    Hi, I have an older kangoo and I have seen a post to check that the wheels spin freely. I have looked at mine and found a rear wheel sticking slightly.

    Hi. I see that kangoo doesn't have cooling/heating battery pack. Nissan leaf had that problem.

    That exit duct underneath may be the exhaust port from the diesel heater ?

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  3 года назад +2

      No its not as all Zoe and Kangoo 'R' motors have this. Its a heat extraction system from the motor stack.
      The diesel heater (rarely fitted on the Kangoo ZE) has a side exhaust/vent from memory. I have had one Kangoo ZE33 with this heater fitted.

    is there any differential oil to replace ?, I have a Kangoo ZE here that may be due for some

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  3 года назад +2

      There is oil in the reduction gear on the back of the electric motor, but according to the Renault schedule, this never needs replacing. You can see what is needed here www.gogreenautos.co.uk/buyers-guide/electric-vans/renault-kangoo-ze-guide#h.p_EVv-yvzliey8

      @@GoGreenAutos: I wonder if that is the same as Jaguar, VW / Audi, Mercedes etc all saying that the automatic gearbox oil & filter never needed changing in the ZF automatic gearboxes, (despite ZF saying change every 25’000 km).
      Despite what Renault state, I suspect that the oil in the EV gearbox would need changing at some point, maybe every 25’000 miles? I wonder if there are drain / fill plugs for it?
      That might be worth looking in to?

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  4 месяца назад +2

      @@frazerguest2864while EV reduction gearbox oil changes aren't in the manufacturer's service schedules, it is wise to change the oil about 50-80,000 miles. I'd say more like every 30-40,000 miles on Nissan Leaf and ENV200 as these have a weaker differential within the gearbox.
      Since filming this video, I've done plenty of gearbox oil changes on Kangoo ZE vans. I've not made a video on this yet, but I have on other EVs. You can see these here www.youtube.com/@GoGreenAutos/search?query=oil

      @@GoGreenAutos : Thanks for the quick reply about this. Both my Wife and I are Couriers and we’re looking to change her Kangoo 1.5dci for a Kangoo Maxi crew cab EV and my Renault Trafic for a Maxus e-Deliver 3, so I’ll be sure to check out the link you posted above.

    Is it possible to install L tracks on the floor of an electric Kangoo?

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  10 месяцев назад

      The floor is identical to the floor of the diesel version, so yes. The battery blocks access to some of the floor, but then so does the fuel tank and exhaust on the diesel version. But it can be dropped out if needed and its pretty small anyway.

    All well and good, less moving parts, simple drivetrain and far less to go wrong but the problem with all EVs, vans in particular, is that the price of new and used is an utter piss take.

    • @ledsalesoz
      @ledsalesoz 3 года назад +3

      They are expensive, but many places have incentives (I live in Australia and unfortunately we have no incentives here, but we still have an EV, they are so much better than having an ICE it's hard to describe until you own one).
      An EV can save you $1k or more on fuel costs alone each year, plus hundreds more on servicing, plus for commercial vehicles, less time lost on downtime, so more savings. At the moment, EVs are already the better option for many commercial enterprises, and as more people buy them, prices will come down, they are already much cheaper and much better than they were just a few years ago.

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  3 года назад +3

      I've had some nearly new ones at less than a year old with only a delivery mileage or less than 1,000 miles on the clock for under £15K+VAT. True, more expensive than a diesel, but hardly utter......

      @@stuartanderson3479 Electric vans have been in the UK since 2010. So while I quoted nearly new prices, you can buy a used one with battery lease for around £3-4K. You also have to remember the running costs around around significantly less too. If you can charge overnight at home, then it can be as low as 1p per mile, vs about 13p per mile to run a diesel van. Plus no road tax, London ULEZ chargers etc etc.
