From the beginning, from that black and white damask print curtain and the zoomed in camera…. To even now: you are amazing and I’m soooo glad you open your mouth to speak about everything your heart tells you to talk about. You are powerful and a force of good. Thank you for yearrrrs of being gracious with opening your life to us, even just a fraction-okay back to finishing up watching this video. I just wanted to say thank you 💛 . X x

I am a nurse and I am so tired of medical professionals looking at a behavioral health diagnosis and stop doing their job. I’m so sorry you went through this scary time. Our healthcare system is in the toilet. So thankful you have a diagnosis now. You are a go getter! You put the energy out in the universe. I respect you for your hard working efforts. Your kindness and warmth as a human. Thank you ❤

I have watched you from the beginning . I learned how to apply makeup through all your tutorials. You were humbled then and you still are. You have a pure passion. Sending prayers for your health and your being..

Marlena, I was so lost when I started actually trying to apply makeup properly over 15 years ago. You were the first person to ever teach me! I can safely say that honestly you were the first MUA I ever subscribed to on RUclips. Since then I feel like we have all been on this journey with you and wouldn’t trade the ups and downs for anything. Thank you Marlena for all you do ❤

I feel your pain with Lyme disease. My husband went undiagnosed and untreated for 26 years. It took me looking through 15 years of medical records to diagnose him and getting the battery of tests ran. He's now fully retired/disabled. He has late stage neurological Lyme disease. We've done every single treatment we could find. I wish we could afford S.O.T treatments. Almost everything with Lyme disease is out of pocket and expensive AF. I wish you the best Marlena. You were the first person I ever watched on RUclips and will be with you forever! 🥰

You were the first makeup RUclipsr i watched to teach me how to apply falsies for my Nutcracker performance in 2008. I’m so proud of your resiliency and growth throughout this challenging time. Excited for what’s to come!! ❤️

For YEARS I've wanted to buy from Makeup Geek and loved what your company was built on, but could never afford it. When I found out you were closing the doors on Makeup Geek, I decided to buy some products because even though I didn't really have the money to do so, I wanted to somehow support you! Too little too late, and I'm sorry but the quality and care in your products and packaging were phenomenal. I'm kicking myself for not managing to buy more Makeup Geek years ago. We love and support you, in your life now and in the future! 💜

I have IIH as well!!!! My opening pressure was 64 and my inflammation is always extremely high. There isn’t hardly any info about IIH. It’s awful. I’ve had over 30 spinal taps and a brain shunt placed. My vision has deteriorated and continued to do so. What you say about being on disability is 100% accurate. I’m so sorry you have to suffer through this but you are not alone!

I’ve been diagnosed with “unexplained inflammation” after having covid twice. The first time I woke up half my face was swollen. Just half. Then two days later I couldn’t walk because there was so much inflammation it was pressing on my sciatic nerve. Still haven’t received a real answer. I’ve been on unemployment, couldn’t qualify for disability because their saying something is wrong but nothings wrong at the same time. It’s scary and then with stress on top of it, it’s…a lot.

I was diagnosed with iih several years ago.. it was such a terrifying time. I have the absolute BEST neuro in Michigan. She is very experienced in iih.. I have moved to SC, and some weirdness is going on with my eyes this past week, and I'm not sure how to get answers here.

I was diagnosed with MS in June of this year. It's absolutely terrifying living in this body somedays and that is the one thing I wish more people understood about conditions like this.

I’ve watched you for over 15 years. I remember watching a tutorial on an eye look that launched me to try it myself and realized I loved the art. You inspired me and taught me so much from the very beginning. It’s been amazing to watch you and your brand grow. You’re amazing and so refreshing to watch every single time. I remember being 11 years old watching your tutorials using my moms work computer and then stealing her makeup to replicate your looks. Thank you Marlena for being an inspiration and a root for creativity amongst so many.
