  • Hey everyone! Today I thought I would sit down and give you a formal migraine video. I talk about my migraine journey throughout the past couple decades. I talk about specific treatments that have worked for me in the past & I talk about our plan moving forward. Since I am breastfeeding a lot is changing and it's a little scary. PLEASE NOTE: I'm not a doctor so please go see your doctor if you have migraines and don't take any of this as medical advice.

I'm so glad that Excedrin helps me with my migraines. I get the aura migraines every once in a while and those are absolutely debilitating for me and I throw up from those, but if I notice my vision going funny and catch it early, I can get some Excedrin in my system quickly and it won't be that bad. I hope these new injections will help you out. I can't imagine having those crazy bad migraines all the time, I really feel for you.

I am so happy you found something that works for you! Unfortunately for a lot of migraine sufferers Excedrin Migraine actually causes rebound headaches. I'm so thankful that I don't get them as bad anymore. I honestly don't know how I survived my worst migraine eras. It was rough.

So interesting to hear about your migraines. I've never heard of the numbness that you've had with yours. I've got a lot of the same triggers you do...sleep, stress, hormones, nitrates and hydration are my main ones for sure. I've only had the aura kind a couple times recently. I described it to my husband like I felt like I was looking through a kaleidoscope and it just keeps getting worse. I have all the things with mine as well, the feeling like you're head is going to explode, I can't eat, I'm scared to drink anything as the nausea is awful! That was especially hard with the kids were young cuz they just didn't understand. I do work part time and have to file every year for family leave so I don't get penalized at work when I call in or leave due to a migraine. That's been SUPER helpful as well as the kids being in school all day so hubby only has to do drop off and pick ups instead of having to be off the whole day. I've been going to the chiropractor twice a month and do stretches on a back foam roller with my arms out to stretch out my neck muscles. Excedrin Migraine seems to help if I can catch it early and it doesn't turn into a full blown one and I recently picked up some CBD rub that feels great on my neck muscles but I think I still prefer my peppermint oil. I've never heard of the treatment you're doing now. I wish you the best! I hope you update us on how you are getting along. Hugs :)

Ugh, I feel for you girl. It's so rough! I tried some oils, but I don't like minty scents to begin with and during a migraine my sense of smell is whack and so it only made me more nauseated. I couldn't handle it. Yep it sounds like our triggers are similar. Man, the aura stuff is so trippy. There is some info out there that Lewis Carrol (Alice & Wonderland writer) had migraine with aura and his aura influenced his writing.

I didn’t know you were pre med. one of my big triggers is stress as well. I’m not sure if it’s the stress of cancer or the radiation treatment but my migraines are bad right now.

Big hugs girl. You're a fighter. I am sure the stress and the changes on your body are affecting your migraines. I'll keep you in my thoughts and send out lots of healing wishes.

Back in the day my DR told me it's part of life and he helped me deal with it. Today is a different world. But I turned 50 and no migraines. But now I have joint pain and pre-arthritis lol Life right!! One thing or another. I am a born and raised Austinite so I hope to meet you one day. And the Earl Campbell sausage tastes good but was the pits for me lol

How horrible for you! If a doc told me it's just part of like and to deal with it, I would have felt totally defeated and heartbroken. I am so sorry that happened to you. I'm glad yours are gone now. I have heard a lot of women stop getting them after they go through menopause so I am hoping that's what happens for me.
If I host any meetups I will be sure to let you know!

I can't imagine, I hope the treatments work for you. Have you tried taking classes on transcendental meditation, probably wouldn't help to much for the short term but probably would help you in the long term.

I have tried yoga and guided meditation but never formally trained in either one. I have been able to manage stress a whole lot better over the years thankfully so it's not one of my main triggers now.

I am so sorry you are suffering. I think Botox is def worth a try if your doc wants you to go on it. It was a lifesaver for me. Good luck in whatever you choose.
