It's so nice to hear these synths demoed by someone who plays well, who has enough musical and style know how to really make sensible use of a patch, and fluid enough to improvise with sounds that may be completely new to this world.
Well, I do have to say, if there was an award for the most accurate title, this video gets it. Thank you Andertons, and oh my goodness the Polybrute. My admiration for the sound of this instrument has officially become a love affair. I have amazing VSTs and all, but this one takes your breath away. I have no idea how it happens, after a year and a half of studying music production and synthesizers, but it’s truly something else. Listening to this video is just as good as my favorite music.
mine arrived today..taking a break to eat so thought I'd watch some vids to keep the fun going . So far finding the ambient tones amazing and that bottom end growl is epic
There are many videos out there going into great detail about this synth but this one really sums up the sound and capability very well. I appreciate the crisp lighting and camera work as well. Sold! 👍👍👍
Several critical voices here but i really like the presets and the warm nostalgic sounds. Felt a lot of 70's artists in there like Jarre, Pink Floyd, Vangelis. Feeling inspired 🙂
I have the Polybrute, Behringer Odyssey and a Waldorf Iridium sitting in their boxes, all brand new and unopened right next to me. The temptation to get it all out is huge, but i refuse to even look at it until i get my studio room finished and ready to go….I used to have my synths in my bedroom but i went on a spending spree, the Polybrute, Iridium, Scarlett 18i20, Roli Seaboard Rise 2 (coming end of March), Behringer Odyssey, Boss Rc 505 mk2 Live looper, KRK ROKIT R8 G4 white noise studio monitors, KRK S10 Subwoofer, and a Moog expression pedal. Before that i just had a Korg Triton Extreme and an Arturia Keylab 88 mk2 connected to a minifuse 2, Mackie MR6 Mk2’s and a laptop…so i have quite the upgrade coming, just need to re carpet and paint the studio room then get it all moved it, i CANT WAIT!
I found getting better monitors and an interface really put the ball entirely in my court with the skills. A bad audio setup will always sound bad but if you have the tools to get exactly what you put in out of it.. i frees your mind to only think about exactly what it needs to.

this synth is so good that I was watching this video next to my girlfriend on the speakers, and she asked me what song I was listening to. I had to break it to her that it was just a demonstration of what the synth could do. in other words, this synth is pretty much all you need to make some lush ambient music lol
@@RadicalCaveman yea but that's why I personally don't want a synth that does it all. I love the idea of synths with a particular sound and purpose. I've always felt like this synth, a 8 voice korg prologue and maybe a cheap little string machine is the perfect combo and all I would ever need for my polyphonic needs. However I do understand sometimes people want a synth that can literally do anything and everything.
Jack has been a busy boy! You did play with this synth. Total performance piece. I could dive into this synth and not come out for a month. If I were to retire today, this would be the beauty I would buy.
Great demo! Does it sound better than than say OB6? How does it feel comparing to OB6 or other polys in terms of power, warmth and flexibility? Thanks!
Not gonna lie, after having my polybrute for about a month I got really tired of the sterile/harsh mids in the filter. I must be in the minority because I hear so many people loving the sounds, but I got myself a Take 5 and while it's not quite as raw as the polybrute it's so much more pleasing from the filter/osc, and even the envelopes.
Yet not a patch on Deckard's Dream 2 for CS 80. However a very interesting synthesizer in its own right, my only gripe about the Poly Brute is that it relies quite a lot on Effects. It doesn't sound impressive at all once you turn off it's reverb and delays. The effects make it sound big. It sounds pretty flat and thin without them on.
@@maydaygoingdown5602 Hmm... Mine doesn't. I make many dry patches, and they sound good. They're kind of _dry_ of course... like all synths without FX :-))
@@maydaygoingdown5602 that’s exactly like the CS 50/60/80 they only come alive with effects. I dont see a problem with it. An electric guitar without effects (no distortion, pedals, overdrive or reverb) is nothing too special either

@@Trottelheimer sounds like a great idea! Do you know of any poly synths that cost less than $500 that can be an easy option to learn more about sound design?
Urgh 😩 It’s so lovely. So if anyone is keeping count I want, nay, NEED the super 6, the Prologue 16 and now this. Anyone that’s got a hook up for selling my organs on the black market hmu.

These sounds...with no words...in these hard times, just bring me some inner peace. Thanks ☺️
Along with Mylar, I think this is the finest Polybrute demo I have heard. Absolutely stunning. Bravo Jack. Its made me want to buy another.
Shit, one wasn't expensive enough?

Absolutely loving the sound of this thing! Its like a CS80 and a Prophet 5 had a baby. Magical, top of my Wishlist!
Perfect description - totally agree
i think this is the first Synth Patch demo that gave me goosebumps... this synth is incredible!

Enjoying the beaut since Sunday, but mine does not sound as good as Jack's does LOL ... can't find the Skillz filter knob :)
You need to order a Jack expansion kit with the PolyBrute 🚀

It's a lovely demo, but this synth sounds too consistently lush for my tastes. What about when you want non-lush?

It's so easy to get excited about this synth. I don't buy it as I have still much to learn to really make use of such a powerful instrument.

It feels new and fresh but at the same time like arturia reincarnated the CS-&0

I own loads of keyboards, and synths, none of them combine sounds together like this one does. I have this one on order.
@TheRustyPeppers Well it morphs sounds together with special interactive faders, I don't think any other synths have that ability.
@TheRustyPeppers The sounds don't interact over long periods of time morphing into new sounds, and it sounds like a cheap synth.
@TheRustyPeppers Well it does, and you said it was $400, so it is. Facts are facts.
@John Stephens On the internet everything is digital.
Does the polybrute have poly aftertouch?
If you mean like the Hydrasynth has or the old CS80 then no.
It has Aftertouch same as most other synths have though.
Can you make it sound angry and heavy in the next vid please? x
Only 6-voice poly, don't waste my time! seriously it's beautiful.
Sounds like vangelis
2:44 wth?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Wow
You said the same thing about the Grandmother???
Is there any similar product on the market with a heavier piano action?
You are not banging against strings so all you are asking for is a particular feel which is not required.
@@pinchopaxtonsgreatestminds9591 I see. Well, I do like the havier feel of a piano action. How do you control the strength expression with a synth?
@@Elazarko The keys gently recognise how hard you press them, you get used to it, and it feels better on your hands.
If you'd like to play synths with piano keyboard action, you can get a controller keyboard with that kind of action and play your synths with that.

Turn off all the F/X ….the true test of a synth. Found the PolyBrute a bit thin, veering on weedy.
Indeed , you can ' f*rt' in a linear reverb and it will still sound big ,
a good analog synth needs only very minor outboard and rarely chorus
But i mean if it sounds good with fxs and that’s how it’s gonna be used, what does it matter?
Have a PolyBrute and I think it sounds frigging amazing with no effects engaged - have a look at the demo I did if you want proof!!
ahahah poor man
I picked one up. A/B it bedside a summit and my conclusion was tone and it just sounded like it had character to me over the summit.
