    I like Alan's commentary, he did a great job and knows more than me, he can indeed stay in Taiwan as a tour guide!
    Brandi has a great eye for art and notices every detail of the temple every time!

      @@IfWeGoToIn addition to the old block of Tamsui City, go north along the north coast all the way to the east, along the road you can reach Repulse Bay, Baisha Bay, Laomei, Shimen Cave, Jinshan, Wanli, Yehliu, Dawulun, Keelung Port.
      There are quite a few large and small scenic spots along the road, as well as famous local snacks and some seasonal activities. For example, special geographical terrain, the only remaining fishing method in the world, temples dedicated to loyal dogs, temples made of shells, flying umbrellas, kite festivals, abundant crabs in autumn, etc.
      Traveling in Taiwan, the transportation is very convenient, but I recommend bicycles or motorcycles the most. When you see the scenery you like, you can stop and enjoy it if you want. The only difficulty is the climate in Taiwan. In addition to being hot and rainy, you may often get wet from the rain when riding a bicycle, which will spoil your mood, hahaha.😂

    Tamsui is one of my favorite parts of the city! Quick tip: the most common pronunciation sounds like "dahn-shway", which is how the majority of Mandarin speakers would say it. The Mandarin transliteration is Danshui and is a better indication of the modern pronunciation; Tamsui is based on the previous transliteration style but both are the same word, meaning "fresh water".
    By the way, just wanted to call out again that your B-roll is SO good. You have a wonderful eye for cool subjects and framing, and you're able to make it look artistic and vibey but not overly try-hard and artificial. Your little transitional montages manage to really convey the whole feel and energy of a place in just a few brief shots, which isn't easy. I know you're still working through the audio (which is totally understandable) but your video is already punching way above your weight. Keep it up guys, you're doing awesome!
    Also I died at Alan's uh colorful Subway joke 😂 Gotta keep getting Alan to come out of his shell, he is lowkey hilarious when he gets sassy and spicy.

    • @IfWeGoTo
      @IfWeGoTo  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you for the tips!! We definitely pronounce things wrong - allll of the time! lol. So we appreciate you taking the time to point it out so we can try to fix it! :D
      Also thank you!!! Filming B-roll is my favorite so that makes me very happy to hear you enjoy it!! We're hoping to upgrade our camera soon here too - ours is a bit old and shaky!! lo.. And I have a new cord sitting in my online shopping cart! I'm very bummed the cord we had has made the audio sound so weird and we filmed the whole Taiwan series with it. 🥲 There's always the next one I suppose!
      I definitely should include more of Alan's jokes! He is just FULL of them! lol
      Thanks again!!

He did the research and absorbed it, and put it in plain English for us to gain more insight into the history and events. I also learned from watching every video Brandi and Alan uploaded. They should apply for future ambassador positions if they ever get tired of filming.

    The milk tea sold on the streets of Taiwan can usually adjust the sweetness and the proportion of ice cubes. The sweetness is usually divided into 3, 5, 7, full sugar, and 4 levels. The number of ice cubes is divided into no ice, a small amount of ice cubes, and a lot of ice cubes.😘

I don't think I've ever arrived at the Tamsui MRT station on the MRT. I always walked to Tamsui through the mangroves. Too bad it was raining. The view across the river is very beautiful. I also love the White Customs Building. There is a giant hole in the backyard of that building from the French bombing Tamsui.

      Did an early trip to the harbour , very cool art work and coast guard boats , could even interact with the crew :-)
      Going back into town , I heard crackers go off , music to my ears .
      One huge religious parade . I found a spot just after midday , walked home around 6 pm .
      Apparently , for some , outside my room was the end of the road for some , last arrivals after 7 pm !

    • @bctvanw
      @bctvanw 11 месяцев назад +1

      Ming was overthrown by the Manchus in 1644, but Koxinga came in 1662.
      Koxinga was a Ming royalist, but he did not represent Ming.
      Koxinga was actually born in Japan to a Japanese mother.
      CCP, KMT, and Japanese all use Koxinga for propaganda from a different POV.
      Also, Koxinga was viewed differently among the European, aboriginals, and the early immigrants from China.
      btw. After Koxinga kicked out the Dutch in Tanan area(Tayoan), the Dutch did not leave, but stayed in Tamsui and coexist with Kingdom of Tungning for 4 years. This part was rarely mentioned.
      Japan did not occupy Taiwan. Taiwan became part of Japan in 1895 through a treaty. ROC/China even had a Chinese consulate in Taihoku/Taipei in 1930s before WWII began. Use keywords, such as "Formosa 1930, Taihoku...etc." to search 1930s Taiwan, you will see a different world which was hidden because of the old KMT regime that wanted to promote Taiwan as "True China", but Taiwan had a total different culture back then.
      ROC did not kick out Japanese. It was USA that did the decision. KMT was shipped by the US navy in 1945 to accept Japan's surrender, but used the chance to seize Taiwan. Officially, Japan gave up Taiwan in 1952 after the Peace Treaty was signed in 1951, but did not say Taiwan was given to ROC. However ROC went into exile in 1949 to Taiwan.
