Night of the Living Dead was my first, came out when I was a child. The exorcist is the worst, it just gets me, the book too. Scared the crap out of me when I was a teen, no internet then, I just picked it up in the library.
I don't have a single movie tbh... Alien, The Thing and The Conjuring series are definately my top 3. However... whilst Alien and The Thing are amazing, after a couple of watches they arnt scary... The Conjuring series however... freak me out no matter how many times I watch them. I think they are well done and in my lifetime have experienced some questionable and relatable things. It gets worst for me, as The Conjuring 2 is based on a true story... it happend only a few miles from me and is well known here.

Personally I'm very desensitized to horror movies. I generally have them playing in the background now while I read or I'm going to sleep. Like I have gone to sleep to the conjuring movies lol but I love them. Some that struck a cord with me though are barbarian, malignant, and the Annabelle movies. Annabelle, because I don't like dolls. Had an old babysitter when I was a kid who had dolls in one room. They lined the walls, recliner, bed and the back of the door. We the kids had to sleep on the floor after watching a chuck movie lol. Never liked them darlin dolls since lol.

I spent 5 days in Dallas GA, which is a suburb of Atlanta if I remember, going through old cemeteries in the woods around the area. Saw a lot of neat shit on those nights. I'd like to go back but I can't anymore. As terrible as these movies are I really enjoy them.

For me, it was the American version of The Grudge I saw as a pre-teen/teen. I always thought she'd (Kayako) would show up in a dark corner of the ceiling while I tried to get to sleep or sometimes I had a nightmare about it. 😅

The second one is even better ... James Wan is a great film maker. My favourite film that genuinely scares me ? It has to be RINGU the original Korean film from 1998. I was sat on my own watching it and the scene when Sadako came out of the tv genuinely made me fill my pants the US version called THE RING didn't have the same impact in any way shape or form and did not have the sense of dread the original had. But one film when I was 8 years old terrified me to a point where I couldn't sleep for days or with the bedroom door open and that was THE HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL from 1959 there was two initial scenes regarding an old woman spectre that probably is responsible for my night terrors ... The old beeyatch.

Time for me to Conjure up some facts! • As you probably heard many times by now, Ed and Lorraine Warren were paranormal investigators who've investigated numerous instances of hauntings, including taking a stab at trying to figure out what happened with the Amityville house. Their exploits have usually been with some level of skepticism and criticism but the museum with relics is real and features the real Annabelle doll. In the opening dissertation when they were showcasing footage of an exorcism, you can see the real Lorraine Warren as part of the audience. • So one of the big questions from this film is why didn't the Perron family get notified of the house's colorful past and the answer is that while some states have a disclosure law on real estate sales, Rhode Island is not one of them. • Speaking of the Perron family. My favorite horror movie experience was seeing The Ring in the theater. The crowd was really into it and people screamed so loud during several scenes that when it was over everyone started laughing. I thought I was fine when I left the theater, but unfortunately, I couldn’t sleep for 2 days because I kept seeing the girl from the well coming through my bedroom door. First and only time that ever happened to me, and I’ve seen a lot of horror movies.

Haunting of Hill house has nothing to do with this it was based on a book with the same name. I love this movie so much and even now when I see it the movie scares me plus to me it's the best one in the fanchise. The Warrens were real people who helped others without pay and made money off Ed's pictures that he painted. They both passed sadly but they were said to have delt with many cases. The real story of this movie is way worse than the movie shows and no it has nothing to do with Beth-shiva either. Actually the Warrens had little to do with this case apparently because they accidently made things worse and the wife almost died so they were kicked out. No exorcisum and no possesed mother in the real story and in fact James Wan refused to use the real matirial given to him because it would be too scary and he wanted a pg 13 rating even though this movie ended up being R rated any way but still. If you want to know the real story you should get the books House of darkness,house of light which was written by the eldest daughter Andrea and has all the family's expiriences there as well. There was no demon just spirits and dark spirits as well in the house and also the family stayed in the house for 10 years unlike what they show here.

I used to listen to Ed and Lorraine on the radio on The Alan Handelman Show. I'm not a believer in demons but the stories they told sent shivers up my spine. I loved it every time they were on.

The Descent was the first movie I can remember that had me constantly looking over my shoulder. Very claustrophobic movie set in a cave. :D
I turned that movie off at the closeup of the cave dweller. I was done.
