  • Instructors Mickey Schuch and Sang Lee talk about concealed carry belts for everyday carry (EDC). What should you worry about for daily use?
Belts are often overlooked, but this foundation gear can make-or-break your carry setup. Is your gun really concealed if you can barely keep your pants up? Leather vs. Nylon belts... Getting a belt that matches the clip on your holster and the loops on your pants.
1.5 or 1.75 inch belts and clips are the most common. Be aware, 1.75" belts are a tight fit for most trouser loops.
Key things to look for in a carry belt are 1) Rigidity (Rigid, but NOT TOO Rigid), 2) Durability, 3) Getting the right size for your Holster (i.e. 1.5").
    Belts shown include the:
    Blade-Tech Looper Belt
Blue Alpha Gear EDC Belt with SR Buckle (Plastic)
Blue Alpha Gear EDC Belt with Cobra Buckle
Blue Alpha Gear EDC Belt with Hybrid EDC Belt
    Holsters shown include the:
Glock 17 Made 2 Carry Holster
Wilson 92G Brigadier Tactical Blade Tech Holster

I typically use a shoe lace for a belt, which you can thread through the trigger well negating the need for a holster. It's light weight and super comfortable, and you can carry inside or outside the waist band in any position. Simply pull the lace taught and tie. I would recommend a double knot and some blue loctite though.

Could just always be holding your gun so you don’t even need a belt. Concealing is pretty easy though some people may wonder why your hand is in your pants. Not really their business.

I have a Kore gun belt that I love. The fit and finish on it is incredible, and the reinforced core is just thick enough. It doesn't make the belt uncomfortable, while still providing optimum support while carrying. The price was fine considering the use and look of this belt rivals many designer belts on the market. All in all I would highly recommend this belt for anyone looking for a great carry belt. If I had one complaint though, they need more color options for the leather.

Ive had a Kore leather gun belt almost 2 years now that I wear all the time, it looks like new almost. It's the best gun belt I ever had and I"ve had alot of really thick, uncomfortable belts over the years. But this belt adjusts with small notches and fits like a glove. Way better than any others. Its stiff enough to support my glock 19 perfectly in jeans. Not tactical but good around town. Its not supposed to say "look at me I'm wearing a gun belt." That's why they call it concealed carry folks.

In my opinion, Kore makes the best gun belt I have ever owned. Comfortable, easy to adjust between sitting and standing through clothes without having to expose my firearm. Perfect balance between rigidity and low profile. It's definitely worth a look.

I have 2 of the Blue Alpha Gear hybrid belts, they’re awesome. I wear mine every day. It’s the last belt of this kind I’ll every have to buy. Blue Alpha has a no questions asked life time guarantee. Best purchase I ever made.

Totally agree that the belt is so important. My 43 fell off my flimsy Walmart belt hit the floor and discharged. It had an aftermarket trigger which allowed the safety’s to be overidden. I did two things. First I had the OEM trigger reinstalled and bought the Blue Alpha Low Profile belt.

It was definitely a great watch. I definitely agree to the fact that a high quality gun belt is the best buddy of the IWB gun holster. That is why I advise people to go for heavy duty, leather gun belts that they can easily order from Urban Carry Holsters.

Something I've never heard discussed is using the restroom while carrying a holster...
I know it sounds silly but lets say you are carrying on the side on behind you. The last thing you want is movement especially if you are in a multiple stall restroom. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about because this is the furthest from our minds until you are in this situation but I can honestly tell you that I've personally been witness to someone's firearm falling while they were in the reatroom... I was the only one in there thankfully and I just felt embarrassed.
    Any suggestions??

here's a low cost belt alternative. im here in south dakota and i ride horses for a living on a ranch. im very lucky to bee only 40 miles from one of the best boot and saddle makers in the country. Mark Schumacher. for 50$ he'll knock a belt out for you in about 10 minutes. custom fit. so, if you are anywhere close to a saddle maker stop by his shop one day and ask for a new belt. im going on 3 years with mine and its only now starting to get where ill bee needing a new one soon.

I own 2 KORE gun belts and they're the best gun belts I have ever worn by a very wide margin. The X1 Tactical belt is rigid enough to properly support a full size 1911 in an OWB holster under comfortable tension. My daily CCW is a M&P Shield with a spare mag, both IWB, and the KORE gun belts allows me to carry all day without any discomfort. Most days I wear Jeans and a T-shirt, and I prefer the X1 Tactical belt when in these clothes. For anything less casual I wear the X3 Leather belt. Fit and finish, as with the X3 Leather belt, is exceptional, and both are attractive as well. Cutting the belt to fit and attaching the buckle is an easy task, and adjusting the belt is easier than any belt I've worn in the past, even more so than with prior gun belts. So I would recommend checking out KORE belts for high quality, comfortable gun belts.

A friend of mine showed me his Kore essentials leather gun belt that uses a track instead of holes. I was immediately interested in the practicality of the design, the way it will fit individually and the classy look. So I bought one and it works for multiple styles of dress in daily use - with or without a gun - and when carrying a duty pistol in a duty or range style holster. I would recommend checking out the Kore gun belt.

I got the kore gun belt and I love it. It's been better than I even hoped for. Buckle is thinner than my giant leather belt one. It's stiffer overall while remaining thinner overall. The small adjustments are why I gave this belt a try. My leather gunner belt was never a perfect fit no matter what hole I used. This belt can be perfect no matter what you are wearing.

Sorry I kid, lol I have had that issue and had success with Polish engineering. Neodymium magnets, hot glued a small one to my cheaper kydex holster, the steel clip of the holster holds on to my pants tight cuz the magnet. Works with a lighter gun, if you can see well you can sow loops on your inside waist band and put another jaw string in your pants just to hold em up better, but that’s not comfy

Instead I got a kore ratcheting style belt and honestly there is just no comparison between it and other tactical belts that use other types of fastening methods. I have used other belts and they are strong and meet my needs, but they are difficult to adjust "on the fly" and do not micro-adjust like these belts. I also have a leather dress belt from kore and I really like both of them.

thx4reply: i ended up getting a new w/o tags 5.11 1.5" trainer belt. it came in mail today as advertised, but it's too big and it won't go small enough. i ordered the wrong size and i'm not gonna return it because it's my fault. i'll have to take it to the boot man in town. he has a big sewing mach and i'll get him to fix it. it was $30.00 - free ship - no tax. it will prob cost $10-$15 for the boot man to fix it. that's what i hate about buying on-line. i wish i had gotten a 1.75" with a cobra buckle. harder to string, but easier after that. i'm not really all that impressed with this 5.11 belt........... it's ok, but i want a thicker belt. i want it very thick, very wide and super rigid. i bought it on EB. thx4vid & plz be careful putting that weapon in the front of your pants.

Like billy the kid remember never say whose there in the dark they’ll know your position stay sneaky don’t fire until you know absolutely it’s not a bad guy tiger in the dark baby . Cough long winded but I study cowboys because they lived it just as playing blues I didn’t listen to Jimi Hendrix or jimmy page or Eric Clapton I listened to who they listened to to understand the soul of blues and I do the same thing with my guns always learning.

Tks for the narrow mined male only video. Most females don't wear a belt, get real as more female are carrying for protection. Maybe consider broading your perspective.

Rheba our viewership is about 1% female. That doesn't make me narrow minded, but rather not a specialist in women's fashions. I appreciate your need and desire to gather new information. I know nothing of nor will I, of women's fashion. You don't want me dressing you, trust me. That said there are many ladies that specialize in this. I'd suggest looking at them. A good one is Roka arms Training, here on RUclips.
If you wish to properly support a pistol you should have a belt. As this video is about belts for CCW that's its purpose. why watch it if you don't wear a belt?
It is not titled "all the ways to conceal a gun" or "carrying in a purse"
Just trying to respond with a full spectrum answer and a broad horizon of thought. Seriously check out eve at Roka

You have explained why your female viewership is so low; fortunately there are other video's.

That is quite narrow minded. It is neither my inclination nor duty to be everything to all people, especially when there are others better qualified for the topic. Those percentages are pretty consistent for this genre across the board. Do you walk into a Mexican restaurant and get angry that they don't sell spaghetti and meatballs?

I used to be really fat.. now I’m just fat 😅
I used to use regular hard belt, but due to big belly, and no ass... any thing I wear in my waist falls down.I always wear a suspender under my shirt and it keep everything from falling.
Now I’m 100lbs lighter, and I still use suspender sometimes with a dickies work belt.
But I’m fine with my dickies work belt, it’s pretty much like a gun belt

The irony of people in the gun community supporting a felon who dealt narcotics and then as a felon illegally stockpiled firearms; the same guy who lies, steals and rips off countless customers, all while laughing his ass off about it and posting it on youtube as if it was something to brag about. You guys can't give him your money fast enough, lol.

MickeyHaller a bit self righteous of you, don't you think. He did his time. You're just pissed because he is successful and you aren't.
The best is watching his idiot customer videos. I love how he sticks up for the business owner who have to deal with idiot customers who are incapable of reading the simplest terms and conditions. They make gear for people who kill people. Pussies need not buy.

    • @edwo6648
      @edwo6648 6 лет назад +2

and you come back with a perfect example of self righteous. You setup a straw man to prove your own moral superiority. By comparing John's mistakes to a child rapist, one of the most vile crimes imaginable. Do you really think they are on par? You realize by doing that you shot your credibility right square in the foot?
As to their customer service, given that I have actually done business with them and have 2 more orders in the pipe line. I see no problem with the way they do business in the combat arms industry. The problem I do see is a lack of maturity in a few of their customers and an inability to simply read their policies. Simply put, they don't and won't kiss the ass of snow flake like you. The customer isn't always right and it isn't the job of the business to fix the customers mistakes.
Owning a business myself, I find it refreshing to see someone who doesn't cow tow to the incompetence of that small minority of customers. And then they uses negative marketing to drive more business to them. Brilliant!
They make industry leading products for professionals not gear for mall ninjas or snow flakes.

SlainByBlind Willis gives back what you give him.
"hey bro I need xyz, you got any laying around?" nope, order, wait your turn.
Or if you have an actual need, he will expedite your order.
If you have a perceived need i.e. you aren't going to die without it. Just take whatever is in stock, and spray paint it.
I would happily take a rig covered in pink penis icons, and crappy perfume to go run a class. I wouldn't bother to cover it up. The bullets don't lie. I'll just run my rig and laugh. I might be covered in pink dicks and puking behind the berm every break.
But, I tend to outshoot people who care what the guy next to them is wearing.
      YMMV
