When he joined LeBron and couldn’t play his game, everyone clowned him (even more so, because he was seen more, being with LeBron). Thought he was going to be a good player when the Knicks drafted him. He came in as a defensive player, didn’t even recognize his offensive game (sort of like Jimmy Butler, who I knew since he was a Bull was a star and complete player).

Shumpert Rookie season He started.... He was given free reign... if anything it was Walt Frazier who spoke out on him talking 20 shots vs Memphis one game as a rookie and didn’t like it on air before Baron came back and Linsanity took over. That lockout shorten season he was playing 28mpg his highest. He started 35 games. Had he not tore his ACL he would held on to that 2 guard spot. He recovered from that injury cause he was getting up higher in 2012-2013. That alley off the backboard be the Nets he damn near head butted the rim. Problem was he couldn’t shoot. League was changing and that Knicks team was the prototype to the GS teams primary 3pt attack offense. That game Shumpert had against the Spurs with the game winning tip (27pts).. people thought he was on to something... Inconsistencies killed him. Not the Knicks on this one time

I’d say his first injury was a curse and a blessing considering it gave him space to be with his now wife and mother towards his child. In the end though I do agree if put in a better situation from the start we’d see a different version of shumpert.

You have to do his brother, Preston Shumpert. I don't think anybody heard of his game, or the once kids from the documentary Preps: Chicago Hoops that followed Will Bynum, Sean Dockery, Luther Head, Eddy Curry, Kyle Kleckner, and Jason Straight.

I never saw him as a PG. I think he is a solid. Fringe starter, 6th man. Offensively, maybe because the offense sets never really developed. Injury really hindered him as well. Defensively he was very good..should still be in the L
