today during the flexibility training class, teachers are helping my classmates and me to do the passive stretching training for flexibility, this is important if you want to dance more elegantly. the teacher asked me to lay on the mats, take a deep breath and relax, then they grab my legs and slowly push my legs to 180 degrees, this is a very effective way to get the middle split despite it is a little painful. so we have been told to shout it out when we feel the pain. because shouting can help we inhale and exhale, which can relax our tighten muscle, can reduce the pain, can let us stick to the end, and gain flexibility.

Please don't imitate the training in this video by yourself. The students in the video are the professional that have been studying for more than years and teaching under professional supervisor, so they dare to train students like this.
The students in the video are challenging to a higher level of flexibility, so the training of the teachers is more strict. But this kind of training is harmless because the students have already warmed up before the training, the bones and muscles have been totally relaxed, after the training, the students will get the corresponding auxiliary massage to eliminate the muscle pain.
Everyone has limited ability to withstand the pain, so you can see some of the students shouting in the video, and some students are not. but This is good in flexibility training, If it is not painful, that means students have not broken his or her own limit, then he or she will not make progress, and such pain is controllable. also shouting helping them inhale and exhale, relax the tighten muscle, relieve the pain, then they can hold in that position for enough time, that is the goal when doing the flexibility stretching.
the students in this video are all adults, they pay tuition to learn, so they knew what they need to go through, and they recognize the teaching method.

If you have a good Master, like I do, you won't be forced into this. This is an antiquated way and causes long term damage to the joints and groin.
This’ll be pretty easy coming back to this training especially because I could do splits before I joined but it’ll be a tiny bit hard cuz I haven’t done the splits since I slipped twice into a split

I am learning TKD and kung fu and I know it actually works like this... Don't know about your way of training and I respect whatever that is but I tell you, I went through all of these till I can do my standing over splits now... It is suppose to be like this, "no pain, no gain." Just imagine you doing the real sparring or real fight, I don't believe you're not going to be hurt. They're going to beat you up and now if you're not used to the pain imagine the struggle you're going to have... It is not suppose to be easy! You have to unleash you're warrior spirit.
And oh! I can say that they're real martial artist indeed and I'd love to have this kind of training rather than the easy one! Because fake ones do not like to undergo trainings such as these. They don't want to get hurt, they want less effort and only just to look good and in the end, the foundation becomes very weak...

제가 5학년때 태권도에 겨루기 대회를 나가기전 스트레칭을 이 영상과 똑같이 사범님들이 제 양쪽 다리를 잡고, 벽에 따가 밀어서 억지로 했습니다.(제 기준에서는 참을 만했습니다. 소리 지를정도로;...)그리고, 저렇다고 죽지는 않습니다. 어차피 시간이 지나고, 나이를 먹으면 근육이 굳어서 월레 상태로 돌아옵니다.(feat사범님)

It depends on the school and instructor. Some schools go hard. Others ease you in.

Some of these kids are probably poomsae competitors. I, myself am one too and I had to go through this as well. It hurts but no pain no gain. If you look at poomsae training videos a lot of these athletes will do this too.
I remember when I was a white belter they did this to me, I can still feel the pain lmao but like they say : no pain no gain.

Believe me whatever anyone says its not like they do it just after the person's joined. They first stretch a little bit and then increase it. If you try to practice these everyday, just stretch a bit not more than that, then you will never feel this much pain

Our instructor does this in our class but he won't force us to do a full split well do lotus position and he'll sit on our knees and hold it for a certain amount of time. When we do splits theres black belts that will sit across from us with their feet on our ankles pusing our ankles out gradually over a period of time and they'll hold our hand and pull us inward gradually. We're not forced to go into a full splits right away.
