I’m with you man. I bought my Glock 19 Gen 3 and that gun and I have been through so much. It’s been scraped up, covered in sweat, mud and blood. It’s been through 3 pairs of sights and eats everything I put through it. I’ve tried out newer guns from Gen 5s to Sigs and Beretta and I always went back old trusty. I don’t know why but something is special about it and I think people forget that as newer and “improved” stuff comes out.
Word for word I agree the Glock 19 gen3 is my favorite. It was my favorite duty weapon. At one time in my career we were all forced to carry the same weapon, a Glock 22. That 40 caliber was the only Glock I've ever had that malfunctioned and I never had any failures with the 19 or 36. Unfortunately finances caused me to sell my 19 gen3 to get the 22. Now that I'm retired my choices for a gun is my own and not someone else's. I recently purchased a 100% mint 19 gen3, I have since purchased additional OEM magazines for it and ordered the original Glock case with cleaningvrod and bore brush. I just like the feel of the gen3 over the 4th and 5th gen guns.
I also recently picked up a G19 Gen 3. Working on breaking it in. Added a Hogue sleeve to improve the grip just a little. Not sure if I’ll keep it on though. Did upgrade the sights to Ameriglo. It’s a nice gun. My favorite is the G19X and I’d have that one all of the time if I could. Will eventually add a Gen V 19 to the arsenal and rotate that one in as well. I do prefer the slide shape and squareness of the pre Gen V guns. Other than the sights, I won’t change anything else. Everything stock. I won’t stipple a gun either although I am curious of how that texturing feels on a grip. I did miss out on the RTF generation of pistols before Glock did away with it. I liked it but too many seemed to whine and cry about it I recall. I wanted one.
I have several guns, but I would have to agree the last one I would own if I had to sell them all would be my Glock 19 Gen 3. I just got it a couple weeks ago and I absolutely love it. I've always heard so much good and never anything bad about Glocks and I've wanted one for a long time. I love the way it functions. Such simplicity and dependability, yet so affordable. Just a genius design, IMHO.

You won’t regret the gen5. I like mine better than my 20 year old gen3. That’s not to say there is anything wrong with a gen3, mine is still as relevant as the day I bought it. My gen five is as reliable and I like the removal of the finger groves as well. I also have the G 45 and I prefer the gen five triggers and lack of finger groves. All that said, a Glock is a Glock.cant go too far wrong with any gen of any Glock you choose.
I agree with everything you said here, I have the same pistol & it's my favorite of all the ones I have. Glock19, Ruger GP-100 4" & Remington 870 are my go to guns if it hits the fan - especially the Glock19.
I bought a Gen 5 G45 close to a Glock 19 and it’s snappy compared to my Gen 3 Glock I think the single spring is just smoother and I agree Gen 3 19 is my favorite also!👍🏼🤯🔫
I’m fortunate enough to have more than one G19. I have a range gun that’s identical to my carry/home defense gun. The range gun is cleaned every 1000-1500 rounds and the only time it’s every malfunctioned was a ammo issue. You might try talon grips. It makes a big deference. If you don’t like them just take them off. Another great vid sir.

Jack Daniels is better than scotch,,lol.But honestly,the Gen 3 19 is the best Glock has come out with.But most important,Talon Grips makes this gun's grip so much better,not just for shooting in the rain but makes the ergos feel so much better.Talon's just work for me,the ones with the rubberized grips.I have them on almost all of my semi auto pistols.I also keep my Glocks stock from the factory.Why add something that isn''t needed.New subber here.
Every new pistol to me is a Glock. I just love them. God willing, next one is a Gen V 21 or 20. Maybe a 26. Eventually a 19. Favorite is the 19X. Someday a 17 as well. The remakes of the original 17 are nice. Only other gun interesting to me is the CZ 75. The full size and the compact one. Other than that, I only care for Glock pistols.
My first glock was 43x bought the 2 tone one when they first came out couple years ago. And I just purchased the Gen 3 G19 brand new for $499 paid $165 out the door with trade in credit.
Just bought my first gun. Happy to have learned that I have made a fine choice. I have only shot 50 rounds and I just love it. Can't wait to shoot some more. It is a fun and easy to shoot gun. What a great first gun!

Like you my gen 3 Glock 19 has sentimental value to me.Sure i have M&P 's that feel better in my hand and are more physically appealing,but if i had to keep just one......it would be my gen 3 Glock 19.Mine is all stock except for the night sights i put on it, which I do to all of my pistols
My gen3 19 is my do all dagger. I'll go to the grave with it. As for the finger grooves..they went to the grave a long time ago. Feels great in the hand!
Rocking a glock gen 3 23C and I don’t get the bitch’n about the trigger either. It’s actually pretty great. Glad I got the 23 as I can drop in conversion barrels for 9mm and .357sig.
GUN METAL ya on my 26 it’s really showing only after around 1000. I hadn’t shot this much after I picked up my gen 5. I just used it in. A competition last week and shot it better then my 34. I love this gun
Tomorrow I'm buying my first ever Glock. It's a Gen 3 Model 19. The finger grooves are obnoxious, and will be the first thing I modify. I understand Gen 5 Glocks don't include finger grooves. Interesting they decided to do that.
I couldn't live with myself if I didn't clean my guns after every trip to the range. To even think that I would shoot several thousand rounds through my G19 Gen 3 (or any other of my firearms) and leave it in the safe uncleaned upsets me to no end. Just sayin'.
I baby all my guns if they take damage during regular usage or during Cary duty that's fine but I still baby my guns every one of them I love them I don't like to see them hurt or damaged that's all even if you use a hammer and it's your favorite Hammer you want to keep it nice you don't want to damage it growing up the kids that took care of their toys sold their toys as adults and made lots of money off of them the kids that left their toys in the gutter or in the mud not so much
Die Hard same here. I’m not trying to prove I’m tough by tossing my gun on the rocks. Same with my knives. Like the hammer I have very nice knives and use them. But I don’t go around trying to mess them up

When you clean the gun do you also clean the talon grips too?

Ya the 19 is a very nice size. Not to big and not to small. I’d look for a gen 5 though be they are for right or left handed shooters.
