      the issue with this conversation is that its just a conversation.. everybody knows what the issue is, but no one seems to have the solution. we let things escalate to a point where conflict is inevitable and then try to find who is to blame for... happened with ISIS and Syria, then Ukraine and Russia, now Israel and Hamas. Next will be China who is poking everyone and if someone pushes back, they will be made the villain, they occupied HK and no one said a word... UN is one of the most useless organizations out there..

    • @besherhamad2462

      This is a perfect example of postmodernist morality. Acting as if the issue is too complex to understand, that there is no clear line between the victim and the murderer, as if both sides have a just cause. Add to that the Westernized view on ''outside conflicts'', as if the ''other'' live in a bubble of subjectivity and we can see things objectively, yet again, from an objective perspective, we still can't decide who is on the right. This shows that the West has lost its moral compass and the moral high ground that it stands on when ''teaching'' the world what is right and what is wrong. If you use your brain for 5 minutes you will see that the Jewish issue is created in the West, that anti-zionism does not equal anti-semitism, and that Israel is a state of evil that is built on a history full of massacres, racism, apartheid, displacement, and war crimes.

    As an Israeli I thank you for this video from the bottom of my heart. I’ve been looking for anything remotely objective and could only find propaganda of either side. I’ve spent my life protesting the government I even got arrested for fighting for Palestinian rights but I did feel betrayed by the global “left” who seemed to be going so far left it was already becoming Palestinian “right” or nationalism. My vision for peace is exactly what you guys did. That everyone needs to acknowledge how fucked up everything is and how true both narratives actually are . My moms grandfathers grandfather was murdered by Arabs in 1888 that’s pre-Zionism. I still believe now more than ever in peace. I hope that Palestine will be free- but they have to redefine what Palestine is cuz it can’t abolish Israel. Never gonna happen . I hope one day there will be no countries like Lennon envisioned… Perhaps consider making a similar “both narratives” about the history from 1850s to 1948. Again… it was fucked up in many ways and both narratives are true. I hope that if many people actually educate themselves on both narratives and a balanced view then the next generation can make peace.

My family comes from lots of different places, I see antisemitism go unnoticed, and my jewish culture separates me from the average Brit. Now, I feel like even more of a stranger in my own country. People in my own city are calling for my death and the deaths of my people. On top of that, people who are supposed to be smart call for our deaths, too. At this point, I want to move to Israel because at least there I belong even if it isn't the safest place in the world. I want peace with the Palestinians, but I also want a safe place to run to where I belong. I want to go back to my homeland, which is historically Jewish. But if I am being honest, I want peace with them, but I feel like they hate us too much. They will also not be free from Hammas for a long time, and until they are, there can not be peace.

    This is a great conversation, much much needed empathy which is greatly appreciated.
    Speaking personally, I had no opinions or feelings on this conflict until October 7th, and since then, I have done a tiny bit research on it, and while I still don't take one side over the other unilaterally because it's important to never forgo my right to change my mind given new evidence, information, or perspectives, I must say in response to your final statement that you called for a ceasefire that I was in full agreement with you until I found out less than a week ago that they were in a ceasefire since June or July of this year until October 7th.

      a ceasefire would stop the killings of innocent Palestinians. More than 20,000 are already dead. What more can you possibly want? Israel is not just attacking Gaza, it's also bombing Lebanon and Syria. There is no peace without freedom. Why could Israel limit Gaza's trade activities and ban items like chocolate and coriander is beyond me. Those 1000 lives were innocent but what about the 20,000 ones. were they not? they talked about an Israeli 8-year-old, what about the thousands of Palestinian children?

The reality is that both sides are engulfed in pain beyond comprehension right now, making a conversation extremely hard to be had. The time will come, it must, only way peace and progress can be achieved. Our lives are consumed with this conflict, and we want to see it end so badly. It'll take the brightest minds years to navigate through the complexities to achieve some sort of resolution that will favor Palestinians and Israelis.

Although you might not be part of the conflict, you definitely have on an impact on the conversation that broils and the hate it incites. Not choosing a side, is choosing pro Genocide. This isn’t about Hamas this is about the disgusting humanitarian crisis and apartheid state that’s been going on for 20 years or so

      Genocide.. yes.. like the thousands of years Muslims have killed or removed completely Jewish people from all of the Muslim countries. The fact that it's in their charter to wipe out all Jews... yes.. genocide in deed. Hamas is just using this land issue as an excuse. @@Goyaboyayoga

    Thank you for the balanced approach. While neither the oppression or terrorism is justified - I think it’s important to mention how many peace resolutions were offered by one side and rejected by the other without ever offering anything other than destruction. That doesnt mean it shouldn’t be offered again but who knows

    • @hop208
      @hop208 6 месяцев назад

      While true that resolutions were rejected, I doubt Palestinians at the time could have imagined they’d be in a position to be completely at the mercy of the terms written by Israel, while being governed by corrupt ineffectual leaders or extremists who only view you as collateral damage and good suffering optics for the cameras. The current government of Israel is full of far right hardliners that seem more than willing to oblige Hamas in sacrificing the civilian population “for the cause“. Also, Netanyahu purposely derailed peace negotiations in the 90’s and whipped people into a frenzy which led to the assassination of the then Prime Minister of Israel Yitzhak Rabin. The whole situation is awful while regular Palestinian and Israeli civilians pay the price.

      Those peace resolutions weren't offered in good faith though if you look at them objectively.
