack are right next to each other during this process with no additional room to move so get it right. Anything off the frame supports (a single fold of metal vs double fold) can and will cause the jack to puncture into the cabin. Don’t do it 😂
