Taylor and Emmanuel absolutely totally different styles of playing, and that represents their background of coming into guitar playing. Taylor a superb jazz guitar player, fantastic, Emmanuel a superb guitarist without genre limitations. One thing to note about Emmanuel is that he seems to bring out the best playing of all those he teams with, like they try extra hard, because Tommy inspires.

Think it goes both ways. Tommy is aware of his skills and limitations and seems to admire those who acquired their skills that equal and surpass his in certain genres. Ego does not get in his way much; he’s about the music. That’s evident.
One of the best things to watch is two outstanding artists play together... the musical effect doesn't just add up, it multiplies. Just wow.

Seen these two guys last night in the Ulster Hall Belfast,these guys are seriously good, I had to nip myself "this is not a dream" I'm listening to 2 of the finest guitarists who ever walked the face of this earth.
They both got a standing ovation, we felt blessed that we were the FIRST show on the tour. If you appreciate great acoustic playing DON'T MISS THESE GUYS!
I love the way they say 'yeah' or 'hehee' when they agree with a musical statement the other guy's made. They are on the same wavelength so totally it is like telepathy.
If you don't know martin taylor you are not into (jazz) guitar: he is one of the greatest !

Tommy is a real artist just like Martin. I like the improvisation from Tommy with such a great feeling, He hits the right note's that gives me a great feeling of happiness and sometime sadness! He is also a great human with a great taste of humor. They both great peoples and also guitarists!!
this is not about who is the best . it's about two wonderful musicians making beautiful music together ! they both just have different styles. it don't get much prettier than this !

This is some of the best music I have ever heard, and I have never heard Martin Taylor before!
Probably because he's not in your normal comfort zone. He's one of the most accomplished players in the jazz world
He is in my comfort zone, I like jazz and can see the influnce in his playing. So many great guitarists out there we don't get to see on a big pubic stage.

He seems pretty shit hot technically, I have watched a few more vids of him now.
Dont know what ur taste is, but Martin Taylor is a must to listen to many of his works. He plays bassline, chord and melody live. Does commercial things like Renault Clio and teaches. "Spirit of Django" is well worth a listen as is his work with Stefan Grapelli. If u see him live u can get a chat with him
I saw him in arkansas a while back, he was astounding, got to meet him after the show, also anthony snipe, both very humble and great men :) he told me the words i will never forget for as long as i live, "When i play guitar, i don't like when people say ' im goin to burn my guitar now' but i want to inspire people to play music like this for future generations! don't ever stop playing!"
They get emotional when they play together, so much love and taste with these players…
Is there anything more relaxing in the wide world of music than these guys having fun with the most wonderful instrument?

Martin Taylor was born way before Taylor guitars were a thing. But Martin and Taylor guitars should be proud of this guitar phenom. Tommy is also great. They listen to each other so well. A nice conversation between two masters!
I caught you guys the other night in Aberdeen, when you play together you're not rock guitarists, jazz musicians or horn players, you're just guitarists! I know people have to put you in a box but you're better off outside the box! The show was the best display of musicianship I've ever seen & I'm still in total awe of your personal & combined talents.
Stunning, total empathy between them, differing styles yet they ooze class...and compliment each other.
I remember hearing Martin for the first time i was 15 and my grandad taped me a thing on the radio featuring guitar players from many styles hosted by Burton Weedon Martin was the "jazz" guy he played "just squeeze me" and immediately I fell in love with his playing and I've bought everything he ever done since. Loved looking around virgin megastore's jazz section as a teen and buying all your linn records Martin you continue to inspire me.
I tear up every time i revisit this video.

I came here not knowing who Martin Taylor was. and I'm leaving a MAJOR fan. He's so smooth with his playing it's almost surreal. Tommy ofcourse is world class. I'm just refreshed finding such a fantastic player playing with one of my favorites.

How fortunate I am! I have seen both of these giants in person. Martin in Green Valley, AZ and Tommy (Tony Enamel) in Hutchinson, KS. I would walk through fire to see them both again! I never get enough of either of them. It is hard to believe that one person could have as much talent as each of them has. Thanks for the video!

I saw them last week in Basingstoke - that's England! and this was a high point...of a show with nothing but high points, I might add! Truly unforgettable.

How did we get so lucky to live in an era of such great musicians and youtube? When I started we only had records. I even tried to learn a couple Chet Atkins tunes off records.
Folks like them are the reason why I love guitar so much, even though my playing would not be considered guitar playing at all after listening to these masters.
My mouth is wide open with tears rollin in.
Music is fresh and has a natural feel, I like very much.
This put the biggest smile on my face. God bless the power of music. Obviously an enormous amount of work for this to be possible all the credit in the world to them
I first saw Martin playing with Stephane Grappelli on TV many years ago and thought he had about the nicest jazz tone and technique I had ever heard. Still does.
