You should take it as a huge compliment when a cat approaches you to take care of them. The fact that she trusted you enough to come in your house while she's pregnant is huge. I had my last cat the same way, she was the sweetest cat & I kept one of her kittens so she wouldn't be alone while I was at work. I had them for 15 years. I miss them.
So true stray cats do choose you. It happen to us. A feral cat crying on our gate skinny female .We took her in she was so anger from all how she was treated by others when looking for food. We had her for 3 yrs now She turned out loving and sweet.Took her long time to trust humans.
They can pick up on our emotions, can’t they? Cat probably watched her for a while and did not see Lady in states of anger or roughness. Maybe saw her moving slowly and predictably. Relaxed. Maybe watched her interact with a human or her environment in a gentle way. All these things make Cat feel safe. Thus cat “picks” human. (Just as they pick each other and their fave hangout spots.)
My first cat, Lucie, came to me around the middle of February, 2020. I opened the back door one morning, and there she was, just outside my double chain link gate. Now, I had been a dog person for over 60 years, and had no use for cats. But, I had been completely alone for over 20 years. So, I sat down on the steps and just spoke to her quietly. After 15 minutes, she came up to me and we’ve been together ever since. By the way, she was pregnant too but, having never had a cat, I didn’t know it until she woke me up one morning to show me what she had ‘found’. 😲😀🥰
Years ago, my mom - who is a dog person and never owned a cat in her entire life - acquired a stray cat that way. The difference is that her potential cat was standoffish and hissy. She had four babies under the shrubs in the front yard. Mom's friends all came over, and every kitten got a home. Mom kept the mother cat, who became a spoiled house cat, and called her Momma.
My mom also didn't really like cats and never let them be inside the house, we had 7 cats before at different times and now we own one black cat and he is our favorite, he now sleeps with my mom in the living room...
This is exactly what happened here when a Ferrell cat wanted a safe place to have her babies. She cried at our door and when I opened it she ran inside. We knew she was about to have babies so we gave her time to pick where she was most comfortable and then we laid blankets out and set her up to give birth. That same night we heard her shuffling around and we thought maybe she wanted to go outside! She was giving birth to her first kitten, omg we watched the whole birth and what a good momma she is. I didn’t know this was something they do sometimes, hearing your story that matched ours makes me more on the look out to help any stray that needs a safe place for birth

I am full on crying right now- this is how our old girl came into our lives. A friendly, pregnant stray who kept coming to our garden. She also had two kittens and the girl had her exact colours, just matte lol although the baby girl was eventually adopted out to a friend of mine, baby boy and mom cat were a part of our family for 14 and 15 years respectively. 100% the best part of my childhood and teen years was having those cats by my side.
Any cat that walks past your leg and rubs itself on you while curling that tail around your leg - that cat has *chosen* you. It's marking you with its scent and is asking for your help. Cute.
I had this just happened to me. I had been feeding her for about a month and just realized she's pregnant, and even though I got anxious at first, I didn't have the heart to not take her in. Because of my cat-chasing dog, she has a room to herself full with a balcony of her own, and I thinks she feels safe in there, and she trusts me. Last year I lost four of my dogs and the grief has been awful, but suddenly Mina (how I named her) comes along and adopts me and days seem brighter. I love her and her kittens already, even tho they're not born yet. Thank you for sharing your story, it's nice to see people like you helping them

And she’s gorgeous. Cats are so smart. Many years ago a similar same story happened to me. I was living in an apartment near a university. A gorgeous Siamese started visiting me. She was noticeably pregnant. I was worried about her and decided the next time I saw her I’d bring her into my apartment. She was so friendly and sweet. Not long afterward she had her babies under my bed. She trusted me when I moved them into a closet and a bed I made for her in there. Everything went well. I named her Jasmine and when I finally moved out I took her with me. Kittens got homes ❤️
This is how I found my husband. I was a stray, not pregnant though. I was living in NYC and he was in Philly. I assessed him on our first meeting and his home. Then I adopted him and packed my suite case. Been together every since
_When a cat chooses their human, the honor in knowing they’ve selected you is so righteous - the Egyptians knew they were majestic animals…. Nice job Mama Cat, you’ve chosen well!_ 💯💕
She took her time checking this home and people out, and took a gamble on trusting them. It's said that you don't really choose a cat, it chooses you. This cat made a good choice, and really trusts and loves these people.
My cat came to live with me 3 years ago. Ironically that was just to the time where my old cat was about to pass away, when he suddenly appeared in our garden. I think he sensed something, that I needed emotional support to deal with losing my cat who has been with me throughout my whole life. And he too looked for a home to stay. So we adopted eachother. He's extremely clingy, seeks for my company the whole time and won't let me be alone at all. We have such a close bond that he even comes when I call his name, whenever he is outside somewhere doing his cat business. I love him a lot and I wish every person in this world to experience what it feels like to be the chosen one. It's a true friendship. Have a great day yall :)
Keep her, she trusted and chose you. I was choosen by a pregnant cat as well on a rainy cold day. She gave birth to three beautiful kittens and all of them have great homes now. I got her spayed and now she stays with me and as I am writing this comment she is beside me, snuggling with me in the blanket. It's truly unreal how much she trusted me with.
If every single human realized her responsibility to the natural world, and the precious creatures that we share it with, what a different world it would be! God bless every single one of you to whom this feeling comes naturally. ❤💚
I'm a sucker for kittens. My two will be two years old in June but they'll always be my kittens not matter how old they get. They still act like kittens and each day I love them more. They're cats 4 and five and my first pair. I've had cats for 40 years. A home without a cat isn't.
I have had six cats over my life, two of them chose me. One of them lived for 27 good years and passed a couple of months ago. I'm too old now to take on another but I would if I could. Cats are wonderful pets.
@@everythingtaken19 No, all the others died at more usual ages. Colin the 27 year old was a black and white moggy(street cat) the next oldest which was 15 was another black and white moggy, the other cats were Persians with more selective breeding they died of old age between 12 and 15. It's all genetics.
Please consider adopting a senior pet! One whom would only have a few, precious years with you....as opposed to a kitten. Seniors need homes too! IT is terrible to see a senior cat in a shelter! Their final years should be curled up on a lap or sofa, dreaming of their youth. BE well.
Your first sentence is also my scenario...over the years, 6 cats, 2 of them were strays. One decided to frequent my back door during the onset of winter and I'd put food and bedding out for her...she was skiddish and wouldn't let me touch her. But one evening terrible blizzard conditions were forecasted so I knew I had to get her inside. I gave her some food and quickly grabbed her up while she was eating, and I took her inside. She decided to stay with me. She was about 16 when she became ill and then I had to put her down. A sweet, beautiful long-haired calico. I miss her much. You're right, cats ARE wonderful pets. Be well dear.

The same thing happened to me. But we couldn't let her go, as soon as we found out that she had no owners we decided to adopt her. She gave us the best present during lockdown which is to witness the miracle of life. Two out of 4 kittens are almost ready to be adopted together by a close friend and obviously we are keeping the other two kittens so she can have at least part of her kids with her.
I'm so glad you're keeping 2 of them. Mother's ( no matter what species they are) mourn the loss of their babies no matter what size litter they have. You're a really nice person.
Such a heartwarming story. You are a very kind & loving person to recognize she was telling you something. God bless you & I secreted hope you love her too much to let her go! It was meant to be that she sought help from you. So many humans would have run her off, scared her or hurt her. THANK YOU 🌹💜🙏

I know that animals sense which humans they can trust and that is why so many people find themselves on the receiving end of this trust. Especially cats looking for a safe place to have their kits. It is so rewarding to be chosen!

I got myself into quite the predicament. I am feeding 5 feral cats at work. We just moved to a new building a few miles away. I couldn’t bear the thought of them waiting each morning for no one to show up. So I’ve been leaving earlier to stop by there and feed them. Nobody wants to take them because they’re older now and they’re feral. They only trust me. So not exactly adoptable. Even worse they’re not fixed yet. Sigh…
You did a WONDERFUL job of being an adoptive mom and a guardian for that beautiful cat, allowing her to feel safe to share having her babies with you ❤️❤️
My cat, who's passed on, had the same markings at this mama cat. When I went to the shelter to pick out a cat, I had singled out 2 kittens, which uncannily, had the same markings as these kittens. A young woman was enamored by the all white kitten, so I ended adopting the tuxedo. Boy I miss him.
Based on her behavior, I'm gonna guess that she was some irresponsible person's pet, and when they didn't get her spayed and she got pregnant, they dumped her. One of our kitties belonged to someone else at some point, but whoever had him was physically abusive. When he started coming around our place, he was thin as a rail and starved for attention as much as for food. At first, he was super paranoid of feet and had a really hard time with being touched on the tail or side. Over time, he's settled down a whole lot and has no more issues with touch or holding. He's been with us for nearly a decade, now. :)
This was how we got a bunch of our own cats. 😂 Momma Cat (What we'd named the stray when we saw her belly getting big as a balloon, and it just stuck) adopted us when she got close to popping, and we kept her and her kittens. We'd already had a pet cat who had kittens (this was back decades ago, before spaying and neutering was such a big thing, so we didn't know any better) so we were well prepared to take care of them, and basically hand-raised them with Momma so that by the time they were adults, they had become the most people-loving, affectionate, cuddly cats EVER!
This actually reminds me a bit of my cat Frappe, who at first didn't like us and would run away when she saw us, but when she was pregnant she came to use for us to feed her (and a month after she had her babies somewhere else she brought em over to us lol)
Poor little mommy. She knew her babies needed a safe place. She knew that safe place was with you. Thank your for being so kill and to her. May God bless you forever for your kindness.

That's exactly what I was thinking. She did a full-on indoor- outdoor perimeter security check. She did this woman's background check while sitting on the grass, scoping her out before entering. Passed with flying colors, I'd say 😻

When my cat gave birth in the morning, i had to miss work and almost got fired. I was so freaked out i forgot to call my boss.
They removed her kitten from her, its cruel
Stupid cat

Specially cats though. I don't know about many other animals who do this, maybe dogs. Cats are very special.

Beautiful. Thank you.

God Bless you for helping her!
The ones that choose you are always the best ones. They seem to ‘recognize’ their human and reach out. That’s usually an animal with ‘gumption.’

You must be an amazing animal parent to have had a cat live 27 years. That's truly remarkable. You're good peeps ♥️
27 years!?!?!? That sounds absolutely incredible!!! Do you have any secrets to keeping them alive this long????
So cute, thank you very much, I feed stray cats every day, I try to treat and neuter them. Street cats shouldn't go hungry, I want to spread this around the world, so I want you to support🐈💞😻

Sigh…

What a beautiful momma she is! I hoped that lady kept her.
