Oh my god it's gorgeous!! I've got an idea to make a hornet cosplay for Halloween this year and this video is what I needed ahaha. A quick question tho, around what amount of foam should i get for this project? I've never made any props with foam so I have no idea how much should I buy ahahaha
@@aikaau It really depends on what all you make out of foam and also what type of foam! For EVA foam a small roll of 5mm will be perfect for making the mask, but if you plan to make the needle out of EVA as well you might want to get a larger (and thicker) roll! Also be sure to get some spongy foam to cushion the inside of the mask! I have a second video on my channel of me making the full cosplay, it's not a full tutorial but it might give you a better idea of what you'll need!
@@juliademartini5087 Covering the seams with foam clay really helps!! I used a bunch of foam clay, sanding, and filler primer to get it to the smoothness I wanted!
unfortunately I don't feel confident enough in my sewing ability to make a tutorial on that I'm sorry!! But I highly recommend looking at videos of how to make a full-circle cloak and going from there, that's essentially how I made mine!
Literally just bought the pattern on etsy! Thanks man I did NOT have the time to figure thing thang out from scratch

how do you hide the seems in the foam, are you coating the full mask with some thing at the end?
