- Tom Winters Barbers in Cork is your shop for a relaxing unrushed traditional hot towel shave experience. Take some time to disconnect from all your worries in the world.
A combination of warm gentle steam, quality pre shave balms and oils, and hot towels followed by a sharp blade lead the Tom Winters Barbers process. Aftershave balms and ice cold towels finish the shave to bring you back to life and ready to take on the remainder of your day.
“I was away from Ireland for so many years and when I initially left, it was a one way ticket out of here. Never wanted to return.” -Stephen Winters
During those years, Stephen traveled as well as served in the military for over 9 years. And through all his travels and experiences, it became clear Ireland was where he wanted to be 🇮🇪
Stephen always considered cutting hair a hobby; something he started as a young teenager. He jokes his dad was definitely the recipient of many bad haircuts! Later, he cut hair on his travels and also in the military.
It wasn’t until he was back in Dublin having a haircut with 4th generation barber Sam Donnelly who suggested he seriously consider a barbering career💈
Five to six years were spent planning, visiting barbershops and observing before Stephen opened Tom Winters Barbers, named after his dad, in 2017.
The shop took Stephen a year to complete the buildout and included laying salvaged wood flooring from an old convent and reclaimed bricks from an old industrial chimney in Belfast. Both blend well and give the shop that rich texture and depth that only old materials can. Along with the handpicked antiques, the space has a warm and cozy atmosphere.
Stephen wants his shop to be a place for men to come and just be themselves. He feels “men need an environment where they can just openly speak,” and he believes “the barbershop is the best therapy a man can get.”
What he loves the most about barbering is seeing that return customer and watching them walk back in the door - "that says everything!" ❤️

This is probably the most flawless presentation and execution of the art of the barbershop trade I have ever seen. The layout of his tools, the preparation of shave cream and oils, one arm behind his back as he circled, all without a word spoken.

That barber is an example of a true master of his craft. Wow. Absolute perfection every second. I know one stop I'm definitely making whenever I finally make it over to visit Ireland.

That has to be the cleanest barbershop I’ve ever seen and the gentlemen was textbook professional.
Ok. I need to go to Ireland. The formality of the hand behind the back and every other movement so deliberate and careful was masterful. Even the proper attire enhanced the experience. The man came in for a shave and received an invigorating healing therapy. Great to see people take pride in what they do.

Very relaxing watching this excellent shave.
I get my hand straight razor shaved and beard trimmed every two weeks by a barber here in Memphis. The rate is 40 and I tip 20 on top. It’s usually a 45 minute to hour experience including hot towels and he makes his own shaving cream. It’s well worth the relaxation I get from it. For two hours a month I get peace and no one is asking me to do anything

As hard working men we deserve to treat ourselves with the best at times and feel absolutely great about it I'm learning this as I get older in life I deserve to treat myself with the best because I deserve it self love is the best love 🫡

I can see this barber has a healing and calming touch. You can tell a lot about a gentleman's hands, and his are perfect.
My dad was a barber for 43 years. Watching this brought back a lot of memories. I shined shoes at his shop for 7 years......

Always great to see someone conduct themselves with such dignity and class. He has both self respect and respect to the artistry and tradition of the field. Always a beautiful thing to see someone not only uphold these values, but even improve upon them.
We could use many more people like this, that care about what they do and how they present themselves. Absolute perfection.
Not so long ago in many countries nearly all men behaved this way. A good start is to stop wearing non-athletic clothing made of plastic.
When someone does their work with pride, and expertise, it becomes an art.
The cameraman is just so great at making this experience immersive. They somehow aren’t in the overview shot where the guy is getting stuff, but then get right back close up when he gets back to the client. I know it sounds small, but that attention to detail of the cameraman not being in those overview clips really adds to the immersion, awesome job and know it’s noticed and appreciated!❤😁

Have to say I never thought I’d be at a time in my life where I thought watching someone get a shave would be both relaxing and entertaining. But I’m finding myself enjoying this and wanting the experience myself.
Absolutely love the firm handshake at the very end. A perfect, respectful shave all the way through. A friendly, professional barber, not shy to keep quiet unless necessary to speak. This is perfect in so many ways. Amazing. Period.

I wish we could do this! I just won't go to a "Spa".. I haven't found one yet that wasn't so ultra feminine. Not that I am not feminine but it would just be nice to go in and have a spa treatment in such a great place without all the frills, if you get my drift. I have no interest in makeup or anything like that.

Like, just the feel of all of this, but without a blade or shaving anything from your face. Harry has done it in the Czech Republic I think. A really simple way to get the experience, I don't think any barber would mind.

This is brilliant on so many levels. First off, the art and mastery of Stephen Winters. The shop, the ambience, the tradition. I could go on and on. There's also an intangible here, something magical connecting it all. If you told me I watched a 40-minute video of a shave, daily, I'd tell you you're nuts, but I do.

I was so impressed by this barber. His skill was not only in the masterful removal of the facial hair, but in the complete care of the skin. The gentleman's skin looked soft, smooth, and completely healthy. From the beginning to the very end, skin was conditioned and protected. The essential oils, creams and lotions must smell wonderful. I got this treatment before my wedding day 8 years ago at a local salon. It was absolutely wonderful! This video brings back memories. I still use my shaving razor and it's the only way I shave. Nothing beats a single blade razor experience like this one😁

The cleanliness, the professionalism, the meticulousness and the absolute master of this art is beyond words for me. I’d absolutely love to visit here and set aside some time to be pampered.
I like the fact the barbershop is a place that every man can hold court. A place that we could truly be ourselves. And there's nothing like a good old fashioned style haircut and a shave. Especially the shave its like their shedding skin. And its quite a euphoric experience when its completed. This is like taking you into a place away from where you are. You're a new man when they're done with you. It's like an out of body experience. I like it when the barbers take their time shaving me because I believe that a haircut and a shave changes they way a person feels about themselves on the inside. And I look like someone else afterwards even better.

One thing I enjoyed was that there was no forced small talk on either side, yet no awkward silence. When the barber needed the customer to turn his head, he just gently guided it, and the customer didn’t feel the need to say “That feels good.”, “That’s too hot.”, or whatever
