This is a live concert it is Tool with no backing they are in Boston ..it's just focused on the drummer Danny Carey one of the best ever . He wears BB team jerseys for the city he playing in.

This is the best drummer ever! They call him the octopus because only a drummer with eight appendages can make that kind of sound come out of a drum kit.
Absolutely. As a life long musician myself people don’t realize that each of his limbs are playing in different time signatures which is damn near inhuman
As you can see; if you play Tool, the Tool Army will join you on the journey. Nothing we love more than seeing someone experience the magic of Tool for the first time. Your numbers already show this with over 3000 views in about 17 hours of being put out. If I might suggest something when watching Tool; always wear headphones so you can hear all the intricacies in their music, avoid videos as they can distract from the music, and try for lyric videos so you can understand what Maynard is singing as the lyrics are soooo important. Hope you keep playing more Tool and enjoy the rabbit hole you are about to dive down. Thanks :)

Any kid who is practicing to be a rock drummer knows of Danny Carey.He plays multiple time signatures frequently during Tool music in unique and inventive patterns. Always surprising.

Tool live at 1:40 - 1:48 you can hear (and for a moment see) some of the crowd cheering and again at other times throughout the song. This band is one of the premier live performance acts in the world, flawless, and Danny Carey is one of the ultimate drum maestros in history.

TOOL are their own category of rock. Their's Heavy Metal, Death Metal, Prog Rock, so on so on, and then there's TOOL. The have been my favorite band for 30yrs.
I just saw them back in January 2024 in New York since the first time that I saw them back in 1992 and they were amazing!! As stated below, this was just the drum camera; the whole band is performing live at incredible levels!
That’s one song from a 2 hour set. He’s amazing. And he’s 58 years old in this video. He’s the drummer for Tool and their rhythm section is second to none. Check out some Black Sabbath. Bill Ward on drums and Geezer Butler on bass are top notch. Go with War Pigs live in Paris 1970 to see what that’s all about. Even though they do Geezer dirty and only show him for about 15 seconds.
If you're interested, there's a 50 minute interview with Danny, by youtuber and music producer Rick Beato. It shows off his amazing warmth and wealth of knowledge. He started percussing in the 70s.

Tool is such a good band. very interested to see your reaction and hear your thoughts. The first time I saw this video...I was amazed as this had to have taken a long time for Danny to remember.
Don't get put off by all the folks commenting about "uhm, Danny is part of the band Tool/he doesn't have a backing track/it's not a solo/etc." You weren't aware of Tool, or Danny, until this, and I take it you're not a musician. Yet you were still amazed, and it shows. 🙂

TOOL is what happened in a lab one day when some one took Pink Floyd, Rush and Black Sabbath threw them in a Blender in a blender. Great band amazing music and mind blowing concerts.

The reason you thought the beat/rhythm was hard to follow is because Tool are known for their crazy polyrhythms. Sometimes it kind of makes your mind blow up.
The holy trinity of drummers, in my opinion, are:
1. Danny Carey
2. Neil Peart (RIP)
3. Gavin Harrison
Danny is also into sound of his kits.Tool plays crazy time signatures and are the best progressive rock bands today.

One of my favorite bands and drummers. Danny is the man. The lead singer Maynard has two other bands called A Perfect Circle and Puscifer, both very great. Try them out. "Momma Sed" by Puscifer.

Maddy Danny is the drummer for Tool. Go back to the Sober video and look closer at the drummer......It's Danny. For most bands, it's true for the bass and drums to be the foundation, but Tool is another monster altogether. Adam Danny and Justin are all three playing different time signatures weaving in and out of each other while also linking up at different points of the song.
The average TOOL song rivals the best drum solos most other drummers could even attempt. TOOL is the most underrated band in the last 3 decades. Their music is so complex critics can’t even understand it enough to speak on it.
Danny Carey is the best drummer currently breathing our atmosphere.
