I love my Electric Kangoo: virtually the same! . The range is crap but ideal for my work! I rarely go to a petrol station now! I love the simplicity: literally swapping a diesel engine for an electric motor and everything else stays the same! It is cold on winter mornings though! I enjoy the torque and smooth power-delivery without the step-change you get with gears! I am a gardener. My normal maximum range is 16 to 20 miles roughly: I am very happy to drive 'there and back' and simply plug-in when I get home. What I hate is having to go shopping at Tesco for 3 hours with it plugged into a 'Pod Point. My petrol car broke down so I had to drive to Tring from London: I took a wrong turn on the way back and got very worried that I would not make it home but I drove like an old lady and managed to add an extra 30% range by doing so and had 6 miles to spare! Weird experience!

The interesting thing about this for me is that it allows you to be more flexible if you’re going to buy this as a second vehicle. I can see myself using this to take my tandem to riding events and so on. Usually they’re only about 60 miles total round-trip. Normally we stop at the motorway services on the way back for food anyway. However just to be able to chuck my tandem in something like this would mean that the main electric car I’m going to buy could be smaller and therefore cheaper. So you could certainly save the cost of the van by being able to buy a cheaper primary electric vehicle. Really enjoyed the video as always, thanks so much for this.

I think for what you need great. I was thinking about a crew cab maxi version of one of these as a microcamper conversion but a) the battery rental puts me off b) £6k is pretty normal for only 22kw which is poor value for money. c)no one currently offering range extension options like muxsan unlike the env200 and d) no rapid charge but since you got this for buttons in EV terms, well done.

I can't help thinking that actually getting work done will either never happen as it will stay above a quite low limit or that they use some sort of betterment argument if things look costly for them.

I had a 1.2 Renault kangoo MPV, I called it the blue snail it was dangerously slow when fully loaded. But I liked it because I could take the rear seats out and throw bikes camping gear the lot in it. I think a long wheelbase version in MPV spec would be a excellent family ev. On another note I can imagine this will always be worth a couple of grand because of the classic car ev conversion scene.

I'm a tempted by a Kangoo Z.E since it would cover 95 percent of my trips. I can charge at home, the range is more than enough for my short commute as well as to visit my family and friends living 5-20 miles away. And I would have quite some use for the loading capacity. But with the current price it still has a hard time to compete with an old normal ICE car and a lot of trips within the town can and are replaced by bike and motorcycle.

Just looked on autotrader and there are plenty of diesel versions of similar age and milage where they want the same money. So the "electric prenium" on this is the £25 a month lease - but no tax and MOT, which would be about £18/20 a month. Financially, given the savings on electricity v Diesel this is a no brainer for someone like a small tradesman who drives to a site, plugs it in and 8 hours later unplugs it and goes home. In the UK very few such folk would take on a job more than 50 miles away - I've had plumbers based in the next town over refuse to quote because they 'don't go so far for jobs' (and that's 20 miles away). I'll be interested to see what the issues are that made this one so cheap.

Turned out to be a bit of corrosion on a information loom that was an easy fix once they found it.

so when will we get the 1000 mile challenge. and how long it will take to do hehe.
an interesting miles to kWh empty and with weight in.
I would be more silly paying 25 month 300 year if going to do very few miles.
since the van only charges at a very slow speed then you are not going to stress the batteries and so have them fail
and paying quiet a bit and the cost of battery replacement for such a small battery now can not really be that much. I wonder if you could fit a larger battery into it to give it better mileage figures.
I think re-vanish the wood in the back, knock out the dint in the door, and get rid of the advertising unless that company will pay you to advertise for them.
the van is no tourer holiday small camper van which is more a pity but since it has age what is it looking like under does it show rust how are the parts holding up dont forget many people image of any ev is that after 5 years then its dead and need new battery or is total scrapyard item its always good to prove them wrong
