Thank you Tim! I requested this tutorial a few months back. It is so nice of you generously sharing this wonderful tutorial!!
I’m going to take some time to recover from this one before trying anything else! 😂
You did it!! Yes Tim, this is the one I've been waiting for!!
You are probably not the only one, Rasmus! It's great to see so many people rushing to get to work with this lesson. Now let's try and get that "one-take" cover on video too 😅
@@TimVanRoy haha I was wondering why you hadn't put the video up yet 😅
Many many thanks Tim! I saw Tommy's Sheraton hotel version of Guitar Boogie, and have always wondering who could take it for lesson videos - you did! Thanks so much! I will send this video link to my guitar friends. This is an amazing lesson, and I like your explanation^^
3:46 thank you for the heads up about the gentle picking, Tim!
It is THE key to making this work 😜
@@TimVanRoy boogie version on channel BeautifulGuitarMusic is top notch , beyond competition , he still did not come close to it with other versions, its so sad you did not choose it for the lesson
Oh Cool thanks for the Video 😎 TCB 😎 you do a very good Job 😎 TCB 😎
Thanks!
You are too kind! Thank you!
Hi Tim! Great point about listening to the cleanest version of a tune for study. Tommy certainly is a master of using the sound system in his guitar to maximum effect. But another problem with studying live video is that the hall itself where the video was recorded can also have its own reverb, which can further muffle or distort things. Great tips as always!
Indeed Brett! The live versions are really helpful, but they can also lead to wrong conclusions and/or assumptions. Thankfully, you can find properly recorded versions of almost any tune on RUclips these days. It makes my work a little easier 😜
@@TimVanRoy Exactly haha very true!
Key E sounds the best in my opinion.... hearing it since the 70s....The Shadows etc.
This is a project for retirement age, when you have unlimited time 🤣
Great lesson! Thank you, Tim. Have you ever wonder about play the whole part once before explain the each note? I think It would be helpfull
Hi Bruno! I always do the full cover video separately because of copyright reasons. In the lesson itself I do always play the full section before explaining it (one time before the explanation and one time after, usually slower).
@@TimVanRoy Sure! Now I understand. Thank you for everything.
Very difficult to learn Finger Picking Style after 40 years....too tough...😢😢😢
Excellent, cheers from Canada....R U in Key E, not sure if u mentioned it?
Yes, key of E!
Tim, hi! Thank you for your wonderful work. Thanks to you, I was able to love Tommy's songs even more and learn them. Today, Tommy's songs were played at a party and my friends liked this music! I want to ask you. Do you have a desire to play Tommy's Happy Hours song in the future? 🙂
I think that one has been requested a few times and it is on the list for the future, but I can’t give you any set timeframe just yet.
@@TimVanRoy Thank you. Good job!
Have a tabs in patreon? Or just video
Hi Tim, I just discovered your channel and your content looks very promising… I’ve been having a battle with the tune ‘Thanks Chet’ by Robbie McIntosh for years. I wonder if I throw it out there as a suggestion it may make it into a video lesson one day ☺️
Hi James! Excellent suggestion! I wasn't familiar with the tune, and didn't even know Robbie McIntosh had a "Chet" side to his playing. Looked up a few versions of the tune, and it's guaranteed for the future! Doesn't seem nearly as difficult as most of the TE stuff either!
@@TimVanRoy Wonderful news, I'm glad you liked the tune :)
ruclips.net/video/MZlU_nN8BrA/видео.html Here is another reference video that may have flown under the radar as it’s not listed with the tune name.
What brand string you?good sound..
Hi, I always use Elixir 12-53. Thanks for your comment!
My favorite version didn't make the list 😢

I'm sure quite a few of those licks did end up in the lesson! I still have to do one his single note solos so it's still possible I end up with this one!
Hola, con mucho respeto, hablas demasiado para una introduccion. Por favor mas accion y menos charla. Gracias por la leccion, me encanto.
