    I am not sure about the postal service as I believe it’s on a decline. However, you see the occasional postal carriage attached to a few longer distance 莒光號 trains including the Friday overnight 666 service.
    There is actually a bento shop in the shape of the decommissioned 紅斑馬自強號(red zebra stripe) trains at the corner before familymart and after gogo sushi takeout. 6:05
    Usually people reserve bento from the trolley since sometimes the trolley sell out if don’t reserve.
    The four languages in announcements are English, Mandarin, Hokkien (Taiwanese), Hakka, Aboriginal (can’t rmb what is the exact English name) at taitung region
    Love Taiwan, not a resident myself, but I’m a Singaporean Chinese who have to go Taiwan very frequently. Relatable culture and friendly place.

      @@Trainviking The max operation speed is 130 km/h now. Whether this is the fastest service or not, please refer to the time table issued by TR. (the fastest service to the eastern part will be operated by either EMU3000, TEMU1000, or TEMU2000)

    Ever search for the News of this train?
    The dude who was responsible for the “Oopsie😊” of 2021, ended up being promoted to “Minister of Foreign Affairs “ now.
    The view is good, but there are frequent earthquakes in Hualian recently, so I will advice to wait it to cool down if you want to go.
    The hot springs there are great. Please try it if you can.
    I am afraid of taking trains to their due to the “Oopsie😊” few years ago, so I usually rather fly or drive there.
    They still find some “interesting things” three years after the Oopsie.
    It’s just a me thing, I’m too sensitive.
    please feel free to take the train if you wanted to.

    A genuine deep freezer on wheels, so NEVER EVER forget to bring thick winter clothing especially in the summer because you will terribly regret it if you don't, oh yeah and they also put kinda airplane size windows in it so not much to see outside either: TERRIBLE.

      Really? I didn't travel in summer though, however the temperature I had during my journey was totally fine.

      @@Trainviking depends from person to person a lot, I am one of those who is always sensitive to air conditioning, so, for me that's quite a thing... for others, they may even find it a little too warm. at least, that was my experience with the MRT and many of the Limited Express trains in japan... do not know the Taroko specifically.
      personally, always preferred the old slow express trains if I got the chance... in Taiwan though, I had a chance only to try the small local trains on what I believe was a private line (within New Taipei)... that strange little train that runs from Xinmendin towards the north.
      extensively used the Bus network though, as I was staying outside the city.
