2:42 This picture here is taken of an empty cottage in Levi. Nobody lives there, it doesn't actually even have a proper floor. That's because it was built in 2007 for a movie called Joulupukin Tarina, and it was where Santa Claus spent his childhood in the movie. Whether it's summer or winter, this cottage looks like it's from a fairytale, and in a way, it is ❤

@omena pomena I want to leave the concrete jungle here in Holland. Practical questions: how expensive is a house there? How are supplies?Tbf it's either leave or suicide. Maybe it''s the booze but I cannot live in concrete anymore.

You did well with the translation. There's one thing you misunderstood though: "Ikijärveltä turvatulta" means "from the secured ever-lake".
Turvattu = secure(d).
However you're right that 'turva' means safe, but remember that 'tulta' (tuli = fire) and 'tuulta' (tuuli = wind) are two different things.
I remember trying to explain the difference in sound with - to, too and two, it took a few beers

As strange as it sounds, I can phrase the song according to the melody without problems, because in Spanish we use the same (or very, very similar) pronunciation in consonants and vowels as in Finnish.
Yep, true. I'm a native Finnish speaker, and to me languages with easiest and most familiar sounding words are Japanese, Spanish and Italian. Strange that Latin languages have so much sound similarities...
Like the s that sounds more like sh in Spanish than in English, German or French
My father grew up in Butte, Montana USA. His first language was Finnish. His friend's Italian grandmother was going blind and could no longer read her Italian newspaper. He would read it out loud to her. He had no idea what it said, but the similarities in pronunciation made it possible for her to keep up with the news from her home country.
I love the songs they do in fnnish.
My god it might be in a language I don't understand and I'm listening to this for the 1st time butI think it's amazing..! Because of the music, her voice and the language as well, it's quite foreign to me and I haven't heard it before and it kind of reminds me of mythical places, maybe only seen in movies or games with beautiful scenery.. And of course with the translation the set is complete - the lyrics are beautiful! Amazing song and good work with the lyrics Annika J!!

Reofive Perhaps it should have been translated as "crying due to their freedom" or "crying because of their freedom" to make the idea clearer. The song does not reveal, however, whether those are tears of joy or whether they are just very overwhelmed because they are free :D We'd better ask Tuomas, haha!
