This JDM all black version looks way better IMO than the oem chrome/dirty smoke chrome options from the dealer. I have the accord sport with the ebay black overlay and I find it just looks a little too "thick", like a pasted on look, so Im probably gonna go this route instead. Hopefully my install goes as smoothly as yours. This even adds an even more muscular front end look.
I just bought a replacement grill for my 22 touring thanks for the video….i was thinking I had to take the whole freaking bumper off.
Thanks for the video. Gave me confidence to try removing grille to replace my chrome emblem with the black gloss Honda one.
Although not the official way, grille removal is possible without removing the bumper. After the top clips are removed as op shows, the grille has enough play to pull forward and get you hand in there with a stubby flathead screwdriver to release the clips.

Nice! I have the same issue and plan on replacing the same section of my grill too. Pain in the butt to keep clean.
It’s a lot harder than it looks to take that part off. I removed the whole bumper so I could get to everything. Yours looks good though. Love the all black look.

This grille is harder to get off than it looks that is if you don't want to break anything. I just take the bumper off

Hey man thanks for the video. Question: Is the original emblem the same size as the one that's on the JDM grill?
I love the way the black looks on the front. I just bought a 2017 EXL V6. Same color as yours(metallic grey). I want to do the same to my grill but I have chrome handles and really like them. What color are yours? I also want to change my Honda emblem to the chrome with the red background. Nice ride you have.

I’m so sorry that I haven’t done the part two video with step by step but I did find this manual that shows where the retaining clips are located you do not have to take off the bumper to clip them even though it would make it easier

I was so excited to get my grill. I ordered from the link you have in the description and the grill came with all kinds of blemishes and a scratch 🤦♂️

I bought the same exact grille. Mine started coming off a little over time. It doesn’t fit perfectly. Highly recommend OEM black grille instead.
@@Rip84LW I just picked up the OEM one with chrome accent as I actually prefer that. I could always wrap it black later if I decide to do a full on chrome delete. I just picked up a 20 Touring and don't mind all the chrome but just wanted a little less in the front. Plus it's nice to have something different then what's out there. Gonna put this on in a couple of days.
I went with OEM cause I wanted a perfect fit. I know it's more expensive but it might be worth it knowing that it won't give me any issues later on.

How come no one tries plasti dipping or vinyl wrapping this piece? Not sure if i should spend the money on this or just do the cheaper alternatives
Where did you get the emblem for the new grille. I have the black emblem before but I notice it doesn’t cover the little circle of the plastic on the center piece.
Really looks good with the gray paint color. That's my favorite color on the new Accords. I'm planning to buy a 2.0T Touring in the gray color. Do you think this grill would look okay on the Touring?

Just purchased this same grill, should be here late this coming week. Trying to prepare myself as much as possible. All other videos I see show removal of the whole bumper being necessary. How difficult was it to get the lower tabs without removing the entire bumper. Also, I assume you had to purchase a new "H" badge separately? Do you possibly have a part number on that? Thanks for the video!

How did u manage to pop those clips out that are holding the grille on. I tried to avoid taking the entire bumper off but it was a pain!
It wasn’t easy I ended up using a small flat head but after you get the hang of it the fly off
@@testitralph8467 How long of a flat screw driver and how wide would your recommend the tip of the screwdriver be? Should I twist it or do you need to wedge it between something. Maybe you could show a video on the how you did it based on the piece you took off.
I have the same problems with the water stains and bugs how were you keeping it clean need to find some cleaning products

Is your car the sport? If so, where did you get the grill. According to the dealer. The grill on the 10rh gen sport is different than all other 10th gen models. It’s not a direct fit.
What did you use for the red strip in the front of the Yofer lip?

how did you remove the chrome grille? You said let's go and there is no actual video removing the grille

Hi Ralph, have you had any issues with this product? Are there any gaps at all or does everything fit perfect with no gaps?
At first i did after a day the passenger side had a little small gap but i fixed it by removing it and bending the retaining clips upwards if you apply some heat with a heat gun it makes it easier but after that i had no more issues

Did the actual Honda emblem come included with the purchase of the grille? I am using your link provided in the description and it doesn't show that it comes with it..
No I came without the Honda emblem but you can reuse yours just apply it back with 3M tape
Where did you get the black grille? Is it OEM from a Honda dealership or some type of aftermarket part?

I purchased a new after market emblem but you can reuse your old emblem

just go to pepboys they have there for 6 bucks its called red pin stripe in vinyl red
How is this any different from the one you can put on with 3M tape?? It looks the same and you can protect the OEM
It is different the jdm one resembles the civic type r one the oem those not sink in
The opposite actually. The 3M grill covers actually destroys your original grille underneath. The tape just doesnt come off, bonds to the chrome. This seems like a better option and looks sleeker
Since your install are you satisfied with the product did it fade with the sun ever since you got it?
It has actually held up pretty good paint hasn’t faded it shines like new the only thing was in the beginning was the fitment because i took a short cut and didn’t remove the bumper I didn’t get all the retaining clips to latch all the way so i had to remove the front bumper to get to them
But that was my fault

2018 have it easier to modify the front grille 😫 on the 2016-17 you gotta remove the whole front bumper to change the grille

No that’s what I love about it the original black chrome would get stained so easy these stay pretty clean doesn’t get water stains

could have done a better job of removing the original grill. there are at least 3 clips I couldn't figure out.

No it didn't i went ahead and purchased a red pinstripe kit from autozone
The lip you linked doesn't have the red stripe and I can't find it anywhere. Could you help me out?

@@testitralph8467 Thanks for the link! I just bought the lip, & I was wondering how you got the red strip on the lip. It makes the front lip spoiler stand out! Looks great on your Accord. I have a white 2019 Accord Turbo 2.0...and the red strip will look great! Did you place the trim before or after installation?
Had some issues with the top clips they didnt clip on to the bumper no matter what i did

No I didn’t remove the bumper but it was a little bit more difficult I were to do it again i would remove it

Did you have any body gap issues?
Body gap initially it was a little off due to the fact that i didn't secure all the retaining flips all the way and it popped off from the top a little but after securing them in correctly its good

This grill is NOT the exact replica of the original.
If you can live with that go for it.
