I'm confused here. Why can't people enjoy Chicago for who they are now, not what they may have sounded like with different members? Terry Kath is gone. Instead of folding up, they continued on and have stayed as one of the great bands. They are a great medicine for my depression and anxiety. I know this may sound a little rough, but if you don't like the way they sound, why do you watch their videos? Let us who enjoy them do so!!!
Don't Understand why everyone trying to compare Chicago of today with Chicago of the past...Am 55 been a huge fan since the Beginnings Think this performance stand on it own merits thease guys are still very talented musicians and think about it they were in their 20s at Tanglewood yes I most certainly agree they have never been the same since Terry's passing !!! And of course Danny and Peter... Appreciate this older and slower Chicago Some day they will be gone But never forgotten!
of course these guys rock...its not vintage back in the day ..nothing will replace that......wish it was me on stage rocking...!!..Chicago thanks for the last 50 years!!..
I'm a 65 yr old geezer & have listened to Chicago from the very beginning, seen them a few times too at the old Warwick Tent here in Rhode Island, playing on that great old revolving stage, they use to like warming up for the tour at the Tent, fantastic shows every time.Gotta tell you though, the live performance of 25 or 6 2 4 and I'm a man at Carnegie Hall was hands down the very best versions ever played by the band, Danny Saraphine in a class by himself. These guys could put 2 more drummers up there & they still would not touch him!!! Danny's timing & technique was second to none.Miss the old days but at least I still got my tunes and hearing!!!!!
+Richard Catalano I still love what Parazaider revealed on one of the DVDs I've got. Whose the best guitarist? Ask most folks and chances are most of those you ask will say Jimi Hendrix. And Hendrix's himself told Parazaider that Kath was a better guitarist than he was. Think that's saying a lot from the man generally considered as the best guitarist in history.
I also read the article where Hendrix said he felt Terry Kath was a better guitarist than he was, Hendrix and Chicago were to tour together but Jimi died before they got that together, what a shame, imagine a show like that when both bands are peaking!
I saw this exact lineup of the band about 6 years ago from the front row. Sadly, most members you see here are gone. I've seen Chicago 12 times total. No more.
The problem with a cover band is that they have a pretty high bar. You have to at least perform with the same energy and passion as the original. These guys play like a wedding cover band that really don't like each other.
If you grew up with the originals, you'd have trouble with replacements also. Nothing can compare to the original lineup cause it's only a COPY of the original. I came to compare, just doesn't cut it for me. Glad you like it
While I certainly don't disagree with you, the person really missing from this song is Danny Seraphaine. This song cannot be properly performed without him.
Commendable cover of the Steve Winwood/Jimmy Miller composition....The Spencer Davis Group did this song. Terry and Pete would help it,but Chicago is still a great group that has endured!
have they ever read the lyrics of this song ? this session sounds like a contest where everyone try to do his best without feeling, just keeping a soft behaviour. and ... where are you danny seraphine ? i guess they have got to play their new songs. Like Mooj says to Andy in the 40 Year Old Virgin - life is about passion and spirit - it isn't about fucking and balls and pussy - it's about love, people, it's about connection - and this version is missing all of that compared to the '68 B&W version of this! Look it up!
It's unfortunate that the power trio core of the band is gone.. one not by choice, another admittedly a butthead, a third inexplicably.. but oh well. Any version of the band after Kath is lacking anyway.
I can appreciate the musicianship here but the guitarist needs to at least get close to Terry's licks! It's too much heavy-metal type licks and whammy bar. Just my opinion...
Percussion solos are also rather sterile. I saw them do this live with Kath and Seraphine, and Laudir (sp?). Coming from a long time, die hard fan, this is a pretty poor offering .

Clay Hesser I came here to say what you just did. Thanks mate!
Thats what I don't understand about haters. Takes more time to write a berating comment than it does to move on.
just checked it out--- doesn't meet minimum standards. Adios, won't be back.
I have their Greatest hits Album...and you are so Fucking RIGHT
I have their Greatest hits Album...and you are so Fucking RIGHT
I am only a young 56...but, I think realistic but, I enjoy life and think YOUNG
The 2011 version of the band Chicago is a far cry from the Terry Kath days when they were a true legend
But I believe better than what they put on stage today.
Pure joy, these solos are so alive and kicking! It seems that comparing with the past makes you unhappy with such a great peace.

One of the hardiest groups to ever grace a stage. Terry's long gone but the legend lives on in spirit. Quite evident they can't forget.

still miss Terry Kath, one of the most underrated guitarists ever, power, speed, kick ass

Kath was power, speed, the band changed after he died
I also read the article where Hendrix said he felt Terry Kath was a better guitarist than he was, Hendrix and Chicago were to tour together but Jimi died before they got that together, what a shame, imagine a show like that when both bands are peaking!
Terry, Terry, Terry ... miss you

The singer is excellent along with the rest of the band
"Fellas...to tell you the truth....I could have used a little more cow bell, baby"
Great Song!
Love the percussion!
вот на какой музыке надо воспитывать людей слушаю сорок четыре года спасибо им
Keith, Drew, Tris, Jason, Lou, Robert, Jimmy, Lee, Ray.... Every single one of them put on a super impressive performance here.
Awesome percussionists! Would love to have seen this live!!
They still play it every year on tour.
I saw this exact lineup of the band about 6 years ago from the front row. Sadly, most members you see here are gone. I've seen Chicago 12 times total. No more.
J'ai toujours adoré ce groupe. Premier morceau entendu en 70 l'amour à man et tout le reste est superbebe
Thanks Saskatchewan! This is wicked! Got to live the percussion solo !!
Bring back DS. His solo was just that...and sounded much better. No drummer can ever beat the melodic sounds he emulated.

Incredible drummers soloing on I'm a man phenomenal!

❤❤Qué Preciosura De Melodía De Mi Época ❤❤❤
Well the band will never be the same R.I.P. Terri . Miss Peter Cetera too. Not the same
While I certainly don't disagree with you, the person really missing from this song is Danny Seraphaine. This song cannot be properly performed without him.
What ^^^^ said. Danny was a monster and just tore it up on this track.
Best song they ever did i was there!
Is THAT the same man on that cowbell 40 years later?
Yes, he is James Pankow.
I DO MISS TERRY !!!! 💜 BUT THE OTHER SINGERS , ARE ALSO GOOD !!!! LOVE THEM ALL !!!! 😇🙏💖😘
Teresa so well stated these guys are really people need to stop comparing them to Terry was alive and rocking in just sayin
Commendable cover of the Steve Winwood/Jimmy Miller composition....The Spencer Davis Group did this song. Terry and Pete would help it,but Chicago is still a great group that has endured!
Chicago ended when Terry Kath died in January 1978
I agree!
And a huge hit machine rose from the ashes
A Leonid and Friends cover band!! These guys are kinda good, but not like the real thing- especially live, for sure! 😁✊️
I loved Dawayne Bailey's version of I'm a Man! He really was right up there with Terry but the old timers didn't seem to like that.
So good!☺️
There's no point in even trying to compare this with the original. Nowhere near the same league.
I agree with Joel and Terry Alot...What is the darn point here? Going back to the 1970 vid for Kath and Cetera.
Great Song.
Chicago Classic. JAM down!
WOW, immer noch so gut wie früher...
They should have done the song with Peter Cetera on Vocal and Bass, and Steve Winwood on vocal too
Yep . . . YOU ~ ROCK ! !
Wait... is that the reincarnation of Ed Cassidy on the drums?
Saw them 76 at Saratoga performing arts center with Doobie brothers and chic corea
Excellent!
Awesome sound they still have!
J'adore !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
have they ever read the lyrics of this song ?
this session sounds like a contest where everyone try to do his best without feeling,
just keeping a soft behaviour.
and ... where are you danny seraphine ?
i guess they have got to play their new songs. Revival is sometimes better served by new artists.
My how things have slowed since the '70's
Wow what concert
Love you keith.
superbe .......superbe.......kiki.....
The guy on the timbales 'Sucks." big time.
I'll assume for now you're a percussionist. Why does he suck?
James Caan on cow bell and backing vocals.
Just because " Chicago" is on the bass drum, Doesn't make it Chicago.
Rudy Overlord he wasn't fired...he left due to health problems and family issues
Look at Leonid and friends cover of this.It rivals original.
Yes really and great gitarplayer
Keith is in his own here---great guit-"artist"---
Terry Kath, where are you??
In Heaven
Not as good as Leonid even with Robert Lamm
More cow bell ! LoL
je prefere la version annees 70
As good as advertised.
ROCK ON BROTHER
Well done ,,not up to the original,,but well done
я вас люблю спасибо вам всю жизнь с вами
So tame
Cover band?
Like Mooj says to Andy in the 40 Year Old Virgin - life is about passion and spirit - it isn't about fucking and balls and pussy - it's about love, people, it's about connection - and this version is missing all of that compared to the '68 B&W version of this! Look it up!
No Terry Kath and no Peter Cetera. Tris Imboden knockin' out on the drumkit. Not bad.
It's unfortunate that the power trio core of the band is gone.. one not by choice, another admittedly a butthead, a third inexplicably.. but oh well. Any version of the band after Kath is lacking anyway.
grandiiii
Sorry buddy your NO TERRY KATH!
Never try to make music as it was.
Frank Uijens what do you mean
I can appreciate the musicianship here but the guitarist needs to at least get close to Terry's licks! It's too much heavy-metal type licks and whammy bar. Just my opinion...
Not even close without Terry
Mon temps de DJ
ouawwww ...quel pied .........
More cow bell, more cowbell, more cowbell. hehehe
Percussion solos are also rather sterile. I saw them do this live with Kath and Seraphine, and Laudir (sp?). Coming from a long time, die hard fan, this is a pretty poor offering .
yes go
Miss the subtle opening of the original...bit ham fisted despite the talent.
Great..,RWB
The guitarist did a good job here, but this song can be played by Terry Kath.
The percussion interlude is just embarrassing no chicago no timbales groove
Just ok, ,,,,,, Danny made it real!
The dudes got time to itch his nose? ?????? Dude your playing for Chicago! Pay attention! !!!!!
Sux baddddddd !
Latin percussionist laughable ! ( play with no feel)
Cierto le falta feel y Candela a ése timbal, sabor Latino man hahaha!!
good try,
no comment
..." psy brešú a karavana ide ďalej"
Pathetic attempt of Chicago doing their own tune !
sweet jesus this is terrible! This version is a crime against humanity.
