Beautiful bike. Love the mods you did to your bike they looks great. Make sure you wear riding gear and gloves always i never ride without my riding gear and gloves always no matter what. I've been riding for 35 years so riding gear is so important .Just watched the video from Ape Rider and he just went down 2 weeks ago on his R1M and thank God he had on riding gear otherwise he would be in the hospital. So wear proper riding gear and always gloves. Natural reaction is to break your fall with your hands and without them your palms and fingers are gone. Please ride safe and be careful buddy.
I've got a 2023 R1 M. Did you convert yours to GP style shift? If so, do you have to flip the shift rod/sensor so it sees the same push/pull action when up/downshifting?
That’s a good point about having to flip the sensor I’m not sure. I see there’s a threaded hole on the other side of the shift lever I just figured you had to move it from the stock location the that one but I could be wrong
I just figured out my own question- just had to look at it and realized it operates the shift rod the same regular or gp shift. Stock position/pushing down - pushes the rod up when going into 1st and pulls on the rod on upshifts. It actually does the exact same thing when the rod is relocated to the rear hole in the lever. Just makes for the the 1 up, 5 down pattern- It was just a matter of making my girl brain accept it. Duh - blonde moment. 😆
Wait, so it’s literally as easy as changing from the forward mounting point to the rear and it’s GP shift!? I didn’t realize it was that easy 😂 I’m definitely changing it now!

@@JDLmoto nice! I'm about 5'8. Sat on the R1 but didn't seem too bad. I have a MV Agusta 1000RS currently which is 33.27" and I manage perfectly fine. R1M is 33.9". I would hate to lower it but I've been flirting with the idea of a custom seat.
@@jasonalbert530 honestly you can pull it off with no modification! I got friends shorter than you who rock stock height super sports! Just need to lean to one side when you stop at lights. The seat is already paper thin so I don’t think you’d be able to shave any height off with modifying that but at 5’8” especially if you get some riding boots you should be fine!
@@JDLmoto awesome. What are your thoughts on lowering the bike with links, say .5"-.8"? Just enough to get the balls of my feet solid down. That's how I am on my 1000RS and it's very comfortable. I can back up, red light on hills, etc.
@@jasonalbert530 technically it changes the way the bike handles but once you get used to it it’ll just be normal! Whatever you have to do to make it doable!
I don’t get it. Why had such a odd silver paint in the middle of all black. They could have balanced it with some other part being silver. It’s just feels so off and a big reason I didn’t get r1m. Other than that. Fantastic bike man. Looks pretty
Thank you for the build breakdown. My first time getting a bike is coming up now I see where to shop and build. Your M1is beautiful.
@@darwinfranklin9238 enjoy it!! That’s one of the most fun parts is making the bike your own! Ride safe! 🙌🙌🙌
R1 makes the best looking bikes in my opinion. I just wish they more comfortable like 2009-2104 were!
Never sat on that Gen but the luimoto seat cover definitely helped on this one!!
She looks really good. I’ve done a few mods on mine. It’s definitely a satisfying feeling. Ride safe
Hell yeah!!! You too! 🙌🙌🙌
Pure crossplane animal 😈

Thank you brother and yes I just saw that 😢 I’m glad he’s ok! I agree gear is a must!
She is looking good. 👍👍
I love the mods! One more thing I could recommend zero gravity corsa windscreen.
Thank you! And yes I’ve been looking at either that one or the puig one! New windscreen and then some ASV levers and she’s pretty much there!

I left it regular shift although it does look like it can be converted just by reconfiguring i just haven’t messed around with it yet!
