I just love the look of this knife. It’s just bad ass. Really want them upgrade this one. Acid wash blade finish with green micarta scales in a tops kydex sheath. Just seem like a no brainer to me lol.
@@peterbiltknifeguy nice I just ordered my first winkler. The Huntsman model lol. Also have you checked out my knife showdown series? The survival knife and now the camp knife. I think you’ll like the big knife series when I do it
I’ve carried the PWB as my edc for about ten years now. It’s a great knife. Just as much at home in the campsite and in the kitchen as it is on the battlefield.
@@thelasthuntsmanoutdoors Living in Texas has its perks. The best part of this knife is the amount of knife-envy it creates in those who see you using it. 😉
I have carried the PWB as my edc for almost ten years. It works very well for almost anything. I carry it inside the waistband in the back at a 30 degree angle. Almost don’t even know it’s there most of the time. We took the Bowie Seminar at Jeff Prather’s Warrior School in Tucson about six years ago. Worth the trip to Arizona imho. Best part, I had to buy a second PWB for her. So now I have two War Bowies! Mumma Bear has the Longhorn Bowie and loves it more.
Nice review. Couple of points.. The war bowie is supposed to be held closer to the pommel for its intended combat purpose. For bushcraft/ camping, it serves the purpose of a large knife very well. But it won't be my only knife. I'd carry a Victorinox Huntsman or something similar with it for finer tasks You can also get really good kydex sheaths from red hill custom kydex as well as Armor sheaths for this knife. I agree. This needs a good kydex sheath.
When did they make this sheath for the PWB?? I wonder if the US Combat Knife got the same treatment from TOPS? I'm on my 2nd canvas sheath and it's been about 12 years, but I'd love a updated kydex one.... of course I only have to continue watching and all is answered...
Moe Moe the battle poodle is awesome. Standard poodles are great field dogs. I would have acquired this Bowie had it not been for the negligent sheath construction and the Rocky Mountain Tread handle. Tops can fix it or keep it. The blade design is great for camp knife/fighter. Less expensive better option IMO Bear and Son Freedom Fighting Bowie.
I’ll have to check out the Bear And Son FFB for sure. The sheath is the biggest letdown for me, the Rocky Mountain Tread doesn’t bother me on the Tops knives, regardless thank you for watching
I just ordered one this morning! I was waiting it for months to be available again. If I had to design a blade it would look exactly like this. The only downside is the sheath and there are few available custom-makers where I live. Nice review by the way! Greetings from Belgium
Apparently, the guy who designed this knife runs some kind of ninjutsu/bujinkan McDojo and allegedly has done some incredibly shady things with his students.
I knew he ran a class, I haven’t heard of or substantiated any wrong doing. That said I’m just testing and using the knife, I can care less about the designer unless if something heinous was proven
@@thelasthuntsmanoutdoors None of what I say takes away from the quality of the knife. At the end of the day, if it's a good knife, then it's a good knife. Yea tops really needs to revamp a lot of their knives
I just picked one up
Awesome! It’s a cool knife. The sheath sucks out of the box like many Tops but AZwelke makes a good sheath for it
@@thelasthuntsmanoutdoors oh I already ordered a new sheath lol.

I love the PWB. But imo theres better knives from tops for Bushcraft. but that wasnt the idea behind the knife.
I agree, it’s a combat knife for sure and that’s the appeal. Thanks for watching
I have the Prather bowie and the wild pig hunter. Bought kydex for both. I'm a fan of both😊
Both are cool

Keep learning those skills mate.
Plan on it
I collect quite a few Tops knives, including the PWB. IMO, The best Jack of all trades knife they make is the Longhorn Bowie.
I might have to look into that one sometime

Yes, I forgot to mention that this knife was designed to be held close to the pommel for combat use. It’s designed almost like an 1800s era Bowie.
I'd say this knife was designed more with a martial case use in mind as opposed to a bushcrafting role, yet it did well, I must say.
It did for sure, thanks for watching

Hey thanks buddy. You too. Awesome stuff
In my opinion that knife was designed more for fighting than as a survival knife
Agreed it is. Still works
