One of my favorite songs by Nightwish. So lucky that I got to see them live in Worcester, MA for the Once tour. I was mezmerized and in love when Tarja walked on stage. Noone else like her in the world.
Nightiwsh doesn’t seem to have this magic anymore , and when I say magic I don’t mean that their new albums aren’t good , but they haven’t made a magical nightwish album since imagenarium in my idea . This old style from the lyrics and heart of tuomas was what made nightwish what they were and so special . All the science and space stuff is cool on their new albums but it is not the real nightwish . I hope someday tuomas will get melancholy again and write about the night , owls, and his heart again
@MekaShadowlight yea I love the tarja albums and they will always be classic nightiwsh, but I did love Annette with the band also, her voice brought with her that innocence that fit so well with nightiwsh, as amazing as floor is I just don’t think she captures the feeling of nightiwsh as well, she would be suited better for a more technical metal band of that makes sense
I really love when Nightwish make songs about love and Fairytales, they make you journey into the song .. miss Tarja era for this type of compositions!
@05smaugthegolden those songs are OK, but nothing like their old ballads. Theve gone in a more humanitarian direction with their lyrics but I miss the old romantic sad songs they used to make

I can't believe I have been listening to Nightwish for so long and I still can't stop listening to it. My teenage being woukd be so haopy to know that I sing these songs for my daughter to sleep. ❤
This melody of this song is a little melancholy so magical, mystical and soothing. This songs sounds like something supernatural like a story taking place in higher dimensions and otherworldly like relating to mystical things and world and spiritual with the "crestfallen soul" being an adventurer to those supernatural dimensions. It's like a journey.
Yep old Nightwish will never be duplicated. I actually think I liked Annette's era more than Floors, at least Annette was different and they had some good songs. Nightwish today is still cool, I just feel like Floor is somewhere between the 2 singers though, Tarja and Annette are worlds apart, Floor is alright but it just doesn't excite me very much. I wish they would just sing new songs too really, Floor singing old Nightwish songs just doesn't do anything for me

Edit: I forgot to mention the word _once_ engraved on the tombstone. It reinforces the juxtaposition of _eternity_ (the undying angel) and _ephemerality_ (the human life).
Once... By no doubt... Is the greatest music album of all time. Every time a Nightwish video makes my top 5 list of songs, I assume it's from Once... And I'm usually right! :D

2 of my favorite bands are Nightwish and Rammstein they both have a brilliant way to write songs, they may sound so different being nightwish bout Fantasy and Rammstein bout Reality. but both got a songwriter who loves to show what they see in life through poetry. u may like to try Rammstein´s -Haifisch, Stirb Nicht Vor Mir, Amour, Rosenrot and Gib Mir Deine Augen- to see what i mean
Nightwish is also one of my favourite bands , I already knew Rammstein and I just had listened a few of their songs, but the ones you have recommended are really amazing !So I´ll try more of them, thank you ! :D
If Tuomas was referring to White Night Fantasy I think it is because Tarja has said White Night Fantasy was one of her favorite Nightwish songs. Just my opinion.

Me too , they still retained a lot of that with Annette but now with floor they don’t write this magical stuff anymore
