Michael Angst funnily enough i sort of agree with you. i wouldn't really say this album was a disappointment because in all honesty it had some fucking brilliant tracks like this one for example. but in all honesty i do think the chorus's are too simplistic meaningful as they are for the majority of the songs and a lot of the songs also have long instrumentals at the end of the songs overall this is still a great album though.

Umm, I'm pretty sure all artists would like their music to get to as many listeners as possible. IMHO

I got a tattoo inspired by this song almost 3 years ago, after the most difficult year of my life. I had taken a job doing something I believed I would love and had worked really hard for and it ended up nearly breaking me. Afterwards, I stayed in the same field but moved to a new country and found so much joy doing that same job in a better situation. I had never watched the music video for this song (not really a music video person) but just stumbled upon it. I was shocked when it featured a bunch of middle schoolers on a field trip, considering it is one of the things that helped me continue in my career as a middle school teacher. I couldn't be happier I stuck with it, and I'm so glad I found this all these years later.
This guy has literally changed the course of my life. It's amazing what one person can do.

The reason they use kids for this video is because as children we have such big hopes and dreams and we're so full of imagination and we promise ourselves we'll never let our flame of inspiration and creativity die, and Watsky is saying he never let his die and he's disappointed so many people broke the promises they made as children as they aged... That's just my interpretation of it.

Greenflame OTP Ahem? Those two people you have named aren't even the same genre as Watsky... So it's unfair to compare artists. Every artist has something of value to share. For me, people like Taylor Swift, and Bruno Mars who make silly lighthearted pop songs or love songs are awesome cause damn it feels good to just dance to a catchy beat every once in a while. Also, I agree that Watsky is underrated but, not everyone likes his style of music and that's mostly because he doesn't conform to rap norms. But that is the job of a true artist, to think outside the box and break the rules and I respect Watsky for that. He is definitely too legit to quit. But still like I said every artist has gone through struggle to get where they are and to share a piece of their heart with the world so don't be so quick to judge them just because they are more popular.
