I mean, not gonna lie, the "I need more than you can offer me" part always makes me chuckle, a wonderful love story cut short by "I like another guy, you're not my type" is almost surreal in such a song.
Yep. And also when right after the guy practically confesses his love asking if she remembers that special romantic night, she says "Ah, dear friend, I remember". Poor guy was friendzoned right from the start of the song.

I love Emppu;s solos with Nightwish because it sounds like his guitar is welling with emotion and actually singing its heart out. One awesome example is his Creek Mary's Blood solo

Tuomas is amazing beyond amazing. One of the most "Stand up" Gentlemen that I know of as far as Celebrities go. And many People Out there don't know this Band at all. Their Music saved Me...He's a Genius among Geniuses. But He's the most humble, non flamboyant Person who was blessed with this ability of His. He's EXTREMELY hard Working, and simply BRILLIANT in all He does. In short, Tuomas IS Nightwish.

Each of the Souls who played the Roles so fine in which they were given; From ALL OF THEM, I could absolutely not imagine ANYONE else...No matter HOW similar in Look, Sound, Performance, etc...being able to recreate even an "UMPTEENTH percent" of ANYTHING that the Band Nightwish, rocking Out with it's "Original 5" - Tuomas, Emppu, Jukka, Marco, and....Miss Tarja, Herself.
When it came to THIS particular Comment I was making, I was directing it towards the Song's Vocals construction, as well as the means of the VOICE...from the Singer, heh. Didn't mean for it to sound like I'm completely writing off Everyone else; Haha, trust Me, that was truly not My intention!

It's so surreal hearing Tuomas sing. He doesn't have a bad voice but, especially next to the power of Marco's voice, I can see why he prefers not to sing. He has much more power in his writing than his voice and Nightwish vocalists require so much power in their voices to match his writing.

Too many songs on the setlist to cover every Nightwish song they have. Sacrament of Wilderness, Passion and the Opera, Crownless, Dead to the World, Blood Creek Mary & FantasMic are rarely played.
Oh my God, let's all praise for Tuomas, the MASTER OF NIGHTWISH!!!! He should be singing in more songs... I'm STILL confused that he just won't say anotherr word in another song, I mean- LISTEN! HE'S PERFECT!!

They redid a few songs with Sonata Arctica was kinda sad when they changed the words to one of them. :(

You mean redo the whole first one with Floor? That'd be interesting to hear. Wish that album didn't release in Finland only when it first came out. It's decent quality for what they did record with. ^^
They should record a greatest hits album! (they would need at least 3 cd's to record al the songs) I'm very curious how floor would do Amaranth ;)
There are songs that have vocal ranges, and tessituras that only few like Tarja can achieve, but still; it would be great to have all those old songs remade!

@constantine131 Toumas is the singer. He did all the vocals for the Angels Fall first album. Tony was only in the 2001 Astral Romance remake and "Over the hills and Far away" in fact"Angels Fall First was the only album Toumas did all the male vocals. On tour though in concert Tony did sing all of the male vocals because one of Toumas's worst fears was singing in front of an audience he felt he wasn't good enough which is why he doesn't sing vocals on any album after "Angels Fall First"

Ciprian Filipas Tony sang it live(and apparently a redone version?), This is the Angels Fall First album that Tuomas actually sang on as well as "The Carpenter" He actually sang this song live once, there was a video out on it, but he never did it again..he was too embarrassed, lol

IIRC, in one documentary, Tuomas mentioned listening resrospectively to his vocals from AFF, regretted having sung them, and gave up attempting to sing

We have to admit his voice is still way less trained than Tarja's. The contrast is kinda grunge. Think he would be a nice grunge singer, tho.

Well, the guy you hear in this song is Tuomas Holopainen, that's the only song he sang in.. After performing it, he said that he will never record him singing again, or something like that.. But yeah, the girl (Tarja Turunen) usually sing all of their old songs

Back in the first time I found Nightwish and started listening to them, even if they became my #1 band of all time in an instant, this song was one of the worst Nightwish songs and I didn't like it. But since im musician, and I fell in love with this band, I started listening carefully to every single part of all their songs again and again to learn and check. Well, this song musically is really amazing. It has things that are very hard to find in a song. Boring to explain, and im sleepy right now.
And this solo is just wonderful... so wonderful...

when i first heard this song me and my bro thought the girl was a boy and panicked... then i started listening to it more then i finally found out it was a girl... played it SOOOOOOO many times in front of my bro that he started to like it... he got mad at me 'cause he got addicted to it and i'm like "haha XD"... now i love this song... BUT, if i haven't listened to it for a while, i kinda giggle in the beginning before the song really starts... i love this song though :) just like Evanescence:D
