My fj cruiser has the same problem same tire, I need to replace the seal.

Corrosion from winter road salts is what happened with mine, and plugged the axle vent. Thanks for commenting!

Yea same thing here .replaced my bearing and seal the first time 150000 later doing both seals today . That emergency brake isn't fun at all!

I did not realize that seal replacement was this simple. Rear bearing (or I should say E-Brake) was a pain. I wonder Toyota assembled E-Brake before inserting the shaft??

Fj is destroyed from rust! I would get rid of it asap….
