I’ve seen my fair share of gameplay, mostly from Kronos, some of Ares, and a little of Chaos, and I’m still looking forward to the game. Usually I don’t care about spoilers, but I’ve been trying not to look at anymore before the game releases. All I watched recently was Switch gameplay, because I preordered the game for Switch, and I wanted to be sure it runs well on Switch.
• 3 islands and 4 stage themes for 12 hours at full MSRP (for me that's $83 CAD) • green hill, chemical plant, sky sanctuary return AGAIN • 2d sections in the open zone • no shadow • no hyper sonic or equivalent • no new game plus, no reason to level • no city island, no return to station square i love the gameplay, i just dont think there's enough to justify the price tag
I still have a problem with this movie. I don't go to the cinema very often so I usually like to make sure the movies I see are worth it, and to do so I had to watch a few clips and spoilers. But from seeing all these leaks and spoilers I feel like there isn't really much left of the movie that I _haven't_ seen to keep me interested. That's what happened for this issue to come.

Another reason you probably feel this way is because the first island which is grassland - was split into 3 during development so you may be seeing clips from different islands - but they all look the fucking same.
Yea I feel the same way. Bummer. Nov 8th is right around the corner and I wish I could go in with little too no knowledge of the game. HOWEVER... This also means that we'll go in with a clearer head. So if the game really is good, then we'll still enjoy it even without that initial "surprise" feeling. Even after seeing so much of the game, it still looks fun...which is a great sign.

Just the fact that it's open world spells disaster for me. They keep trying to deviate from what made them successful and end up with products like Sonic '06 or Shadow the Hedgehog.

I haven’t watched a lot of sonic frontiers gameplay so I’m still pretty hyped. An open zone sonic game was something I’ve always wanted with sonic. Yes sure I watched maybe a few trailers out of skepticism but I never really wanted anything to do with the story. The game is made in Unity Engine. Unity doe not have the creative space that Unreal Engine has. Havok Engine is Sonic Team's go-to physics engine that Unity has access to. The Unity Team bought those assets and many others that Unreal have bought themselves. But Unity cannot make open world games like Unreal Engine can. It is flying too close to the sun.

Sonic has been in a rough patch for a while since Gens and many people felt like Sonic was back with Forces. Then what happened? It was so aggressively mid that Sonic became a laughing stock again. So I can totally see why you'd seek out more gameplay since Sega barely showed us anything until very recently. We don't know the story, we have only seen some of the stages, which supposedly there are A LOT! They have only showed footage of a few islands. How the hell did you come to the conclusion that you have been spoiled on the game? I'm not being an ass, maybe a little dickish, but I'm just curious. Now if what you have seen came from watching footage uploaded by people got the game early, than I apologize, and am sorry. I will say that this is usually how it is in the era of social media, people have to work hard to dodge spoilers as they will be all over, same with RUclips.
My issue with the game is that Sonic looks so damn stiff. Part of what makes 3D platformers fun and satisfying is the fluidity of animation, just look at a game like Mario Odessey.

Same -- still not sure how polished the game or animations are, and for every official trailer I get more excited but also a bit worried since I see some unpolished stuff, unfortunately. That's why I _want to_ watch more footage just to be sure, but at the same time I don't want to bc then there won't be many surprises left for me to genuinely be excited for when discovering during the gameplay :/

The game is made in Unity Engine. Unity doe not have the creative space that Unreal Engine has. Havok Engine is Sonic Team's go-to physics engine that Unity has access to.
The Unity Team bought those assets and many others that Unreal have bought themselves. But Unity cannot make open world games like Unreal Engine can. It is flying too close to the sun.

Sonic has been in a rough patch for a while since Gens and many people felt like Sonic was back with Forces. Then what happened? It was so aggressively mid that Sonic became a laughing stock again.
Now they're saying the same thing again with Frontiers and you don't wanna feel like you're gonna get ripped off. So I can totally see why you'd seek out more gameplay since Sega barely showed us anything until very recently.
And you're right, it does FEEL (caps for people about to go "but they didn't, go play game) like they've pretty much shown everything that has to be offered. There's more in there to be enjoyed though, but the gist of the game has pretty much been shown off. And that's okay.
Sonic fans see a negative thumbnail, pause the video and write a comment that would've been addressed in the video if they just watched a minute of the 2 minute video. Don't let those people shame

We don't know the story, we have only seen some of the stages, which supposedly there are A LOT! They have only showed footage of a few islands. How the hell did you come to the conclusion that you have been spoiled on the game? I'm not being an ass, maybe a little dickish, but I'm just curious. Now if what you have seen came from watching footage uploaded by people got the game early, than I apologize, and am sorry. I will say that this is usually how it is in the era of social media, people have to work hard to dodge spoilers as they will be all over, same with RUclips.

My issue with the game is that Sonic looks so damn stiff. Part of what makes 3D platformers fun and satisfying is the fluidity of animation, just look at a game like Mario Odessey.

You feel like you've seen most of the game when all you've seen is 3 trailers. No way they've shown off the whole game in just three compact trailers.
You know what I think, I think you've just ran out of things to complain about since the game has done nothing but look better and better with each bit of information, but rather than accept you're probably eating good with this game like most others have, you try to keep the bandwagon going by pulling petty complaints out of a crack.

Same -- still not sure how polished the game or animations are, and for every official trailer I get more excited but also a bit worried since I see some unpolished stuff, unfortunately. That's why I _want to_ watch more footage just to be sure, but at the same time I don't want to bc then there won't be many surprises left for me to genuinely be excited for when discovering during the gameplay :/
