I spent some time with Brian in NYC and London. Sooo many years ago. This has affected me so much it has brought the tears to my eyes. Still love you, Brian. And yes, NO JONES NO STONES! 🎶🎸
I knew him, too, Cissy. I was 14 when I last saw him. He lived around the corner from me with a local girl, in Windsor, called Linda Lawrence. She ended up raising one of Brian’s children with Donovan, in Eire. Linda’s younger brother was a pal of mine called Stuart. Of course, I did not know him well but I did meet him on one or two occasions. I last saw him waving at me in a phone box on St Leonard’s Road in Windsor. He was living at 98 St Leonard’s Road, Windsor, Berkshire, which was almost directly opposite where he was using the telephone box. I looked at him and he just waved back asi turned into Queen’s Road as I lived at no 53 back then and was walking home. I never saw him again but on the very few occasions when I was fortunate enough to meet him, he was very warm and cordial. He seemed like a very genuine young man, to me and I will always remember him as that. I certainly see him as nothing less that one of the most important contributors to the 1960s cultural revolution in Britain, which was to lead the world. He was a magnificent talent that is still underestimated but even The Beatles held him in the very highest esteem, as did Hendrix, Morrison and Dylan amongst others, and rightly so. Brian Jones is the skeleton in The Rolling Stones cupboard and he always will be. I still maintain that their treatment of him was absolutely appalling and still is. Not one of his children ever received a dime from The Stones to this very day, a fact which turns my stomach. One of them had to purchase a ticket to go and see the band his father created as they wouldn’t even let him into their stadium gig without paying for it. Sure, Brian was dealing with a few issues when he was almost certainly either murdered, which is the most likely scenario, of killed by accident. Tom Keylock, a bodyguard and chauffeur working for Alan Klein, claimed he witnessed Frank Thorogood directly confess having killed Brian on his deathbed but as the police have stated, that, “Evidence,” if you can call it that, benefits one man only, by getting him off the hook from further speculation and that man was Tom Keylock who may very well have been ver much implicated in Brian being actually murdered. We will never know now but there is a mountain of evidence that does indeed point to the likelihood of foul play.
@@michaelwakeford2336Very good comments . You were lucky to have met someone, who, as you describe it, was part of the CULTURAL REVOLUTION. That's what it was, nothing more, like people expected, but nothing less, certainly!

I was 20 in 1969 and going out with my future hubby, this was and always has been my band, I remember this news so well, as he was only 27 when he died, nothing comes close to the sixties in my opinion, but I so love the Stones from the first time I saw and heard them right up to this day.

Nice video thank you. I was actually born the day Brian Jones died and have always felt a great affinity with him. Also, I've been a massive Rolling Stones fan since I was a teenager and am a songwriter who plays guitar. A few wks ago, I finally made the pilgrimage to Cheltenham to visit Brian's childhood home in Eldorado Rd. It's fascinating to see and very easily accessible from the train station (a 5 min walk). Afterwards, I tried to visit his memorial statue in the Beechwood Shopping Arcade but was unable to locate it due to the building being completely re-designed/renovated. If anyone knows where the statue is currently located, I'd be most grateful if you could let me know. Also, I think it's important to underline the fact that we are all human beings, with flaws, frailities and imperfections and should be judged in that light. Although Brian was no angel, I have great empathy for his plight and for the torment and pain he endured, particularly during the last few yrs of his short life ❤
Brian Jones what a telented man he was he could play lots of different instruments and the Stones was his band he got them together died way to young looking forward to this one thanks Paul
Thanks for helping us remember Brian, what a legacy he has left. The Stones have alway's been my favourite group it's wonderful they are still going strong, but sad Brian could not be with them. I met him with the other's in 1965, a star struck teenager working for the American Teenage Magazine "Date Book" and interviewed them in the ABC Regal in Edinburgh. Still and alway's will be a massive fan. Keep going strong boys.
that was so nice ,albeit emotional, I am Brian Jones fan always have been always will be. I listen regularly to the rolling stones records ,and pick out Brian on sitar or slide etc ..What a great loss this talented musician was ,and taken so young ❤❤
Brilliant video, lots of my husbands family are laid to rest there, you also walked past the resting place of my Father in Law who passed away in 1960 in a motorcycle accident, so I never knew him. I also worked in the cemetery office there for a while and loved it. Each time we go there we drive past Brian Jones grave.
Exceptional job Paul! I began playing guitar because of Brian making it look so cool & fun! Saw the Rolling Stones on the Ed Sullivan show, I'm so glad as the guitar has helped me through life's ups and downs...thank you Brian, RIP...
Brian Jones was the real genius in the group.. Everything that sounds modern and "avant-garde" in the Rolling Stones records, was Brian Jones touch. Simple as that. After Brian Jones left... The Stones made Great Rock Music but not awe any more 🌟🌟🌟
Nice one.I've been there several times,in fact,i bought the plastic box you can see,the other one fell apart.I nipped down the road to Sainsbury's to buy it.Stones forever👍🎸
One could argue that the Stones were equally influencial as the Beatles. I love the Rolling Stones. Very simplistic lead/bass riffs with Mick Jagger's vocals made them extremely rememberable with its hooks. I can't see The Rolling Stones continue forever with Charlie Watts passing away not so long ago. Who would of thought Charlie would die before Richards and Woods? RIP Brian, your music continues in my music collection.
I discovered Brian Jones after reading an excerpt from Up and Down With The Rolling Stones by Tony Sanchez. Been a fan ever since. I was totally a Beatles fan at the time. Became a Stones fan because of Brian.
@@grimmertwin2148 Not all of it but it was a fun read. A lot of what Sanchez wrote was true. I know he was noting more than Brian and Keith’s drug dealer and made himself out to be more.
I’m reading his bio (Paul Trynka's) for the 2nd time! An AMAZING read about a truly great artist who’s contributions have often been erased from history (by you know who). I have often thought about visiting his grave but it feels like it would be a very heavy experience. It’s one thing to listen to the records but actually standing in front of his grave would make it so much more real, not sure I could handle that. Regardless, may this great visionary Rest In Peace for all eternity.
Thanks paul how sad he left us so young he was a very talented intelligent musician if not for him there wud have not been the stones brian was the stones bless him rip brian fly high another great vedio 👍🙌👍👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👌👌👌
Tragically taken so young. A multi talented musician who actually played saxaphone on a Beatles track. Everyone seems to remember the names of the famous Stones, but not many remember the co-founder Ian Stewart who sadly passed away in 1986.
@Geoff Poole Ian was a member before Jagger, Richards etc. have a look their history. Loog Oldham got rid of him as he didn't fit in having a square chin.
Great band with a fantastic history . I remember when they started in 1962 i thought what a strange name for a rock band ! I bought all their singles as they were issued in the 60's . Sad Brian died young , life can be short and life-style can be a deciding factor on mortality , thanks again Paul for a great presentation .
Hard to believe he left us over 50 years ago and sadly part of the ill fated 27 club. Great music and thanks for founding one of the best bands in the world. Great video Paul.
It’s sad Brian being kicked out of the stones and dying young what a great privileged life he lost out on I often think about him while the rest of the band flying round the world such a sad story died to young 😢
About 3 decades ago, I was reading a couple of books about Brain and the group and when lying down for a brief nap, Brian paid me a short visit and told me that he had been murdered. Of course, mental experiences like that are often not based in anything real, but it did make me wonder just because it was so very clear and so seemingly real. The books in question were, "Up and Down with the Rolling Stones" and "Golden Stone: the untold life and tragic death of Brian Jones." Up and Down was written by Tony Sanchez and I found it to be very well written and informative. March 20, 2023 [The first day of SPRING has arrived!!!🌤🌈🎊💦💫💥💟💖💝‼🙂👍🐦☘]
A multi-talented instrumentalist who founded the legendary band rolling Stones who introduced Jimi Hendrix to the world at Monterey and played percussion on All along the watchtower with him who played with the Beatles his only drawback was drugs that made him unreliable great video .
He was the equivalent of George in another massive band!! Massive Beatles fan here, but nothing but respect for Brian Jones. I will pay my respects in person one day
Such a simple headstone for someone so talented & influential Lovely to see his memory is being kept alive by loyal fans Thanks Paul for another fantastic video I’m still amazed how you carry on with the commentary whilst filming “A Rolling Stone gathers no Moss” RIP Brian Jones 🙏🏻
Live love and leave a legacy Brian Jones 💯 percent definitely done that his contribution to the Rolling Stones is priceless thank god almighty you can’t kill spirit that lives on forever thank you Brian Jones ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Brian Jones was a class act who left far too early. It has been forgotten that he was a very early admirer of Jimi Hendrix, and it was through his contacts that Jimi was able to secure a record deal. When he fell on hard times, Jimi never forgot his kindness and put him in various places when he was subjected to corrupt drug busts by DS Norman Pilcher of the Flying Squad. His possible murder by rogue builders is too horribly plausible. His grave has been lovingly maintained for over five decades now. I hope he is smiling that Cheshire Cat grin, wherever he is now.
Hi Paul - I was brought up in the 60s unusually in Singapore where dad was based in Changi RAF base and I was at the RAF school provided. My school mates and me were crazy Beatles and Stones fans but starved of the music which were exported in those days by ship hence 6 weeks delay from radio. We were incredibly excited when Stones arranged a far eastern tour which a one night concert in Singapore. Unfortunately all sold out - School mates and I decided spur of moment to visit their hotel to see if we could get a glimpse. Eventually we were able to jump the rear wall of the Hilton in Orchard Road and ended up in the swimming pool area. We blended in due to the huge press throng that had erupted. We manage to get in close proximity to some of the Stones members including Brian who was complete with swimming costume. We managed to say a few words but it was interrupted by a lady press reporter who was smoking and ended up accidently burning him on hi shoulder, At this point due to his remonstrations we were all kicked out together with press. However years later on hearing of Brian's demise I always remembered our brief meeting in Singapore.
Brilliant! Grew up with the rolling stones, although I was a bit more a beatles fan, the stones and especially brian, we're to me completely different, but they really did grow on me. Rip Brian, and thanks for opening my mine to more music.
I loved Brian. My favourite Stone.I loved the Beatles but I also loved the Stones. The best Music in my opinion was in the 60s and the 70s.Thank you for another great Video.
Hi Paul, Thank you. My memories of the Stones music in late 60's as appealing to the more rebellious youth of the time. At 71 yrs there's still that rebelliousness when you hear Brian playing in the early recordings with the stone's. We can only imagine how much more great music we could have enjoyed, R.I.P Great posts
Love the protracted walk through the grave yard .Really creates an atmosphere. On a side note poor Brian is the only 23 year old I ever saw with bags under his eyes.Who knows what goes on inside
Another great video Paul... I've lived here in Cheltenham all my life and known of his grave here for many years, as my uncle is a big fan of The Rolling Stones and I've visited family members who have sadly passed away many times over the years and also visited Brians grave a few times over the years to pay my respects with my children..... If you're thinking of coming this week I'd avoid it this week as Cheltenham races is on all this week 14th/17th March and it brings the town to a standstill, otherwise Cheltenham is a great place to visit and you're right the cementary is huge but very well kept. All the best Paul. 👍
My friend Bruce Becker of Fondulac, WI, whose house is a shrine to the Stones pilgrimaged to this cemetery years ago to pay homage to Brian. Bruce has been to over 50 concerts. I have been to four concerts with Bruce. Bruce's dwelling is covered with big promotional wall posters with other types of memorabilia all over the place. We love watching concerts with Bruce at his dwelling. You have the Stones watching you in the bathroom. Bruce shook hands with Mick and Bill.

The Stones have alway's been my
favourite group it's wonderful they
are still going strong, but sad Brian
could not be with them. I met him
with the other's in 1965, a star struck
teenager working for the American
Teenage Magazine "Date Book" and
interviewed them in the ABC Regal
in Edinburgh.
R. I. P brian Jones may you rest in peace and thank you for your music and thank you Paul for sharing your video with us much appreciated
Ahh thanks for your message Janet
My Dad, was a Vicar, the thing with leaving Churches open is things unfortunately go missing. Thanks for the great videos I love grave yards.
Você é de Cheltheham cidade rica em flores, aliás,uma cidade recheada de florestas
The Stones made Great Rock Music but not awe any more 🌟🌟🌟
He has several facebook fan groups , and im lucky to be friends with ppl who grew up with him and knew him personally ,
Nice one.I've been there several times,in fact,i bought the plastic box you can see,the other one fell apart.I nipped down the road to Sainsbury's to buy it.Stones forever👍🎸
Nice one 🙏
👍
Brilliant viewing for a Sunday night. Love Brian and the music of The Stones...looking forward to this Paul 👍👍
Beatles 🤣 give me a break, lol.
I discovered Brian Jones after reading an excerpt from Up and Down With The Rolling Stones by Tony Sanchez. Been a fan ever since. I was totally a Beatles fan at the time. Became a Stones fan because of Brian.
George Harrison and Brian Jones were good friends. :)
You know that book is totally discredited 😮
@@grimmertwin2148 Not all of it but it was a fun read. A lot of what Sanchez wrote was true. I know he was noting more than Brian and Keith’s drug dealer and made himself out to be more.
Brian was a musical genius, it is too bad he passed away so young!
Thank you for showing Brian's grave
Well done. Thanks so much. RIP Brian Jones.
Thankyou Paul for making us all realise that we’re only here for a short time.
He was so talented I was so sad when he died R.I.P Brian
Currently reading ‘Stone Alone’
Bill Wyman’s autobiography.
Bill’s recollections of Brian reveals how integral he was to the band’s foundations.
Thanks paul how sad he left us so young he was a very talented intelligent musician if not for him there wud have not been the stones brian was the stones bless him rip brian fly high another great vedio 👍🙌👍👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👌👌👌
I look forward to seeing your informative and very professional contents.👍
Tragically taken so young. A multi talented musician who actually played saxaphone on a Beatles track. Everyone seems to remember the names of the famous Stones, but not many remember the co-founder Ian Stewart who sadly passed away in 1986.
Was Ian Stewart a full member of the band? He played piano at most of their concerts and on their albums. He played at the s***show that was Altamont.
@Geoff Poole Ian was a member before Jagger, Richards etc. have a look their history. Loog Oldham got rid of him as he didn't fit in having a square chin.
Plenty of people remember Stu. He was an integral part of the band.
@@geoffpoole483 If it wasn't for Ian Stewart from Scotland, there would be no rolling stones, mate. He brought in Charlie Watts.
Very well done Paul. Brilliant as always ..always been a Stone's fan.Thankyou Paul 👍👍
Thanks Paul Lovely tribute to absolute Legend gone way too soon.Always loved the Stones 👍
Gee I'm surprised I would have thought he have a bigger head stone. Being such a star. They should give him a bigger head stone
Yet again a great informative video. You are a fabulous man, Paul. Another member of the “27 Club”. So sad to die so young.
A multi-talented instrumentalist who founded the legendary band rolling Stones who introduced Jimi Hendrix to the world at Monterey and played percussion on All along the watchtower with him who played with the Beatles his only drawback was drugs that made him unreliable great video
.
He was the equivalent of George in another massive band!! Massive Beatles fan here, but nothing but respect for Brian Jones. I will pay my respects in person one day
Such a simple headstone for someone so talented & influential
Lovely to see his memory is being kept alive by loyal fans
Thanks Paul for another fantastic video
I’m still amazed how you carry on with the commentary whilst filming
“A Rolling Stone gathers no Moss”
RIP Brian Jones 🙏🏻
It is simple, but i have never passed it without seeing flowers there, i have passed it at least half a dozen times a year for 54 years.
Another great video! The house that Brian Jones sadly died in was previously owned by A A Milne who wrote Winnie The Pooh
It has been forgotten that he was a very early admirer of Jimi Hendrix, and it was through his contacts that Jimi was able
to secure a record deal. When he fell on hard times, Jimi never forgot his kindness and put him in various places when he was subjected to corrupt drug busts by
DS Norman Pilcher of the Flying Squad.
His possible murder by rogue builders is too horribly plausible. His grave has been lovingly maintained for over five decades now. I hope he is smiling that Cheshire Cat grin,
wherever he is now.
Cheers John, always great to hear stories
Hi Paul,
Thank you.
My memories of the Stones music in late 60's as appealing to the more rebellious youth of the time. At 71 yrs there's still that rebelliousness when you hear Brian playing in the early recordings with the stone's.
We can only imagine how much more great music we could have enjoyed, R.I.P
Great posts
Brian Jones was a genius & def no Jones no Stones. Such a sad loss esp @ 27. Rip Brian Jones. Great vid Paul 👍🏻
lewis brian hopkins jones..... brilian n genius.... bisa memainkan segala jenis alat musik.....
Love the protracted walk through the grave yard .Really creates an atmosphere. On a side note poor Brian is the only 23 year old I ever saw with bags under his eyes.Who knows what goes on inside
He was brilliant Jones no stones gone far to young
Thank for this. Interesting walking tour of the grounds and the details of Brian Jones's life. Canadian fan of the Stones since '66.
Thanks Paul, I remember when it was reported that he died. So sad may he RIP.
Brilliant Paul....always been a big Stones fan. Loved this one ❤👍
Thanks for your brilliant and interesting video about Brian. The influence of the old time blues musicians on R&B was immense. The music of my life.
Cotchford farm was previously owned by AA Milne, it’s 5 mins drive from my house
Yep, most of my family are buried there, a very tranquil place, at 69 i guess i'll be there within a few years or so.
Thanks, RIP Sir
Another great tribute paul, thank you 🙏..
Love your videos Paul ❤
I think you have done a fabulous job with Brian's tribute. I love music so learning about Brian's life has been enjoyable. Thanks again
Thank you Paul for showing us Brian,s grave. Cheers 🍺
The stones still going today sad about Brian Jones so young to die under strange circumstances another great video Paul thank you
Yes strange circumstances should be reinvestigated, and exhumed
VERY VERY STRANGE CIRCUMSTANCES. SAD.
