For those of you which don't know, the story in this video is an actual real event that happened in the 90's when the band was newly formed and was named Rocket Baby Dolls. They actually played that day at a band conquest. And won the "local battle of the bands".

We had a blast making this video. Hats off to the cast , crew, Terry Crews, and Muse, who are all great down to earth people. As for me, I’m a Saxophonist but was casted as the trumpet player for this video. Great to see so many people enjoying it!!!

"Don't push me" line made a lot of sense when I was about to see them live and crowd went crazy
or maybe he was talking about how he wanted to free himself from the mkultra program. It was, by the way, the title of one of his song.
Here's the thing, Matt's been writing some really hard, complex and dark songs for the last 18 years, he went through some hard times in the last years but now he clearly is happy as hell, he's in a stable relationship and all, is only natural he wants to go back to his 20's and do what he never did, so after all those great albums he gave to us the past he totally deserves to make this turn. I think each album represents a stage of his life and Im glad he's finally happy.
You might be right, but unfortunately, the greatest and deepest musical works don't come from happy artists.

Muse died after "the resistance" it was te end. there was some good songs like "animals" and "handler" but it in the past, so... R.I.P. MUSE. Farewell. I'm glad that Matt met his love, no depression, no stress, but it's no good for his creativity. But I excepted it.
Well technically Muse died after Absolution.
Then they were reborn and redied after The Resistance
Then they were reborn in T2L and it's this third version that still lives today...

saw then play in Chicago 2019 and this gives me goosebumps because the energy I got from that concert is still with me today. AMAZING BAND you can tell they LOVE what they do and they pass it on to the fans.

Have you been paying attention? All of these music videos are connected to each other.
The first few seconds of this video shows Matt putting on a VR headset, the very same one he was taking off at the beginning of Something Human. The monsters in this video are very similar to the ones in Thought Contagion and the monster matt turned into in Something Human. These monsters were also being hunted by the government at the end of this video and by Dom and Chris in Something Human. At the beginning of Dig Down, there was a small tv screen advertising a virtual paradise, saying the “human body is now obsolete” and there were people running by with VR headsets on. That’s why there are some things that look kind of glitichy in all of these recent videos, especially Dark Side.
This is all just a Simulation Theory
Maybe Matt went back to save the people from the school but then he got bitten, that's why he's a werewolf in Something Human... Because he altered the past Dom and Chris are now his enemies :((( I hope this is true tbh

Its all connected through the idea of Simulation Theory, each video is a simulation, Dig down takes place in a videogame, this and Thought Contagion are in VR. I dont know about Something Human and The darkside though.

My sister and I were/are huge Muse fans. My sister passed away Dec 2nd, 2017. I have been watching all of these music videos and thinking that I have no one to share this awesome experience with. Edit: some more facts: Dig Down was being played at the beginning of Thought Contagion and obviously The Dark Side was a continuation of Something Human... but there are some gaps So I'm sure there will be more explanations... But that's just a theory... A Simulation Theory.

Muse is actually producing a video for every track on the album, which means they will be putting together a Movie, kinda like “Pink Floyd’s: The Wall” Where it’s all their music videos, start to finish telling a grand story.

I love that part 'cause you can see how borred people look and that was maybe the way people reacted at them at first when they were rocket baby dolls. But after they start playing they get caught by the awesome tune.
Actually no one can't doubt about the fact that Matt, Dom and Chris (don't forget Tom) are hometown heroes. Taked out of the nothing and now they are one of the greatest shows in the world and an amazing band through all these years. They just followed their dream although the lack of support they had in their begginin and absolutely worth it. Now we can enjoy the amazing music of this incredible band called Muse.
The new album doesn't really hit me but I love their new attitude. Everything is connected here and everything is possible, just like in a Simulation Theory. Also, they're not taking things as seriously as before, instead every video is like an homage on something out of the 80s/90s, with a lot of trash an over the top scifi-stuff while having a clever message in every song and video as well, linking up all this craziness.
I think we can all agree that those guys are genius when it comes to reinventing themselves. Even after so many years in showbiz they come up with new stuff.

s27 schll That's something that I appreciate a lot of them, so many styles in just one album. Being experimental does not always work on them (That happened in 'Something Human') but i will more than happy if Simulation Theory have that sprout of inspiration that The 2nd Law had.

In my opinion the best band out there that still exists! They don't keep doing the same thing over and over. They go trough different styles and are open for new things. Every new Muse album brings us "common" Muse material but also very new things. I like that. You never know what happens next! :) Thank you Muse for having you here!

Going through different styles is a plus only if done correctly. You know, like Radiohead or Sigur Rós. Muse suck and have been sucking for the last 10 years.
They are the best band out there..in my opinion also . I love hearing songs and having them released and just that moment..in most muse songs... that just gets you smiling . just makes your lips rise because you love them and there are moments in their songs that just ..make you simply smile, happy and love being alive to hear their music..

I was so sad when they came to Iceland and they ran out of tickets before i got a chance (was working at time of ticket sales) I really believe they are in the top 20 greatest bands of all time.

If you order the five new muse music songs in event chronological order it tells the story of someone’s descent into depression and suicidal thoughts.
#1 Pressure: this music video reveals the origin of the zombies (possibly representing negative thoughts) which leads on to thought contagion. Underneath it represents this person, having to cope with the pressures of everyday life, gradually this pressure is building up and turning into long term stress: a common trigger for depression in a lot of people.
#2 Thought contagion, takes place after the events of pressure, this person is developing suicidal thoughts perhaps inspired by other people online or around him/her. These ideas spread rapidly and have a hold on our mentality.
#3 Something Human obvious follows on from thought contagion as it depicts Matt in his car. This person is desperately fighting back his mental angst, “I need something human” and “I need your love” is this person determining what he needs to make himself feel better about him/herself. However they are fighting a losing battle because in the end, Matt turning into the werewolf may symbolise this person becoming consumed by negative and damaging thoughts.
#4 The Dark Side, Matt still driving along in his car. This person has finally accepted the way they are and their thoughts are becoming increasingly extreme and suicidal. They are no longer living their life. They feel trapped and without hope as enforced by the lines “break me out” and “set me free”. This is the nadir of this persons emotions.
#5 Finally the events of Dig Down occur in the far future in a dystopian world representing this persons ravaged and exhausted mind. The whole ethos of the song is an optimist one. This character is attempting to make amends and once again fight back against their mental illness to “dig down and find faith” “when all hope has been lost”. From then on the story has not been revealed.
These music videos may look like shallow 5 minute long action scenes but there’s always something between the lines.
