I actually feel sorry for Matt he's consantly under pressure to be the same person as 15 years ago. I love how every album in is based on diffrent concept and I wish fans wouldn't be so attached to the images from the past.
Guess why there's a song called pressure on there new album.
About to roast every hater out there haha
I get why people are attached to the past, but I wish they'd just let it go.
J Subtext But how do you know ow they're not refining their sound this way because they like this sound? Bands should never pander to audiences and I don't think Muse is doing that same with Arcade Fire, they make what they love.

That "ghostly" sounding thing? Yeah, Matt Bellamy has actually said in interviews before that it's actually a heavily edited vocal track! Believe it or not, that's his voice. Think about the background vocals in the chorus - it's just that with tons of effects layered on
Who the heck is Rudy, I‘m here because I love MUSE.

Same here !
I mean... If you think about it, now these people who might have never heard Muse's amazing music have been exposed to at least one song. Which might make them curious to hear more. Next thing you know, they're listening to Black Holes and Revelations and The Resistance and a die hard fan. I'm just glad more people are jumping aboard the Muse train.

Somebody else who feels like this song is to underrated
Here here
No... It's absolutely overrated. It got 21 millions views. They did way better stuff, as their whole first years discography, which didn't get enough recognition... And is still excellent today. This is just bad pop following the commercial trends. And the worst thing about it is that IT WORKS WELL
Well it's a great song but has a very limited audience, so 21mill isn't bad
This song is writen to be experienced live. The chorus just beggs or thousands of voices (been there, done that).
This song is amazing, change my mind.
This song is more relevant than i think alot of people realize

Their creativity never ceases to amaze me! When I see comments like "this is not Muse anymore", all I can think is: Muse is what they want it to be and it's always amazing what they come up with! I just love these masterminds.
For me, Muse is still Muse and this is still a Muse type of song, or maybe i'm just that open minded regarding experimentation or probably i can spot similarity between two very different song. As someone who listened to any genre of music, Simulation Theory is still so Muse, but that's just my own opinion.
Yes they have changed but its a good change and it wasn't sudden it was gradual and each new album they bring out just gets better and better
when they shit like that , they were never a muse fan in the first place. edit, meaning they are a fan of a album or song but not the band cause they always be changing it up.
That reminds me of Linkin Park.
There always was something new with every album, my favourite being A Thousand Suns, people that say a band has changed never was a fan of said band but only the "sound" of the albums they say is their favourite.
What happens with muse is that all their albums are completely different, and there are people who dislike that, while for me is one of the best things of the group; they never make something similar to what they've done before, they enjoy changing and improving and trying new methods and genres
If you re watching this after 6 years, you are a legend!!
Weekly if not daily 😅😅
nah matt never disappoints
I've been listening to Muse for 20 years and this is still just as awesome for me as Citizen Erased was back in the day. I remember people thought Muse were becoming too 'pop-ey' even around Black Holes and Revelations, but they've always been such a cool band with such inventive lyrics and interesting themes.
This comment makes me happy 💜💜💜
Also why is 'pop' considered such a bad thing? It's as if by pop everone just thinks of the awful bubblegum pop popularized by VH1 and the ilk.
Citizen erased is the best song they have ever released. That song single handedly got me through my teens.
most early muse fans, me included felt they where slowly becoming a queen cover band.
after hearing the remake of origin of symmetry recently and putting all the old muse albums, b sides and even newest album drones on my playlist I've come to accept that Muse are the best band ever.
Bellamy has more talent, creativity and soul than the majority of bands could hope for together as a 5 piece.
The dudes just on cloud 9 atm and writing whatever the fuck he wants/feels and I'm happy for him.
alot of the new shits great but after hearing the origin of symmetry remake its gona be hard for any band to top that masterpiece or need to.

That and Space Dementia is a masterpiece.
Shit made me literally buy a piano just to try learn it.
Love that Bellamy was rocking a 7 string before it was popular 20 years ago though with Citizens erased

I’ve been a MUSE fan since 01 and have grown to love all old and most of their new stuff ... I think some fans forget these guys aren’t in their 20’s anymore .. they and we have to grow with time .. music changes throughout the years and for them to stay relevant they have to tweak and adjust their sound ... I love it ! Thought Contagion is Contagious💜💙
Traci B FANS LIKE U ARE AMAZING
Traci B I think it’s important to remember this. Even if it wasn’t to stay relevant, people’s tastes change. People grow and evolve in terms of style all the time in music.
And by changing, they (and their fans) need to accept that some people are not going to be happy with that. People don't have to love every song of a band. Not to mention that their new songs are catchy, but they are inferior in a lot of aspects (like conplexity and originality) when compared to the older ones.
Zoro on Fire I agree 100% .. once I realized after The 2nd Law the direction MUSE we’re going in I had to accept it and realize the songs were going to be more catchy and less unique . If it was up to me every album would sound like Showbiz/Origins mixed with Absolution and Black Holes ... then again every artist I grew up listening to in the past is either extinct or using auto tune and house beats 🤦🏾♀️
I got hooked on Uno way back when! This isn't my thing but I'm glad they're still making music that appeals to people, and trying new things. Otherwise they'd be wasting their enormous talent.
Muse is the best arena rock band since the turn of the century. They have to carry water for a lot of people. And as a result expectations are always unrealistically high for new releases. Dig down and Thought Contagion are Singles. Singles get radio play. Radio play gets people to come to the concert. The concert is where they hit us with the epic album cuts that are Not radio friendly. So relax, be patient, Muse will deliver. They always do.
THANK YOU! I'm trying to deliver this point to people but they don't understand!
Muse, inevitably, became too big, because they are very good indeed. They need to satisfy the commercial audience as well, and, accept it or not, they do radio songs better than anyone in the last 25 years! They are just too good.
Yeah, except they’re not a band to often play deep cuts at concerts. There had been exceptions and rarity shows, but if you look at the regular tour set, you’d find mostly singles from old (excluding Showbiz) and newer albums.
thats what the cure did. Used pop hits like lovecats to stay afloat while focussing on 10 minute dirges lol
Muse delivers more than Domino's Pizza
Still don't have high hopes for them. They have to prove it too for the fans. Im not gonna buying a album with closed eyes. They have to amaze me. Dig Down was "urg" and Thought Contagion was "solid", but they have to show me much much more than this

@@Atari-Dude your profile picture
Probably not the most accurate representation of my age; that was from when I was like 10, hahaha. I'm 17 now... Still 7 years younger than that actress, but I'd say "age range" goes up to 5-7 years older or younger than your current age. Well at least once you're a full adult-- while in your teens, you shouldn't go more than 3 years younger than you imo.
I dunno what the fuck you just said little man, but you special 😁
I think it's perfectly valid for people to drop off at some point because a band's style no longer matches their own. But, with that being said, Muse is one of my favorite bands of all time BECAUSE they are able to change their style without changing the soul of their music. The exploration of themes that are both timely and timeless, the foregrounding of heterogeneity...I think Muse poses a compelling argument against the singular, linear narrative.
It's definitely valid for people to drop out whenever but it's not fair to blame the musicians.
Yes bands change over time, but so does the listener. We're all constantly changing.
It's natural for people to change their minds. It's quite insane to feel betrayed because a band changed their sound in a particular album. We aren't married to MUSE. It's definitely a disservice to the band especially since they have tried pretty hard to connect with their fans.
Very true-they allow themselves to grow like normal people. I mean, the alternative would be to produce the same sound over and over again, and people would still complain, right? Oh well. More room for us at the concerts :p

Superb work, and the latest album is particularly strong. Kudos! And apologies for not giving it the proper consideration before.

Read the lyrics, they talk about some pretty eye opening stuff.
These big corps, they want to have your mind under lock and key for their control. They give you thoughts, they give you an identity, and you do what you told, but you dont realise, because its happened from the moment you were born, so you would never have thought otherwise.
I have two questions for everyone,
1. Are you thinking for yourself?
2. Are you living for yourself?
Please take deep thought with these questions, and re-visit the question frequently. If the answer is No, dig deep and discover why, and then take the control over yourself back.
Be on the look out for dis-infotainment, disinformation and misinformation (research the terms if you don't understand). They want you all in the thought contagion.

Imagine one day waking up and realizing ALL of the mainstream media, corporations, institutions, states are tightly connected and have a covert, nefarious agenda against humanity with majority of people unwittingly working for it. No one to save you, no police or court to rescue you, no tv talking head to bring anything to light. Everyone else around you sees you as a nut. Nobody wants that.
@@ij2759 People think your theories are nutty because they're inapplicable to the real world, if not completely baseless. In regard to their impact, they're mostly scary and defeatist instead of outrageous and empowering. They might seem empowering to you because they enable you to go around babbling abstractly about how you've "realized" what's behind the curtain while most people are dumb sheep, but to me it seems like you're just turning into a sad cynic. Alas, maybe it's not too late after all, to agitate for a revolution and avert the final solution. So let me elaborate on my first sentence.
The establishment does not have a "covert, nefarious agenda against humanity", not consciously anyway. However capitalism harms you and your fellow workers stems from it being a mode of production without a common plan - not the exact opposite like you're claiming. The triumph of modern nation states that enforce private property rights is the consequence of a chaotic struggle between traditional forms of ownership and (often violent) expropriation. Neither the capitalist class nor the world's governments are monoliths. Pick any two corporations of the same sector and you'll notice that, because their interests are more or less identical, their agendas are contradicting each other. They're competing for the same spending power of consumers, among other things. Same goes for states and their governments. Whenever they choose to cooperate, they do it for the sake of competition. Against other states and regions, against political groups and terrorists, against whoever threatens their interests. And yes, they're still trying very hard to reform the anarchic origins and idiotic natural laws of capital accumulation. But without applying the cooperative and internationalist principles of socialism, it can only end in the destruction of the planet or worse: everything stays more or less like it is right now.
To your bitter conclusion "no one to save you", let me quote the literal translation of a poem by some guy named Eugène Pottier:
There are no supreme saviours
Neither God, nor Caesar, nor tribune.
Producers, let us save ourselves,
Decree the common salvation.
These lyrics, in many different variations, were sung by idk how many millions of people all over the world during the course of the last 150 years. So on that note, fuck "thinking for youself" if you're - like myself - unqualified to come up with anything better than Marx. Think rationally and seriously study our current material conditions along with its history. Be a critic of society, but do it right: Organize collectively against your plight.
oh shit that even rhymes lmao

Totally agree!!! I liked Dig Down, but this is wooooow!! :D
The two main kinds of comments are:
1. "This is not like Muse at all. I want the old Muse back!"
2. "This song is great! The old Muse are back!"
This is rather confusing...
Trust me, This is no where near old muse
ddebling And Starlight is nothing like Showbiz either :)
I've recently gotten into Muse a few months ago (now I love them) and I've been listening to all the new and old songs. There is no difference, they are all great and people should appreciate them.
At school I listen to this all the time. My hands no longer shake and I feel all my anxiety go away. I’m proud to say I found my first comfort song. Although it’s not a cute guitar instrumental or classical which seems more expected. I can’t help but feel safe and at ease when I hear this song.
anyone else here because of rudy pankow from outer banks? he’s so hot
pink tint saaaame tho
im here because muse kicks ass not some guy singing it.
Scottish Buggie whats muse
Who?
Chip C watch outer banks on netflix ❤️
That baseline ... catchy little number
People need to understand that they're very talented and capable musicians. I would be a waste if they don't experiment and if they just keep making the same music all over the years by repetition. This is Muse EVOLVING, and I personally dont think they've reached their top level. Try to enjoy this guys.
Gonzalo Iván Cortez we lost Linkin Park by this mindset. Good luck Muse.
This isn't experimentation. Go listen to the Imagine Dragons and any number of other pop rock bands and tell me this type of sound and song hasn't been done before.
Gonzalo Iván Cortez exactly!!
Yes, evolving. They went fucking backwards with this. It's incredibly over simplistic, nothing really stands out, 10 seconds into the song and you've already heard all it has to offer, which, honestly, has already been done a million times by now. Same with Dig Down, they just copy-pasted Madness, the sound, the structure, even the solo sounds almost the same and even starts in the same part of the song. It's the same fucking song but worse. I'm all for experimentation and evolution but at least put some effort in it dammit. They're just being lazy now, and it shows
Daniele Boldrini YES exactly
Born in ‘63; still rockin’ in ‘24. May rock never die! If I were a vampire, I’d turn all the great musicians first!
Still a muse classic to me, always loved this song and I'll never fail to enjoy listening and singing it !
To all the MUSE fans that miss the "old muse" you need to understand that music evolves, you can't always do the same kind of music or you become boring and predictible.
BTW I loved the song
Ricardo Ruelas THANK YOU SO MUCH that's exactly what I'm thinking !
Ricardo Ruelas Ricardo is right. It evolves to every single band doing an 80s tribute album...
Finally someone who understands
Yess totally agree. Love the song
AMEN, the voice of reason... Goddamn haters are annoying. Evolution is not for everyone 😂
Finally some good stuff in trending, Oh God!!!
Fearless Conqueror this shit isn't rock
Paul do you know about synthrock?
Fearless Conqueror this song here definitely isnt rock.
Do you remember the launch of spacex's rocket? Falcon heavy, that launch are one of the beautiful thing's of the live, and sincerely it was more important for the entirely humanity
OH GOD stop looking at the trending list, and good things will happen to you.
Love the thriller like dance at the end, love this song
Greatest song ever written
This music video gives me neo 80s vibes mixed with Thriller
this was stuck in my head, i didnt know the name of the song, i went on youtube typed in "phantom of the opera riff in a rock song than goes whoa oh oh" and this showed up. lol
Hahahahahaha... This need more likes.
Gj I'm proud of u nvr give up
Yassss Phantom of the opera!!!!! Love that story and im so glad it led you here!!!
Hahaha i like that!
I typed that in youtube and about halfway in it cited your comment hahaha
The final dance crew gave that thriller style mob dance.
us: coming back to this bop for rudy pankow
muse: what the fuck is happening
No bother how this sounds... when they play LIVE, it's always awesome
maud mnotmad I knoooow ! I really didn't enjoy their last album but was blown away by their live !!! I've seen them 7 times and it is always amazing.
I wasn't expecting this but I was already expecting that it would be something I wasn't expecting
[Verse 1]
Strung out falling from the big time
Welcome to the infinite black skies
Brain cleansed fractured identity
Fragments and scattered debris
[Chorus]
Thought contagion
Thought contagion
[Verse 2]
Fall down learn when to count it out
Prop me up before I black out
Withdraw before you're out of time
A clean slate and buried war crimes
[Chorus]
You've been bitten by a true believer
You've been bitten by someone who's hungrier than you
You've been bitten by a true believer
You've been bitten by someone's false beliefs
Thought contagion
Thought contagion
[Verse 3]
They'll never do what you want them to
Give it up and watch them break through
It's too late for a revolution
Brace for the final solution
[Chorus]
Thought contagion
Thought contagion
[Chorus]
You've been bitten by a true believer
You've been bitten by someone who's hungrier than you
You've been bitten by a true believer
You've been bitten by someone's false beliefs
Oh-woah-oh-woah-oh-oh-oh
Thought contagion
Oh-woah-oh-woah-oh-oh-oh
Thought contagion
Oh-woah-oh-woah-oh-oh-oh
[Outro]
Strung out falling from the big time
Welcome to the infinite black skies
Oh-woah-oh-woah-oh-oh-oh
It's too late for a revolution
Brace for the final solution
Rudy Pankow + Muse = ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Its catchy as hell, but at the same time, its the kind of song you would listen to on repeat for a week and then get bored of it.
9 days in and I'm still not feeling any signs of boredom - fresh like spring cleaning :P
This band is so fucking awesome, I don't think they could make a bad song if they tried.
Messi
Save me*
But what about Dig Down and something human. And add Starlight except for the bassline.
WHEN IS THE NEW ALBUM OUT????
Did you not watch this video
I CANTBBELIEVE AFTER 5 YEARS I RECOGNIZE RUDY ????
Damn, cyberpunk's Halloween event looks great.
Came here straight after the ‘Pressure’ video - anyone else ??
Me too
Me too, pressure video has a better song backing it up though.
Don't get me wrong Thot Contagion is decent but I really loved pressure
A true believer
Thought contagion would be better without the millennial woah in the chorus.
Nice to have it confirmed that they’re gerbil zombie monsters.
The way these guys have evolved over the years is amazing, I personally love how they kind of reinvent themselves and don’t just churn out the same old stuff,
I wish that the quality of their music increased. Just like pink floyd, their albums were very different, but the quality of their music increased, except for their last album. That was bad.
Thank you for singing this song at Kuala Lumpur tour! I was so happy!!! ❤
this vibe needs to be a full ass movie. immaculate aesthetic.
If "Uprising" was a call to action, this is Matt's "Oh shit they didn't listen"... 😣
And he has begging for "set me free" for a long time... Poor Matt
So true!
this feels like a metaphor for the current state of the world
I know how he feels there 😂 no one ever listens in the end...
Its scary... the mob mentality
This is Rock and Roll Thriller.
Rudy in the obx 🤟🏼🤘🏼
Fuck off you thirsty bitch
This song has really grown on me over the years.
It's probably one of my favourite Muse song
Name one Muse album that sounds like any other Muse album before it. It's okay. I'll wait.
They are the definition of musical evolution, and we should all be grateful we exist in the same generation as them.
Ken Bringenberg Showbiz to Origin have the same sound, albeit a slight tweaking.
Showbiz to Absolution was simliar too
Even Origin to Drones had similar things
This is just god dam awful
ddebling Origin to Drones is like comparing Planets light years away
showbiz and origin of symmetry. not hard
glad I'm not the only one here for Rudy
Go back to your face now go shoo shoo
Did i just come here after an instagram live telling me Rudy was in this music video? yes of course. do i genuinely like this song. i suppose i do now.
lmao Matt just pulled up, got out his car, touched his glasses, got back in the car and left? 😂😂
ikr but same lmao
Harry Melrose if you look closely they only put hair on the hand he was touching the door and his glasses with
It’s Matt lol what else do you want him to do?
Shake that booty like in Panic Station >.
First Listen: This is...interesting...
Second Listen: Alright...pretty groovy
Third Listen: THOUGHT CONTAAAAGIIOOOOONNN!
Listen carefully. He not saying thought contagion.
the reference to Michael Jackson's Thriller music video is just amazing
I used to be one of those people who complain about how muse didn't sound the same like their 1st three albums. but then i stumble upon this comment saying 'I just hope muse can still make songs as long as they could'. like wow that makes me kinda sad and also hopeful.. sometimes we forget the longevity of a band that we took for granted. muse has been together for more than 20 years. isn't that great? like chris martin once said, if you miss our old songs, go listen to that album, it's there 😂
I heard this song on massive speakers in a hall this morning , it filled the room. Absolute beast & a solid Muse song if you ask me .
not bad:) Like that guitar and bass line
MarxZOism dude the guitar using whammy pedals..
More electronic but always keeping the good guitar and bass lines!
MarxZOism are you deaf?
+ that piano part 😍
As a bass player im not expecting to enjoy playing this. Its pretty much jus rolling up and down. Compared to something like any b side this will be boring.
rudy pankow 😍😍
I cannot be the only one getting Cyberpunk Thriller vibes from this. It's wonderful.
nah I got more Hotline Miami vibes but I guess it's mostly about the colors and visual ambiance + of course MJ's Thriller clip when they all dance
