A concept i had for an Owlin charakter was an Owlin Wizard whos got his wings cut of in a traumatic encounter with a mad trophy hunter... and due to the cursed weapons of the mad huntsman the wings cant be regrown even with magic.
Years later he sets out to take revenge on the mad Huntsman.
I will have you know I picked owlin because I have a greater love and understanding for rogue based races.

They should also have Natrual Weapons for beak/talon unarmed attacks and (though I may be wrong) an option for their creature type to be Fey since, I think, they're related to Giant Owls(?).

I just made a wonderlust chibi fluffy owlin wizard who is a cultural anthropogist, writing a peoples of the material Plains book.
Named art(arterus) tuft. And is based off a barn owl I'm thinking he's like 2.5ft tall and mostly uses his wings instead of his hands to cast spells and prefers not to fly but can. I also infusion him acting like happy from fairy tail and thus allowing other party members temporary flight.
Rogue Owlin named Owlrya Stark. Silently flys through the night sticking people with the pointy end of her Rapier
My coworkers and I are going to build a DnD campaign for our Saturdays since work is usually incredibly slow. I've never really played DnD before but I'm thinking of creating an Owlin or Aarakocra character.

You should do a dual shield build
I actually had someone in my party run this and he would give that build a solid 10/10. It was a blast and surprisingly well utilized.

With Aarakocra getting nerfed, these also make wonderful Monks. Since the darkvision is probably more useful than the stupid wind spell the former now get.

I like the idea of a ranger owlin but
I thought monk would be fun; especially “slicing” people with my wings sorta speak
Not to mention if you take the mobile feat at 4th level you now move on the ground or in the air at 50' and don't provoke opportunity attacks when you move after your attack.
I'm currently building an Owlin Sorlock and taking Hexblade for warlock and shadows for Sorcerer.
I built an Owlin Battlemaster that’s an archer build. It took a little convincing of the DM, but I have to say that even with the flight, and 120’ darkvision, it has not come close to unbalancing our game. My DM is always joking about killing my beloved, but he’s done a pretty good job of negating any super advantage with scouting ahead, etc…
We just made lvl 6, and now I’m a bit conflicted on wether to stay fighter at 6 for the ASI, or jump to Ranger (for the Gloom Stalker of course) or the Wizard War Mage subclass features.

Things like the low level spells that are mainly PC buffs could make a lot of difference later.
Longstrider, Mage armor, Shield, Faire fire, Absorb elements.

i'm making an Owlin for a homebrew setting. he's a ranger/rouge and instead of chasing, he is running from the werewolf that killed his mother under the belief that the wolf is coming for him next. idk if ranger/rogue is a good combo, but i'm doing it anyways cus i prefer character over build

I'm making a (headache for myself) as 1st lv Owlin Life Cleric (who can cast goodberry with the Strixhaven feat(Witherbloom)), next 2 lvs in Hexblade Warlock (RavenQueen), then the rest in Bladesinger Wizard. It's 1st lv in Cleric gives him Chainmail, & with the common magical enchantment to doff armor as an action, when it's to rough in a fight, it's time for flight! (Literally hit & run)/(fight &/or flight)?

Genie patron flavored to be an Air Elemental
Personally nerfed race by not having fly speed. But can fly magically via genies 6th level so in not op at lvl 3.
I’m making a awlin character but my dm dosent want to have a character who can fly so my character has gone through trader of some one cutting there wings off and now my side mission in the campaign is to find a wizard who can replace them
