I stumbled onto his music many years ago, I was trying to escape infomercials on late night TV and suddenly there he is, giving a concert on public television. I feel his guitar sound as "4D" orchestral, the notes seem to come from all directions as if their are four guitarists, on stage, not just one. In Spain I found similarities in Flamenco guitar when I'd hear performers play it in the streets. His music in its own, and shines just as a harp from heaven.
You are amazing Tommy. I remember you played at my church in Taree back in the 90's when I was a kid and you are just as good today. You are a such a good person too. All the best
I saw him in Portland Maine at the State Theatre. My dear wife bought the tickets even though she had wanted to see the Blind Boys of Alabama. AWESOME BlueGrass / Green Green Grass Of Home. Thank You Sir Tommy Emmanuel for Uniting the world with Your Artistry which resides with the Rhythm of your Heart and a Humble mindset. God Bless You!!!!....
The 1st time I seen Tommy Emmanuel was in a college auditorium in a small Texas town mid 90's. Aside from those of us in the music industry that followed the latest trends, Tommy Emmanuel was relatively an unknown here in the United States, but boy he sure did not disappoint 👏 for those of us that happened to show up to his shows!! Can you imagen being able to see Tommy Emmanuel up close and personal back in the 90s he is such a humble man & doesn't let his fame get to his head even to this day!
I was fortunate enough to hang with Tommy and Phil during a week (nights) long gig they had at the Kirra Hotel on the Gold Coast in oz, in 1985... I know what you mean. Those guys are also the funniest people I ever met
You know those four levels of competence; unconscious incompetence, conscious incompetence, conscious competence and the final level of unconscious competence, I think TE has achieved that fourth level.
You can watch all the you tube videos you want but until you see him in person you won’t grasp how awesome this man is with his guitar. Not the full extent of it If you get a chance go see him he will blow your mind. Thank you Tommy
YES! and plucking out the notes of the vocal melody whilst playing the bass part, lead guitar, rhythm guitar and snare drum parts. TE is amazingly talented!
He learned to play when he was so young that he assumed multi instrument recordings were one guitar hence the bass, rhythm and lead all at once. He is the best.
OMG, been listening nonstop to this. I feel 'transported' and lifted at every single moments. What a performance and what a blessing. Billions thanks and love to Tommy and to all the lovely people out there.
Thanks to Tommy for sharing his brother Phil with us . The best electric guitar I’ve ever heard. One of the best musical talents of my lifetime. What a loss to the world.
Incredible music. Incredible dynamic. Incredible playing. Incredible stage presence. Incredible chemistry. Incredible art. Incredible sound. Incredible vibrations. Incredible spirit. Incredible energy. Incredible connection. Incredibly heartfelt. Incredibly generous. Incredibly human. Tommy E is for 'enigma' - we don't have to understand it - just be thankful and grateful we can experience it. Listening to and watching Tommy is pure joy and inspiration. Him being himself really shows the potential that we have in all of us to become our best selves. Thankyou and best wishes Tommy!! 🙏
I have had the pleasure of seeing Tommy twice in Dallas and to say he enjoys his craft is an understatement. He plays his guitar with his heart and soul and, if you watched this in its entirety, you witnessed it. Close your eyes and when he plays Somewhere over the rainbow it literally sounds like he is playing a harp. He is the BEST.
I heard him, in an interview, say that he doesn't read music, or really write it out. The fact that he composes in his head, builds it into muscle memory, and remembers this vast library of his own songs and the work of others is absolutely amazing!
We saw and listened with my wife , it was an amazing moment , and shared with our friends . Tanks and salutations from Alpes in France . You are great 👍🏼♥️
How good is this man? Honestly, I’ve never been inspired by someone so much in my life. I’m not just on about from a musician’s point of view, either. What a legend!
You know there’s the story of an interview with Eddie Van Halen several years ago, maybe 10+ years ago, where he was asked how he felt about being labeled one of the greatest guitar players alive, and who else he thought was the greatest. Supposedly he responded, “I don’t know but if Tommy Emanuel is still alive there’s no question.”
I have been a fan of guitar and guitar players for many years. I "found" Tommy on you tube about 2 years ago was fortunate to take my son to a live show since and have introduced him to many as "The best guitar player you never heard of".
2 - 3 - 4 melody lines being played simultaneously , ALL the while keeping perfect rhythm and timing - MOST DEFINATELY A MASTER GUITAR PERFORMER ❤️❤️😊😊😊😊✌️✌️
God is so good! God is with us; His Name is really Emmanuel, the greatest guitarist and entertainer of all times! Wow wow. I am so happy and blessed listening to him . Thank and praise Lord Jesus Christ ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I echo the many, many positive accolades that Tommy has received. I "found" him about 3 years ago - fortunate to see him live in NJ with my son shortly after finding him. I have watched 100+ Tommy youtube videos - I have to say while I have favorite renditions of certain songs that are elsewhere - this is quickly becoming my favorite complete show - he is so "on" - feeding off the crowd, playing a couple of songs I wasn't familiar with prior, segment with Billy Strings is awesome.......THANK YOU TOMMY! For sharing in so many ways so generously!

In my opinion, he is the finest pure guitarist there is...love to watch him...
Dear Tommy, thank you very much......
Saw Tommy a few years ago and his playing mesmerized the audience. So versatile and NEVER boring.
Tommy's such a humble man. If I could play like him whenever I flew I'd need one ticket for me and one for my ego.
I saw him in Portland Maine at the State Theatre. My dear wife bought the tickets even though she had wanted to see the Blind Boys of Alabama. What a truly fine and inspirational gift .Now it's my turn to get tickets for her as soon as the Boys are near us again. Thank You my wonderful Rebecca...I will never forget what a show that was. Unforgettable !
I am Almost 84yrs of age and am so lucky to be alive today to hear Tommy perform at Grey Fox Bob Burtch.Thank you Lord for Tommy and my ability to listen and love his music.
As good as he is, and he is fantastic, there is so much more inside trying to get out. Truly a guitar genius
Lightning strike behind tommy at 50:39 , what a shot!
I never grow tired of watching this great man play. Wonderful!
If this is not amazing, what else can be?! Simply beautiful
An incredible performance. Tommy makes the incredibly difficult look so easy. This is how the guitar was meant to be played.
The Capo throw off is awesome, completely unique. Always a pleasure listening to you Tommy.
44:54 We all should be grateful for moments like this.
I used to live on the farm for 15 years, and when I hear this genius upbeat music, I can just imagine and clearly see the roosters and chickens, the pigs are swinging and dancing on the front and backyards...
Tommy Emmanuel no matter how long it takes him to play, he keeps smiling
Give him the saddest music, and he will turn it into happiness and joy 💗
My lord he is so good.
Thank you Tommy. You inspire me to pick up my guitar every time I hear you play.
I LOVE TOMMY EMANUEL! HE IS THEE BEST ALWAYS!!🎄💜❤🎄💜🎄❤🎄💜🤩😍🤩😍👍👍👍
Don’t get much better than Tommy.
It's like he doesn't even really have to *try* to play. He's just immersed in how it's supposed to sound, and somehow it all happens.
It may seem like that, but that's only because the many tens of thousands of hours of practice are not visible.
Don't think I've ever heard Tommy sing! He's great!
Tommy is one of those miracles that only come along every 100 years
Amazing. Sounds like he's looping "Day Tripper" Nope. Just him playing rhythm and lead at the same time!
YES! and plucking out the notes of the vocal melody whilst playing the bass part, lead guitar, rhythm guitar and snare drum parts. TE is amazingly talented!
He learned to play when he was so young that he assumed multi instrument recordings were one guitar hence the bass, rhythm and lead all at once.
He is the best.
Tommy is a living smile. At the end, the celestial interpretation of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."
A true virtuoso like Al Hirt, Bennie Goodman, Ella Fitsgerald, Buddy Rich.
Another pure gold live performance from Tommy!
Incredible music. Incredible dynamic. Incredible playing. Incredible stage presence. Incredible chemistry. Incredible art. Incredible sound. Incredible vibrations. Incredible spirit. Incredible energy. Incredible connection. Incredibly heartfelt. Incredibly generous. Incredibly human. Tommy E is for 'enigma' - we don't have to understand it - just be thankful and grateful we can experience it. Listening to and watching Tommy is pure joy and inspiration. Him being himself really shows the potential that we have in all of us to become our best selves. Thankyou and best wishes Tommy!! 🙏
My god...MotherF..is 100 years old and still on fire!!
What a Christmas present!!
Man He’s Soo Cool !!!!!
I heard him, in an interview, say that he doesn't read music, or really write it out. The fact that he composes in his head, builds it into muscle memory, and remembers this vast library of his own songs and the work of others is absolutely amazing!
Best Aussie that ever lived.
Tommy is a source of light and goodness as well as being a superlative guitar player.
Not many people can take a sad song and make it sound happy and have you smiling anyway.
He always floors me. So brilliant and melodic. Heavenly.
Thank you, Tommy Emmanuel!❤😅
Tommy Emmanuel is in a league of his own. Brilliant playing, he always seems to be loving what he does.
We saw and listened with my wife , it was an amazing moment , and shared with our friends . Tanks and salutations from Alpes in France . You are great 👍🏼♥️
This guy is just jamming out. Doesn’t matter the location just the music
I love to play the guitar and sing...
to watch him play so effortlessly is very impressive and entertaining 😊💕
Please tell me you have the link for this interview on youtube or on the website 🙏🙏🙏
After having watched this, just want to throw my guitar in the nearest river by….
Wonderful entertainer as well!!
🥳🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TE!!! Apropos venue for a grey fox! TY for spreading joy and raising frequencies around the world! 🌎🫶🌍🫶🌏
The first time I saw Tommy in California I looked at him and said,
“You are real”
What an idiotic thing to say…lol
I was star struck!
