Having a Miscarriage in Texas in 2021: What it's REALLY like. MY STORY.

  • This video is important to me and to all the women living in Texas who have gone through a traumatic experience like I did. This video is NOT trying to get into a debate of pro life vs pro choice but is to show how laws like the ones recently passed effect ALL women no matter where you stand on the matter. This is me telling my story in hopes of shedding light of how even women who miscarry are affected. NO woman, no matter what circumstance, background, choices they need to make should have to beg for medical care. I have so much else to say on the matter, but hopefully I've said enough in this video to have a real and honest conversation about laws that affect women greatly.
    For anyone who has had a miscarriage or is going through one right now, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Having a miscarriage is a very personal, difficult, and lonely experience to go through, so I hope this video brings even the tiniest bit of support knowing that other women share your pain with you. I'm sending you SO much love, support, and the biggest hugs possible. XOXO Marlena

      @@voxfugit actually, there currently is a House Bill, the H.R.3755 - Women's Health Protection Act of 2021, that needs to be passed by the House so the Senate can vote. This is a federal issue, that could make Roe v Wade irrevocable. The act would protect a person’s ability to determine whether to continue or end a pregnancy, and to protect a health care provider’s ability to provide abortion services. Also, the house is trying to also revoke the Hyde Amendment, so anyone regardless of economic status can have complete control of their reproductive health and future.
      So yes, this is currently happening in Texas, but there are many other states which have been imprisoning women for decades for merely having miscarriages, and there are dozens wanting to pass similar laws as Texas. The only way to stop them all is with this federal protection.
      So please call your congressperson and demand they vote to pass H.R.3755 the Women's Health Protection Act of 2021.

      Most of the more severe illnesses happen to people by surprise, unexpectantly, impacting first in the brain, then in the corresponding organ which that part of the brain controls. The end of WWI had absolutely everything to do with the Flu and lung TB outbreak that occurred killing millions. In nature, the biological conflict linked with a territorial fear (just what it means-a fear in your territory, your home, your community, etc.) is a widening of the bronchia (tissue loss). Your body attempts to widen your bronchia in order to allow more air into your lungs to give you more strength and energy to fight to keep your territory safe. Stay with me.......The biological conflict linked with a death fright impacts the lungs. The lungs attempt to grow larger in order to allow more air in because breath equals life, as we all know. No breath equals death.
      While you are in the fear or death fright conflict, you notice no symptoms of “disease”, except you have cold hands, cold feet, you can’t sleep, you awaken at 3 AM every night, you have little appetite. During the WW1, millions of people were in fear of the bombing of their homes and cities where the war was most active. Fearing for their lives, their loved ones in the war, their ability to survive. The food in the stores was sparse due to shortages. This lasted for 4 long years! The longer the conflict, the worse the healing phase. Within 2 weeks of the German Chancellor announcing the end of WWI, these millions of people ALL went into the healing phase all at the same time. It is during the healing phase that you experience symptoms of illness! What is the healing phase of the bronchia widening? Severe bronchitis, pneumonia. The body attempts to refill this lost tissue and you experience inflammation, fever, coughing, body aches, fatigue, etc. What is the healing phase of the extra lung tissue that grew? Decomposing of the tissue by TB bacteria and fungi. The symptoms of this healing phase are: severe coughing up of blood and tissue, fever, inflammation, severe mucous, body aches, fatigue. During this decomposing of the extra tissue (tumor), the body expels a lot of protein, and without replenishment, severe protein loss can result in death. Antibiotics did not exist yet. If TB bacteria does not exist in a person or they have been vaccinated against TB (big mistake), then the tumor will simply encapsulate and become dormant and not harm you. Who died during the Spanish Flu? Mainly the poor who could not afford to buy meat and proper nourishment, and the people who were directly impacted by the bombings and destruction of their homes.
      Millions of people suffered fear and death frights during the fighting of WWI, and millions of people all went into healing at the end of it. Not everyone was affected because not everyone suffered the same way.
      It’s not a “flu”, it’s not something you “catch”. You do not “catch” disease from others. A lie told for 100 years never becomes the truth. It’s biological, meaningful, and unavoidable. One hundred years later, a Fear Campaign begins, using the media to spread it......

      I guess you never heard about planned miscarriages. There is a certain cult-church wide-spread in there that uses unborn babies as offers to their god. In the old days they could do more drastic acts but nowadays, since everyone and everything is observed, they have chosen to use more discreet ways, like offering the life of a baby that is not born yet, just a few weeks before. So they plan the dates and when a big celebration for them approaches, like the one at the 31st of this month, they are free to take this medicine and lose the baby and many of them sell them. Since it is unborn, it is not considered a human and there is no crime, but it fullfis the whole point of the sacr... offering. Actually, their church was one of the organizations that stood up against this law because it was stopping them from their religious activities & rights. Does it make sense to anyone of you ? That is why they want proof from two doctors that the baby at the moment is not alive ... This law indeed puts under certain control the body of the women, but what about the other side. Have you all as society ever tried to take responsibility for all the unborn children that where created only to die by their parents before their birth? For pregnant women, even from the first weeks, a fetus is considered a new life and they have feelings for them as if they are whole babies, but then again, are they ? What for some people are cosidered a mass of cells, some others are looking at their offspring and vice versa. First clean what is eatting you alive as a community from the inside and then, they will have no apparent reason to allow these strict laws to continue.

Big hugs ~ I mentioned on Twitter that I had a stillbirth at 7 months and I was at the doctors for one visit without my husband and they couldn't find a heartbeat. They immediately did an ultrasound which confirmed that the baby was not alive. This was traumatic enough but they told me to go home and let nature take its course or they could take me on Friday to induce labor. This was a Tuesday. I simply couldn't believe they let you walk around with a baby that's not alive inside of you. My point is, loss is difficult and being sent home was in my mind unheard of.

    I’m so sorry, I’m praying for your comfort. This is grief. I’ve miscarried twice-first one my OB told me I had options but recommended I miscarry on my own. It would only be “like a heavy period.” That was a lie! It was the most traumatic experience I’ve ever experienced. Literally felt like I was in labor, and the bleeding was horrific. @kleedasantos3236 3 года назад

      I had two miscarriages and for me the DNC was traumatic. They went in to perform DNC only to find out I had tipped uterus. I happily went home with the pill and miscarried there along with the second time. They didn't give me the at home option the first time until the dnc didn't work. I'd rather my body go expel what's necessary on its own (with the inducement of a pill) rather then have my insides scraped out where there's a huge likely hood of leaving parts inside to cause infection.

    • @kleedasantos3236
      @kleedasantos3236 3 года назад

      And it's safer to have medication induced clearing of the uterus as D&C can cause scarring, uterine perforations, cervical tears and infection which can lead to infiltilty. Scarring alone happens in about 15% of procedures. It's statistically a lot safer to have medication induced miscarriage. I do believe we as women should have the option of both though after we're explained the pro's vs con's of both. However I feel marlana kind of spread misinformation about the medication induced option through her own fear.

I was only offered to wait and see if I bled or have a D and C. Because of the anti-abortion laws, the medical option wasn't available. now we have so-called pro-life politicians trying to roll back the abortion laws and return to the situation where women's healthcare is compromised and vulnerable women have to travel out of the country (as they did in the past in their thousands), to England, to get the healthcare they need.

    I'm near tears. This is so wrong on so many levels. I can't even imagine having to go through this. I had a miscarriage in late 2015. I wasn't supposed to be able to get pregnant, I'd gone years without a period due to a medical condition that caused me to be severely malnourished for awhile. I had one random period and then when I didn't have another I didn't think anything of it because i hadn't had one since I was 21 so it would of been more shocking to have another one. I found out I was pregnant and I was thrilled but terrified because I knew I was sick but it's all I have ever wanted. I miscarried soon after and then in January 2016, my husband, who I started dating when I was 14, died in a tragedy. When he died, I was mourning him and also mourning motherhood because I knew I couldn't move on and date again and I also knew that the chances of a single woman being picked to adopt, was impossible. It's been several years now and I still just want more than anything to be a mom. I'm fortunate enough to be helping to raise my niece and she means the absolute world to me, but I still hold hope that someday, somehow, I can become a mother before time runs out

      I’m so sorry to hear what you’ve gone through. Just the idea of losing my husband gives me so much anxiety sometimes. Truly, I’m so sorry. BUT as far as adoption goes, I want to encourage you. My older sister had leukemia as a teen, so she knew it would be difficult, if not impossible, for her to have a baby the traditional way. But all she’s ever wanted was to be a wife and mother. I used to tease her because she wanted to be a “baby factory” lol. Well, she’s 42 next month and single. Five years ago she decided that she wanted to be a mother so badly that she wasn’t going to keep waiting until she found a partner and husband. Adoption can be expensive so she joined the foster to adopt program. It’s free, and while the child is still technically a foster child the state pays a stipend every month to cover expenses. That’s not important, I only mention it because her first foster child was almost three and was eventually reunited with her family so my sister never got to the adoption phase. Her second placement was our Austin. After her first placement she told her caseworker that she wanted a baby under one year old and was willing to wait for that. She got Austin when he was six days old. He was a technically a foster child until he was two. That’s when his biological mom signed away her rights and he became legally adopted and ours. When he was just a baby everyone gave him nicknames because we were praying he would be ours and it felt weird to call him his legal name when my sister decided when she was just a kid that if she had a son she would name him Austin. We didn’t want to confuse him by suddenly changing his name one day. So one day I went over there, and I said, “Austin, your Auntie B loves you!” Charity was surprised and stared to tear up. I looked at her and said, “God’s already decided he’s ours so we shouldn’t let our own fear and anxiety get in the way of that.” And now Austin is a happy healthy five year old. I’m sorry for this incredibly long read, I just want you to know that even though adoption can be a long difficult emotional journey, single moms can legally adopt. You just have to be patient (which is really hard! I get it!), but start now. It’s absolutely possible. Good luck and God Bless!

    Marlena, I went to church with you in your home town, and will always remember you as a very kind and gifted person. Though, I haven’t seen you personally in years, I follow you from time to time and enjoy your videos and products. This video brought both tears, and feelings of frustration and anger for what you had to endure because of this law. Politicians and legislators do not think things through when they introduce and pass these kinds of bills and laws. Personally, having endured some intense trauma growing up, among my more conservative friends and acquaintances, I often find myself in the minority on my views on women’s rights and health issues. I hope you are able to find the strength to be a voice to help change this law. I pray that women who have endured intense trauma such as this find the strength to present much needed information to congress and the Supreme court to ensure the protection of women’s health.

      Your message was lovely Amy. I do want to push back on your assertion that politicians don't think things through. I think they do. They're men, not gods, so they want to do things that benefit THEM. What will get them elected back in office? Essentially this kind of religious stuff. I hope more conservatives speak up because this type of stubborn ideological stand is not good for women and society in general.

    Thank you for sharing your story. I shared your story on my FB and I typed up the part that I thought was most powerful. I am pasting it here in case others also felt moved by that part.
    "[I am sharing my story] to show what it's really like to have a miscarriage here... I get so angry that I was treated this way because of laws that were passed by men who have never been pregnant and never will be but are telling me how I am supposed to get help and made to feel like I did something wrong or I should be ashamed for me wanting to get a procedure that I feel like is safe for me to be able to try again for a baby in the future. I'm frustrated. I'm angry. And I feel like the women here deserve better than that... It doesn't matter what side of the fence that you want to sit on, laws like this affect all women, regardless of what situation you're in and it's not right. I shouldn't have to go get a-freaking-nother ultrasound and sit through that awful experience looking at a screen and sitting in awkward silence while someone shoves a wand in my sensitive area and tells me, 'hey, you lost your baby' again. I shouldn't have to go through that twice. And I shouldn't have to beg to get some sort of medical intervention to make sure that I don't get an infection so I can still be here for my daughter that I DO have. It's so fucked up. It's fucked up. And I don't know what it's going to take to change that, but it's messed up that that law is how it is here. Women deserve better than that."

    Marlena, thank you for sharing your story. I went through a miscarriage last January and I was about 8 weeks along. This was my first pregnancy and I never got to see the screen. I didn't know what was normal and how these procedures went. Once they told me that there was no heartbeat I went almost 3 weeks before I had to take medication to make my body cooperate. I had to go several times a week for bloodwork to make see if my numbers were decreasing before I was given options. I know how you feel wondering and waiting. I will say that I was traumatized from taking that medication and I had covid all at the same time. I was in so much pain that I called an ambulance and they said there was nothing that they could do to help me since I had covid as well. I felt alone and scared and thankfully the pain eventually stopped. The images that I saw were alot to take in and if I had to do it again I would probably do the dnc route if I could. How did you move on and even consider getting pregnant again after going through a traumatic experience like this? That is what I am struggling with now and I don't know how to move forward. Thank you for sharing.

      I recommand to look at an Irish group (this country had anti-abortion laws in its constitution up to a few years ago) called "in her shoes". Many of the stories there were from women who wanted to have a baby and who suffered terribly because of this law. I am very much pro-choice, not only for women to decide about their life but also for all the women who wanted to have a baby but still had to suffer the consequences of anti-abortion laws

    • @kenetrice
      @kenetrice 3 года назад +31

      I just shared this story to my page for this very reason. I am in Alabama (where people also want to pass extreme "anti-abortion" laws and are all very "pro-life") and I'm hoping that some of the people here who are "pro-life" will see how this can negatively impact any and all women (including themselves, their mothers, sisters, wife, etc.), not just those who are seeking an abortion. How can you claim to be "pro-life" if you don't care about the lives of women? If a woman who is miscarrying is not given the option or is damn near bullied into getting no medical help and forced to miscarry at home, it could lead to severe infection if the baby or sack is not fully miscarried (you know this, as a nurse). The infection could absolutely be severe enough to not only destroy any chance of a future pregnancy, but to go into sepsis and DIE! Is it really "pro-life" to say that a woman's life doesn't matter? Is it really "pro-life" to say that a fetus life should matter more than a living, breathing human being who walks this earth who may have other children to care for? I don't get it.

    • @jurassicjaws
      @jurassicjaws Год назад

      @@kenetrice Very well said. 👏 I'm failing to understand the logic of these comments that boast being pro-life in situations where the mother, who wanted the baby to survive and might already have other living children to care for, could die. That's being pro-fetus at best; it absolutely is not being pro-life. If anything it's pro-misogyny and pro-willful ignorance. It's not like there isn't decades of research showing what can go wrong and how much worse it can get without a safe environment.

    Hi Marlene.
    Hearing your story really inspires me to speak up more. I had a miscarriage back in 2013 when I was 18 and I have lived in Maryland my whole life. The Maryland laws are different than Texas, and I know I am still healing from my experience even though the doctors and nurses treated me well. One if the nurses had known that I blamed myself for the miscarriage because I wasn’t treating myself properly..but she insisted that it wasn’t my fault, and that she sees a lot of woman’s body’s at high risk; no matter the age. I was so young and I knew I wasn’t ready, under immense amount of stress, and was always fighting with my SO at the time. My body still cannot produce a regular period some months so I know now no matter how good I treated myself, my body wouldn’t have been able to carry a baby as badly as my ex wanted to be a young dad. He became a young dad that’s for sure..but by another woman when he realized I probably couldn’t make babies.
    I can’t fathom the emotional burden you experienced because of the lack of concern and compassion for YOU as a human being and a woman. I want to send you love and healing your way in all forms. Thank you for sharing with the world a piece of you that I’m sure you never wanted to touch surface on again considering you already live with it every day. I look up to you and I pray you and your family find that peace you ultimately deserve. Your rainbow babies, your daughter, your husband and sooooo many grieving woman look at you as a warrior. You fought so hard for proper HEALTH CARE which no woman should ever have to do…but I won’t give up fighting as long as I can either. This right and left pointing fingers who’s right and who’s wrong shit is really where the issues lie. it’s the divid of a nation that creates power in deviant places!! Women are embracing their divine nature; there is nothing that will stop us from fighting for peace and love. The collapse of the US Government hasn’t just begun. Use this moment in time to appreciate what we are all experiencing; a time of change. It starts with us. Thank you for reading ❤️ I send whoever reads this peace, healing and love. Let the rain pour, but always get back up with your head held higher ❤️ Much love to you and your family Marlene!

    Thank you for sharing. I was 15 weeks when I was told my daughter was “incompatible with life”. She was diagnosed with Trisomy 13, and had genetic abnormalities that would limit her life. They offered to terminate our pregnancy that same day. For our very loved and wanted daughter we accepted her life to be as long as God had wrote it in the stars. I had a CHOICE, and I would never want to take away that right from anyone. She was born alive against all odds and we loved her for 14.5 hrs. She died in my arms and surrounded by love. Yours is such a tragic story and an inevitable journey many women share. We are not alone. There are many, many stories like ours. It’s about the choice, and we should all have one.
