Best review I've seen and I'll be following from today on. I really enjoyed how you broke down the Technical aspects of the drivetrain. Most RUclips reviews just explain the visually obvious controls.
@@WTFCRLT1 , I also appreciate when reviewers qualify their response. It bothers me when I hear "Great transmission!"....and why? I think to myself. Anyway, keep up the good work.
Got mine reserved. Looks just like this one. Glacier white with premium, convenience, and tech package. Going to add the hood graphic and the black insert inlays in the “frontier” logo on the back. Should be in next week for me to go buy it. Can’t wait!
Each dealer is taking reservation for them cause they are going quick. Reservation are 500 bucks. They can’t sell it until you look at it since you reserved it.
51,565?? Where did that come from if you don't mind me asking? Every option available? Taxes? I live in California, so I could only imagine what the final price will be. 😬
Enjoyed very much your review! Thinking of getting one myself very soon. Just ONE thing you missed. There IS lumbar support. It's on the right side of the driver seat. You could see it when your driving it. 😉
Everybody’s complaining about the price tag but if you don’t need the bells and whistles you can get one of these for 31k. Shop around most midsize trucks with any amount of features on them are going to set you back close to 40k(ttl/destination etc). Full size trucks are now pushing over well 50-60k. Go for the lowest model if you don’t need anything but a work truck. This truck is built way better than a Colorado or Ranger it’s only competition would be a Tacoma but thats going to set ya back even more 💵. Owned a 2021 ranger XLT sport no comparison on build and drive quality between the two and this is built to last.
Great video dude! I am getting my Pro4X in Boulder Grey crew cab today (yay!). Can you put in a couple of links here for the all weather floor mats I can buy aftermarket that will fit this truck perfectly (without scissor work)? The dealership won't throw those in as part of the deal (sucks!)
Great review! I've been waiting for this truck to hit the lots. I think the only way to get the premium stereo is with the roof window, however. I'm 6'3" and I tend to not like roof windows due to feeling like my head is too close to the ceiling because they typically take away an inch or so of headroom. But you said you are 6,' and it looks like you have quite a bit of room above your head so I'll give it a chance - would really like the better sound system. BTW - they do offer a minor option to blacken the rear indented FRONTIER logo letters on the tailgate if you prefer that look.
Yes I had more than enough headroom and I’m pretty sure the seat went down even lower than I had it set. I’d definitely option those inlays especially with that white paint haha thanks for the comment!
@21 Yes, the steering system in the 2022 Nissan Frontier is different from the 2023 model. According to The Drive, the 2022 Nissan Frontier has a steering setup that consists of a belt-driven hydraulic pump backing up a rack and pinion. The rack is 16% quicker than the updated 2020 model’s, with 17.3:1 gearing reducing turns between locks to a flat three. The steering in this truck is heavily boosted so as to make it easier to drive, and in off-road situations, reduces the risk of the steering wheel jerking around. Nissan handles that with an extra steering damper, allowing power assist to remain modest, and thus the connection between the driver’s hands and the front wheels feels fully mechanical Ad1. On the other hand, the 2023 Nissan Frontier has engine speed sensitive power steering 2. This system provides a more stiff feeling when driving at highway speeds, allowing drivers to feel more connected to the road. At low speeds, the system provides full assistance like power steering for easy maneuvering Ad1.
@@catchcountcostas yes but i paid 44,000 cash and didn’t get a bed liner, fog lights, and no hitch either. Blame it on the shortage? For $44000 you’d think that’s be included besides that no complaints.

Great detailed review. I'm on my third 2nd gen Frontier, all King Cab 4x4. I'm disappointed there is no King Cab Pro4x for 2022. Maybe next year? As to the heavier steering it's hydraulic assisted rack and pinion. I like it much better than light electric steering. I'm most interested in the low end torque and throttle response on the new 3.8. The 2nd gen 4L is fantastic from a dead stop but gets a bit harsh at higher RPM. It's great for a truck though; I've never lacked for power. Also I'm extremely glad Nissan didn't mount the driver's seat low to the floor like a Tacoma. Can't wait to test drive the 2022.
Thank you! The hydraulic rack explains everything lol but Not sure about their plans with a king cab for the pro 4X but I don’t see why they wouldn’t. Low end torque and power delivery in general is very solid. Definitely better throttle response and low end compared to the 3.5 in the pathfinder, especially in sport mode. I noticed a tiny bit of that harshness you described up top as well. More noticeable than the pathfinder but probably less than what you’re describing with your truck. This truck isn’t slow an mk5 gti was racing me at that light and the pro 4X won by almost the whole truck length😂
@@WTFCRLT1 Awesome thanks. The test 3.8 didn’t sound as harsh as the 4.0. Just to be clear from a dead stop all of my Frontiers had/have a strong pull with a partial throttle. Maybe it’s part tuning, part throttle body injection and the lower peak torque curve or some combination of the three? The new truck is also a bit heavier too. All in all I like it. Nothing is perfect! Thanks for being critical in your reviews.
I drove a PRO-X today. Was trying to compare an SV to the PRO-X. Was wondering if the bilstein shocks and the different tires made any difference. I honestly could not tell the difference.. I owned a 2021 Ranger before purchasing one of these now that was a choppy ride. This is smooth especially if you get it in the pro models the suspension is fantastic.
I really like it I'm just disappointed on how my local dealers have put a mark up on it. Also I used to own a Nissan and I have to replace the transmission 4 times before 100k and that kinda turn me off from Nissan.
No midsized truck.is worth more then 40 grand. 46 grand is way too much to play for that frontier. You younger generation folks are crazy wanting all that high technology components in your new vehicles. Just more expensive repair cost when them computer component parts start going bad.
I'm not going to lie that frontier has one badass looking truck. But they say it competes with the Tacoma TRD Pro... The only problem is the TRD Pro smokes the frontier but the TRD 4x4 off-road is actually cheaper or about the same price. Don't get it wrong I love the frontier also but I think I'd have to go Toyota it's so much more of a proven platform imo 225,000+ sold each year, that many ppl can't b wrong🤷

Why would I pay 45 grand for a vehicle when I haven't even driven it around the block? Ford, Chev, and Toyota dealers had no trouble with letting me drive their offerings... The Chevy dealer even let me drive their ZR2 over the weekend!
@@stevornrichards1380 Because I don't want a cheaper model.
@@stevornrichards1380 Honestly... Would you pay $45,000 for a vehicle without ever even starting the engine?
That 'brand new' interior is hideous. To me. Sorry
I’m sure whatever jalopy you drive is better! Feel good now?
I can almost bend the cheap sheet metal on the truck bed with my hand. Cheap plastic everywhere bug juice acid will eat through the paint in maybe a week or less. Total garbage with no options from a bankrupt company with a chief that was a crook. For 40 k go buy a real truck not this plastic junk overpriced up to 15k over MSRP are you kidding???? No headroom so you may break your neck on bumps what a joke and fake rims? Total scam job here...
Def not lightweight. It’s the heaviest midsize truck in the Pro 4x trim.
