I stumbled onto his music many years ago, I was trying to escape infomercials on late night TV and suddenly there he is, giving a concert on public television. I feel his guitar sound as "4D" orchestral, the notes seem to come from all directions as if their are four guitarists, on stage, not just one. In Spain I found similarities in Flamenco guitar when I'd hear performers play it in the streets. His music in its own, and shines just as a harp from heaven.

Chuck Norris could not play that - either. Incredible ... no one does what Tommy does ... Made my day - again! Respect - and a merry Christmas to you Sir - from Denmark.
That's one of the many unique things about music. For a true musician/songwriter/performer, u aren't "playing to," you are "sharing with." Even if you're alone, you're sharing....with yourself, a pet, the ether itself, creating sound waves that will travel through the universe...forever. Tommy Emanuel's joy comes standard with every note he plays. And also, in his humor and humility, there is gratitude. It comes from feeling what every true musician feels, whether or not we communicate it through our music. We are able to adorn the silence, soothe, give therapy, if nothing else, create a memory or just create a smile. It is absolutely true that it is, and therefore, feels, better to give than to receive. Sharing...giving is what musicians do. And if we do it right, really, really right, we can light up the darkness, dispell hate, and yeah, one day, maybe, we can change the world....(pause to un-cringe after that cliche'...) Tommy Emanuel's joy tells me he is, not only a consummate musician, but a human being who, unlike some, hasn't forgotten that talent is a gift, and for gifts, one should be thankful. God love ya, Tommy. S.A.S.
What I love about TE more than his playing ability, his humbleness, is his ability to just have fun doing what he does. He absolutely loves it. It's so infectious.
It's not just his incredible guitar skills, it's also the way he moves his head and shoulders with that secret smile of his. What a lovely gentle and generous-hearted man! It must the most wonderful thing in the world to be able to give so many people so much pleasure and joy.
I heard him, in an interview, say that he doesn't read music, or really write it out. The fact that he composes in his head, builds it into muscle memory, and remembers this vast library of his own songs and the work of others is absolutely amazing!
Thanks to Tommy for sharing his brother Phil with us . The best electric guitar I’ve ever heard. One of the best musical talents of my lifetime. What a loss to the world.

My god...MotherF..is 100 years old and still on fire!!
Tommy taught me how to thumb pick.
On youtube, but it still counts.
And if we do it right, really, really right, we can light up the darkness, dispell hate, and yeah, one day, maybe, we can change the world....(pause to un-cringe after that cliche'...)
Tommy Emanuel's joy tells me he is, not only a consummate musician, but a human being who, unlike some, hasn't forgotten that talent is a gift, and for gifts, one should be thankful.
God love ya, Tommy.
S.A.S.
I am really thankful to you:
I study in 'what is an artist', and all what you mention here is fully true.
They are so much needed in our society.
You must definitely be a poet,those words!!!!😉😇🙃
Tommy Emmanuel no matter how long it takes him to play, he keeps smiling
Give him the saddest music, and he will turn it into happiness and joy 💗
As good as he is, and he is fantastic, there is so much more inside trying to get out. Truly a guitar genius
In my opinion, he is the finest pure guitarist there is...love to watch him...
What I love about TE more than his playing ability, his humbleness, is his ability to just have fun doing what he does. He absolutely loves it. It's so infectious.
I love that about him too... You can't help but feel so happy watching him because he is having such a great time himself 💜
It's not just his incredible guitar skills, it's also the way he moves his head and shoulders with that secret smile of his. What a lovely gentle and generous-hearted man! It must the most wonderful thing in the world to be able to give so many people so much pleasure and joy.
@@janewheeler9429 Absolutely agree. He's one of a kind for sure.
@@coryCuc He IS one of Dakine! 😁
Watching Tommy play is almost an addiction..
Великий чекловек, великий музыкант! Спасибо за всё!!! Огромное, человеческое спасибо!
Don't think I've ever heard Tommy sing! He's great!
What a Christmas present!!
I heard him, in an interview, say that he doesn't read music, or really write it out. The fact that he composes in his head, builds it into muscle memory, and remembers this vast library of his own songs and the work of others is absolutely amazing!
I think Tommy was born with a guitar attached to his body. It's just part of who he is - a true master of the instrument.
🥳🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TE!!! Apropos venue for a grey fox! TY for spreading joy and raising frequencies around the world! 🌎🫶🌍🫶🌏
If this is not amazing, what else can be?! Simply beautiful
Another pure gold live performance from Tommy!
Thanks to Tommy for sharing his brother Phil with us . The best electric guitar I’ve ever heard. One of the best musical talents of my lifetime. What a loss to the world.
A true virtuoso like Al Hirt, Bennie Goodman, Ella Fitsgerald, Buddy Rich.
Best Aussie that ever lived.
Thank you Tommy. You inspire me to pick up my guitar every time I hear you play.
My lord he is so good.
We saw and listened with my wife , it was an amazing moment , and shared with our friends . Tanks and salutations from Alpes in France . You are great 👍🏼♥️
Saw Tommy a few years ago and his playing mesmerized the audience. So versatile and NEVER boring.
Lightning strike behind tommy at 50:39 , what a shot!
I used to live on the farm for 15 years, and when I hear this genius upbeat music, I can just imagine and clearly see the roosters and chickens, the pigs are swinging and dancing on the front and backyards... AWESOME BlueGrass / Green Green Grass Of Home. Thank You Sir Tommy Emmanuel for Uniting the world with Your Artistry which resides with the Rhythm of your Heart and a Humble mindset. God Bless You!!!!....
I never grow tired of watching this great man play. Wonderful!
You are amazing Tommy. I remember you played at my church in Taree back in the 90's when I was a kid and you are just as good today. You are a such a good person too. All the best
Wow this guy is amazing, my new favorite guitarist. The joy he has playing guitare is contagious. Thank you.
One last thing, when Coved HIT us.. I knew there were a lot of depressed kids out there, so the first thing I did was pick up my guitar and broadcast myself live. I'm not the best guitar player in the world, but I know it had an impact... Parents, and there Children alike... I may have saved some lives there... "Love and Peace is not just a Hippy Thing... It's what we live for... Without it, what do we really have to live for?" Chad J. Luttrell
Amazing. Sounds like he's looping "Day Tripper" Nope. Just him playing rhythm and lead at the same time!
YES! and plucking out the notes of the vocal melody whilst playing the bass part, lead guitar, rhythm guitar and snare drum parts. TE is amazingly talented!
He learned to play when he was so young that he assumed multi instrument recordings were one guitar hence the bass, rhythm and lead all at once.
He is the best.
Tommy better have an apprentice under his wing. His genius needs to passed on to future generations.
An incredible performance. Tommy makes the incredibly difficult look so easy. This is how the guitar was meant to be played.
when I was 16, I loved how Tommy played, now I am 27, I still love how he play.
This man if far more than just one of the best guitar players ever
He always floors me. So brilliant and melodic. Heavenly.
Tommy is a living smile. At the end, the celestial interpretation of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."
I have had the pleasure of seeing Tommy twice in Dallas and to say he enjoys his craft is an understatement. He plays his guitar with his heart and soul and, if you watched this in its entirety, you witnessed it. Close your eyes and when he plays Somewhere over the rainbow it literally sounds like he is playing a harp. He is the BEST.
The Capo throw off is awesome, completely unique. Always a pleasure listening to you Tommy.
Happy Holidays!
Ohhhh!!!!De la musique!!merci d etre connecté,quel que soit votre style...
Wow, what playing. The over the rainbow was a great finisher. By doing that there is no encore, so masterful crowd control and respect for those that follow and other crew that need/want to get home. True professional.
Always when I hear Tommy play, my heart fills with joy...
44:54 We all should be grateful for moments like this.
