This is literally a 3am thought. That's why Isabella sings/hums that everytime she sends one of the gracefield children to their "new adoptive parents" because she knows they're gonna die. She is literally hoping to meet all of the dead children in heaven "love, can we meet again soon in the bluest of skies where a tomorrow waits for you and I" and "I know I'll see you on the other side" like when she's dead, she wants to be with all her children along with Leslie and be at peace

I know this is late, but I have a feeling that Norman is alive. Based off from what you said, I did remember Isabella singing her lullaby when she was leading Conny away. Although, when Norman was getting shipped away, Isabella didn’t sing.

I actually felt bad for Sister Krone when she died. Even her kid self was so cute in my opinion - and at first I was like “NoOoO nOt SiStEr KrOnE” but now I think of it, it’s terrible for her to die.
First of all, I hate her, but then I realized that she helps children to escape for their freedom. So Sister krone is one of my best Character in Promise Neverland and second is Isabella and third is Emma.

Isabella shows her true emotions 4 times during this series, season 1. The rest is pretense when she takes on the role of a Mom. Once, when Emma cries after Norman is shipped and you can see a flicker of sympathy cross Isabella's face before she turns and leaves the room. Another time when she hears Ray humming her lullaby as he reads a book, and her eyes widen in shock as she realizes who he really is. Also, when she is taking Norman to be shipped, he turns to her and asks, "Hey, Mama....are you happy?" She loses her composure for a split second. In the final episode of season 1, she reaches up and frees her hair from the bun, and her real self shines through again as she accepts that she lost and wishes her children good luck and safety. She does love them, in her own way. Isabella maybe a villain, but she is just trying to survive in the end.

Isabella isn't technically a villain. She became a mother to "live longer than anyone else" referring to Leslie, who was shipped out and eaten. It's not hard to believe that she didn't want the children being shipped out, which is why she is seen humming the tune Leslie played for her when they were kids, while Conny was being shipped out. She was just trying to live a life Leslie couldn't.
I can’t imagine how much it must have hurt for Isabelle to have to lead all the kids she has gotten to love over the years to death.

So my theory isn't only that he's Emma's dad but that he's still alive somewhere being forced to impregnate the chosen few women that are smart enough to make it to age 12 this part of the theory obviously heavily dependent on the premise that they keep at least a few very intelligent males alive and don't just freeze the males sperm but regardless it's a fun theory to think about whether it turns out to be true or not.

This song was make by a boy who was very dear to Isabella.
She’s technically the villain, but she’s conflicted.
In the story, the kids are being harvested at an orphanage to be… well… harvested.
Each time one of them gets a “foster family” they’re shipped out and killed.
Each of the farms had about 40 kids, and one “mom”.
The only people at the farms who are supposed to know about the dark twist are the “moms”.
By the time the kids reach twelve, they’re killed.
UNLESS they’re a girl. If so, she has the choice to be killed like the rest of her family, or train to be a “mom”.
But even though that means life for them, it means the dark cycle continues.
Isabella was once a kid at the orphanage too, and as previously said, a boy dear to her wrote this song.
“Once you get adopted, come find me.”
They wanted to continue life together. To be together.
But he was killed, like many of the other children.
When Isabella became a “mom” it was a life or death choice. It was do that, or die.
What she was doing was wrong. It was terrible. But she loved the kids like they were her own.
Every time she shipped off a child, she sang this lullaby to keep from crying.
She really did love the kids. But her desire to live was greater. She didn’t think “What can I do to save them?”
To her, that wasn’t an option. It was only, “How can I make their short life happy?”
To her, there was no choice. And to her, there was nothing she could do.
She wasn’t right. She wasn’t a good guy. But she was forced to be bad. To be misunderstood.
She was forced to watch the people she loved so dearly die. Over and over again. For the rest of her life.
Many people hate her. Many people love her. To me, she was just an excellently written character.
She wasn’t good. She was bad. But she wasn’t just bad. She was a person, who wanted to live. To survive.
What she did was wrong. She was wrong. But her love was real. She loved every child like her own.
And she was going to have to live a life of tears. A life of sorrow.

I like how the anime reflects society. How most people eat animals and these animals have to be separated from their parents as if they don’t have any feelings or any other use other than food.

I usually come back to this once in a while after a few months to know that this manga/anime was AMAZING with a good story, characters, and plot but now watching season 2 makes this feel like a graveyard but it feels like a bittersweet sendoff to the series.
The transition of Isabella as a child and then suddenly being an adult in a world like that (1:53) just broke me because to me it signifies how quickly her life changed, one day she was a happy care-free child who loved playing with her best friend Leslie and had zero problems at all, the next said best friend is being "adopted" and she has to say goodbye to the one person she relied on, then she finds out that her home is just a farm, then it hits her that her best friend wasn't adopted he was eaten, and she realized she would be too, until she was given a choice an impossible one, a path where if she chose anything else she would've been killed, to live and be a cog to a system she can't possibly think to change on her own, or to die not doing anything at all to try and change that system.
Of course she chose the only option she had at that time ESPECIALLY since she was alone and did not have anyone to rely on, she chose survival, to live for her and her best friend who never got the chance, who like her was given a choice she couldn't avoid or refuse, she used a melody only she and him knew to give her strength throughout all of that, and she became a mother, one who loved her children and desperately wished she could've loved them normally, one who tried to give them a normal and happy childhood before eventually meeting their deaths, for she couldn't do anything but that, and if she tried she would've died and no one else would've done the same as she did, no one else would love and try to give her children a happy life like she did, no one else would've seen the point.
(but that's just an analysis, a character analysis.) (and also based on what I understand, so again this is just my analysis)

The part that really got me was when they were all escaping and Isabella could have reached out for Emma but didnt she just told her that she didnt want her to leave her. She just wanted someone to stay with her because she really did love them. And then she was happy the left.
This js made me tear. Isabella's story was truly tragic and heart breaking.
I remember thinking how once Isabella died, she must have opened her eyes to see the sight of Leslie playing the melody, looking up to her with a smile saying “It’s nice to see you again, Isabella”, with the lullaby in the background as she runs up to him and pulls him into a hug, and the scene ends with her sitting beside him while he plays the melody once more...
Anddd now I’m getting emotional, sorry about that-
And I like to imagine that either she is a kid again, or she gets to see him as her age. And that all her children that have passed on are there too. Either grown however many years have passed, or the age they were killed🥲

if you think about it, Leslie died thinking that he was going somewhere better, and when Isabella found out about the farms, she realized what happened to Leslie and how he died for food for demons...

how bad she must have felt knowing how close Emma, Ray, and Norman were, just like herself and Leslie...
she must have been heartbroken...but she still did it, knowing that Norman was going to be poisoned and tested on and Ray was to be "the best meal ever" for the demons
if she never became a mom, would she be with Leslie somewhere else and be happy?
The anime did such a marvelous job of making Isabella a truly pitiable character in the span of just half an episode -- even in spite of the horrible things she did throughout the season. In my humble opinion, at least.
This song is most likely a huge part of the reason it worked so well.
