    Liz I would give good money for some bright green nicksana plants. I’m not as bothered about variegation tbh. I don’t have many succulents that give that lovely colour and definition. They are delicious. Only got Leticia that is similar that will grow just indoors in my home. I do have a 10 head stem of Aeonium Lilipad which looks similar and it finally seems to be growing. I love your videos like this. Xx

    Do you have to do granite peppples, or will any pretty gravel pebbles work? Is there something special about the granite?

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  Год назад +1

      You can use a lot of other rocks for top dressing or into the soil (mineral rocks). But for me, I have access to granite for free. This is why I use it plus; Decomposed granite is an Igneous rock that contains a lot of other rocks/minerals in it. When it decomposes naturally, can release all the minerals goodness contained in this rocks/granite into the plants and they seem to love it.

    ;) question Liz, I just got 3 Christmas cactus and they came in 1 in pot, look like 3 leaves where rooted and stuck together, on each, I don't know what to do, should I take them apart, but gosh lately plants I bough where plants stuck together to look more full, and other have died, so not sure if I repot the way it is. I stumbled across your channel, thank you for all the help you give.

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  3 года назад

      I would just repot them as one and let them thicken up naturally. When big enough, you can easily take cuttings and they grow quite easily as long as you keep them on the dry side.

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  3 года назад

      Baby succulents every two weeks with liquid fertilizer.
      Mature in pots once a year with Pellet Fertilizer or slow release and once a month with liquid fertilizer incorporated with watering if I want to have babies.
      TAKE NOTE....Some succulents don't like fertilizer at all so have to be aware which ones do and which ones don't.

      In my experience, an ideal soil mix should be free draining which mean when watered, water should pass through easily but at the same time able to hold moisture to provide nutrients for the plants.
      Where you live, the succulent you have, your growing spot or location(indoor or outdoor) and the pot or planter used, will dictate the soil mix you'll need to use. Please see below this video link to my different soil mixes.

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK

      Most succulents don't need much soil to grow. The growth size is proportionate to the size of "ANY" container used. Where it's grown can also help or make difficult ID. Otherwise, best researching online stores by looking at different photos of succulents for ID. Thanks for watching.

      I don't water my succulents when it's over 30c. If I have to water them because they're really dry, I bring them inside where it's cooler and soak them for days tills they're fat or had enough to drink.
      Please check out my WATERING PLAYLIST VIDEO. Link below. Thanks!
