At least the sonic 1 special stages are way better then the original version of the sonic 2 ones. Wtf were the devs thinking with that one 💀. But speaking of special stages, i definitely prefer these and CD. I always found the 3 and sonic and knuckles ones very confusing, even when i knew how to beat the level. But the sonic 2 ones got massively improved in the mobile and origins ports. Its probably still my least favorite special stage tho.
I just think your opinion on Marble is really generic, it sounds like you couldn't even come up with your own at all. The point is to let the player know that the game ISNT just about speed (something later games forgot), and that the Speed itself is something you should strive for, not something to get handed to you, also the crusher point is stupid, you say its because of the collision yet the footage shows you getting crushed... standing DIRECTLY under the crusher. Apart from that good video.
