    What frustrated me about him especially when he got to my Pistons was he took way too many jump shots especially when he still had the athleticism to blow by his opponents and get buckets. He was still one of my favorite players during his prime even had his Atlanta Jersey good times.

      As a Hawks fan, believe you me, that's the exact thing that caused us to "turn" on him. No one was sad to see him gone in the end. Overall he was still a great player for the team, and he had some All Star (snubbed) seasons for some exciting Hawks teams and will always be overall beloved... but by the end everyone was very ready to move on.

  • @bofuthereturn
    @bofuthereturn 3 года назад +24

    he was kinda like antoine walker in that he fell in love with the 3 instead of sticking to what made him great. antoine walker was a great all around player who could score pass and rebound during his first 3-4 years in the league. alot of people including myself thought he could be like kevin garnett but his game changed after he signed his first big contract. he basically became a stretch four even though he shot the 3 at a horrible percentage. the same thing happened to josh smith. he was great at playing defense and shot blocking and that is what he should have stuck to. if he had done that instead of falling in love with the 3 he would still be in the league.

    • @smoothjulio

    Imagine if his coaches used him or if he played like Draymond Green. J Smooth had all the tools to be a DPOY and a point forward like Dray, but was so much more athletic than Draymond. If Josh was in a system like the Warriors, surrounded by shooters he could have been a HOFer easily. He was a better finisher than Dray ever was, so a pick and roll with Josh and a Steph type with Klay on them floor would be crazy!!! The lobs and open drives Josh would have got and being that he finished at the rim like few others...a Josh/Steph pick and roll would have been unstoppable. If only Smooth had Dray's IQ and coaching situation.

      @@ruxcooking defense yes. Offensively he is pop. Very mechanical. He is fortunate the era he played in being really the only center. With that being said his lack of an Offensive game limited his ability to be the best player on a championship team..

      He was in the perfect situation in Orlando. Should've stayed. Might've done just as well when he planned to team with CP3 on the Nets but he handled that situation wrong. Like a lot of things in his career.

    If he had been most of his career with a great passer like CP3 or J Kidd or someone like that his scoring numbers wouldve been amazing. He couldve been a lethal pnr scorer as the screener but he ended up thinking ge was like an isolated scorer like Melo or his teammate Joe Johnson instead. Coaching definitely stunted his growth too. He had the tools to easily become a hall of famer.

    Could you do Harrison Barnes? He was heralded as a franchise player, but it wasn't to be. He still has a solid career as a key contributor, but I felt he had the potential to be a star in the league. He just was never able to activate all of his talent with confidence and consistency.

    J Smoove the Lefty ✌🏿... He had a very solid career I think his stunt was settling for that 3 after he made 1. If he worked on his midrange more he’d still be in the league. He’s a 14 & 8 career over 12 years. Not a lot of players close to that. He was Kenyon Martin like but Kmart had that mid range on smash. Josh career average was better than Kenyons 12 ppg & 7 reb. That hawks run was special he fit perfect
