Country girl here. My family use to own pigs, and I remember my cousin had wanted to throw her baby shower at our house. Her boyfriend and his friend wanted to go see our pigs. So when they got over there, they both started throwing up from the smell of pig shit. City folks come down here thinking they could handle it. I lived the countryside most of my life, and when you're working with livestock, you have to have a strong stomach because theres a lot of things you gotta deal with. Such as cleaning the pins, dealing with open wounds, infections, hauling big ass bags of feed, etc. Plus, when it comes time to kill them, it takes a lot to prepare the meat... my least favorite part was cleaning the chitlings!!! So I dont know why these tiktok people think it's cute because It's not its a business.
Hahaha. I grew up rural then moved to the city. Those guys have no idea. Didn't farm but had my fair share of handling livestock. They would shudder at my stories and videos.
@@jumpingsloth3963 I was born and raised in the city but spent a fair amount of time on my uncle's farm. The looks I get when sharing stories is still hilarious, they haven't a clue😂
Irish country girl here. Went vegan at the age of 12 because I was appalled by the way "livestock" were treated on farms, in markets, in transit, etc. and realised I did not need not need to nourish myself on the products of such extreme violence. Irish farms are considered the "gold standard" for animal welfare; small, free-range, organic, etc., so bear that in mind the next time you're thinking of picking up "organic" "free range" meat, dairy, and eggs from the supermarket. Animals are sentient beings with lives and interests of their own, they are not ours to use and abuse as we see fit. In an age where fruit, vegetables, grains, and legumes are abundant 24/7, all year round, there is absolutely no excuse to kill or pay for an animal to be killed on our behalf for reasons of convenience, taste, tradition, or habit. The only time anyone should ever kill an animal is if it's absolutely necessary for their survival; if it's not a survival scenario, leave them alone!
Omg yes... pig farms are no joke. I went on a field trip to a pig farm when I was a kid. Took one step off the bus when the worst smell I could ever imagine hit my nose. I said NOSIRRR!! And went right back on the bus, closed the door and held my nose for an hour. I definitely understood the gangster body disposal idea in movies like Snatch. Nobody would be able to smell a corpse at the pig farm. And I bet the pigs don't like that life either. Swimming in their own chits. The crazy fact is you can free pigs from a farm into the wild. And three generations later, they'll look like wild boars. Hairy with tusks. Full-blown natural predators. Nature is wild. 😮😂
Hey, I'm in Italy. No one. Repeat with me: NO ONE who is working does home made pasta. Grandma's, staying at home wives sometimes find time to make Homemade Pasta. It takes time. Now, my girlfriend owns a farm. And it's only her and her dad. Farm with vineyard, with a vegetable garden, and fields for crop. The only animals in the farm are about 10 chickens and a dozen big rabbits destined for the oven. They DO NOT sell any of their own grown vegetables and animals. Believe me it's a lot of work. No vacation, almost no weekends free to see friends or play games unless it's winter. And even then you have work to do. The phrase: WORK AT A FARM IS NEVER DONE is a fact!
As an italian-american that can handmake pasta and sauce, hell I dont even hand-make my own sauce half the time. Sure its WAY better and I can do it flawlessly, but shit, you know how much effort goes into that, long prep, cook time, yadayada I dont need to explain it to a fellow italiano, same with handmade pasta, Can make somewhat quick handmade pasta that isn't great looking on a plate to save time but im just gonna use Cellentani for everything cause its good enough.
@@christop3 -- I always make my own sauce, but there's no benefit to making your own pasta. Unless you're making something like ravioli or tortellini, shop bought stuff is better and more convenient.
@@twatmunro Yeah, making your own sauce is easy and not that time consuming, specially tomato based ones. Making pasta tho... Only for special events and celebrations. It is extremely time consuming and it takes a lot of work and hands to make a good amount of it in just a few hours.
I was a trad wife, then i became a trad single mother of 11 children, (the oldest being 15 and the youngest was 1, yes i had 11 chidren under the age of 15). I did everything from scratch... EVERYTHING, including sewing their clothes, crocheting hats and scarves and growing our own food because I couldn't afford the grocery store. Not only was it time consuming it was overwhelming. It was rewarding in hindsight, but many a night, I was standing at the clothes line at 3 am crying because I was so tired, so burnt out and so overwhelmed. My only saving grace was that I undewrstood that my life was 100% - 24/7 about my 11 children, not about tik tok, you tube or looking pretty. Not only did I not have time to put on makeup, I didn't even own any makeup. These so called "trad moms / wives" on tik tok don't have a fu----n clue... SMH
I don't think condolences are meant to be given to women who have children, but condolences are all I can seem to find for you lol. That sounds soooooo exhausting!
Why do people call nara smith a trad wife??? She is literally a successful model and still models while being a MoM! She makes her own money, shes the opposite of the ‘traditional wife’. All she has is a passion for cooking, and she dresses up whole doing it, which is part of the theatrics of social media.
Totally agree,She has her own money which makes it easy for her to do all this. It's totally foolish for a broke broad to want to sit at home with no fucken savings to want to live the trad wife lifestyle
@@ciaras3170 also one thing to look into. Is EVERY SINGLE INFLUENCER. does what that white guy is talking about in the beginning. To equate "Trad" wives to conservatives is absurd. At a certain point in being a traditional wife. You absolutely get LOADS of down time. It absolutely has its benefits. All these influencers post photos of expensive cars drag meets car meets. Every side shows the goods of their sides. And arguably cleaning a bath tub once a month along with a toilet is not terrible. If your man misses the toilets and doesn't wipe the seat or his ass. You aren't his maid. You are simply asking for a bit of respect.
@@MarieNeco we keep usually around 20 chickens, used to keep a pig every year to kill during Christmas time, we have around 6 sheep's every year, and used to keep bunnies too, but I work now so I don't have time to feed them...we grew the corn they eat and we make the hay...it's a lot of manual labor on the sun, after 8 hours if work. And u can't live off just by these animals so u have to work and what u produce is a cut of the money u would spend on foods lie eggs, cheese, meat, and others. U think it's easy, but planting and taking care of enough vegetables (mainly potatoes) to last a whole winter for a family of 4 is a lot of energy and effort. Not to mention hay making, which is also done by hand, and u have to make one wagon of hay/sheep. Mind u my parents and I go to work too. The garden and 10 acres of land with corn and other things. I was there before 89 and after. It was the only time in my life when I felt free, I loved it. About the people that live in the city? @@fulop._.szilard3000 Not trying to say anything about you personally or how you managed your animals or garden. However lots of people make the process a lot harder than it needs to be with inefficient practices. This ranges from making the work harder than it needs to be by not investing in modern tools and knowledge or by attempting to partake in a certain livestock/produce that is not good for their area. Again I don't know how you did it but there are all of these factors at play when it comes to the level of difficulty. There are many methods to doing these things and many are not adopting more efficient models or doing what works locally.
No one, and especially not young children are going to be happy waiting for their cereal to be made from scratch in the morning, AFTER being asked “What would you like for breakfast?” Ridiculous.
@@joshuamorillo1694That's @TheMisadventuresofNaomiJ in a nutshell. From watching her videos, she like the fantasy of a relationship, but doesn't talk about the labor you need to keep a relationship going.
My Dad's family has had a ranch in Colorado since 1876. My Grandma (born in 1913) raised 4 boys and when they were teens she went back to work as a teacher. She used to take eggs and milk "to town to trade". She had a garden and canned everything, butchered her own chickens, made 3 meals a day, made bread every Saturday and made my Grandpa breakfast every morning at 5, (There are no weekends on a ranch). When I was a kid in the 70's, she was still using an old school wringer-washer. I spent all my summers with her and it was a blessing! I learned so much from her! These women that say they want a farm have no idea what that really means
what they mean by a farm most of the time is a small garden with like a singular horse sheep and cow. They dont want acres of fields to tend to or hundreds of cows that take all day to care for lol. By the end of the first year most would let the garden die out, sell the animals, and say they wanna move back to the city as the hour commute to go to the grocery store sucks lol
I grew up on what's called a "gentlman's farm", a few animals, a big garden. A tractor. Composting. It's a manageable option, but even that's a LOT of work. And only sustainable if you have a suitable home and income. And work ethic.
It takes tremendous work ethic. I wanted a farm and big family but yeah our little one is hard enough to manage on my own and we don't have a lot at all rn ☠️
Both of my parents worked themselves to the bone to make it happen, both at home and at their jobs. Especially now, in NY state the property tax just to maintain the few acres all this sits on is taking up a big chunk of their savings now.
People wanting fundamental skills as a fall back incase everytbing goes to s*** is totally reasonable, though, especially in our current social climate. Some other countries do make sure kids understand their enviourment and how to live happily in it, if the larger supply chains fall apart around them. But, the problem with most of the Trad content is that its superficial, as the fellow at the beginning stated. Its like a class of people are very deceptively marketing a way of living that tricks the viewers into willingly sending themselves back into servitude 🫣
My mom was a trad wife. She was tired and resentful. She took it out on us in every way. Shouting, beating, with holding... It was tough for all of us.
My mum was a trad wife and other than us 6 kids having chores to do on a rota system, I look back and thank her for always being home and there for us. She never raised her hand to any of us and I realised how much of a wonderful woman she is, once I became a mum.
Dear men, this not good at all. We forget that trad wives had a support system in small villages back in the day. Group of families worked together as a collective bigger family helping each other out. Times have changed, communities have been replaced by individualism and therefore the support structure is no longer there. If you want a trad wife in 2024, then you should at least afford her 2 servants, one to help look after your children and the other to help with house work, furthermore pay her a salary to look after herself and be sexy for you! Women are not your slaves they are your helper to achieve great things, build a legacy, how can she help if she is always tired!!!??? When she is always tired, looks tired and ugly, doesn’t serve your sexual needs, you go and cheat!
Being a so called "trad wife" only works when the husband is a top 30% earner do she can stay at home and actually BE a housewife. Btw, no kids and she calls herself this?! She wants the title without putting in the work. Don't fall for it fellas.😢
She loves the glamour of farming / trad life but don’t understand - a) the hard work it takes be a farmer / trad wife in rural areas of Bangladesh or Idaho, USA b) social media will never show you behind the scene I am just flabbergasted that folks have become this gullible
Not to mention, if you are an actual, "traditional wife,"you have no bank account of your own. Always have your own bank account. I like my parent's decision to each have their own bank account and a joint account. Luckily, they love each other too much to get divorced after 25 years, but it's nice to know they have their own independence.
My wife is a full-time mom to three (17, 8, and 1). We have machines to do all the manual stuff, she does grocery pickup so she doesn't need to walk around the store...and y'know what? That means more time with the kids, which is the goddamned point. She will make homemade bread every so often because 1) she enjoys it, and 2) it's infinitely better than anything in the store (crock bread - jalapeno cheddar is our favorite). I'm grateful I can work from home (full-time) so when she needs to do something I am here to help out. These influencers need to go away. I think the housewife/trad wife discrepancy was more about the negative connotation with housewives in the stupid shows of the same name. I don't think that was intentionally an issue, I think she was just speaking from her limited knowledge.
Yeah the influencers aren't being realistic cause they are exclusively only promoting a 1950s standards. That's kinda dangerous to be undermining the history mof black Mammy's that were employed and all the women who came into the 60 being middle aged with lobotomies cause they needed to be "corrected."
But your wife sounds normal. The girl in the video sounds clueless… and just following a trend. Very immature and is missing the point of trad wives. A trad wife is from the heart and will naturally be submissive. If she needs to tell her husband all this then she’s not a trad wife. It’s not just a checklist that makes someone a traditional housewife. I like to use the word homemaker now because anyone Can clean and cook. But not just anyone can make a house a home ❤
This 'Trad Wife' trend used to be looked down on. I was a stay-at-home mom that took a lot of flack for not working. I was looked down on and described as lazy and unmotivated. I had 4 kids and child care has ALWAYS been expensive AF. And regardless of how much I worked, 85% of my paycheck would pay for child care. It was cheaper to stay home with the kids. Now 2 incomes are needed for maintaining a household, financially. I have respect for couples that can navigate life on one income but unless he makes 6 figures, it's not feasible in 2024.
Depending where you live 6 figures is fuck all (unless it's high six figures, which only a small percentage of males in the US make). If you live in a big city (where the majority of the work is) six figures is the bare minimum income to live *comfortable* and your significant other would most certainly have to work as well.
@@Law19157I second this. If you live right on the coast or some major city then you'll definitely need 6 figures but if you live in a rural area like I do then it's possible with around $40-50k
I live in am expensive city in Canada. He's a plumber, so no 6 figures. We make it work. I'm not sure what tiktok is telling people, because I don't have social media apps aside youtube, but you can't live large. That's for sure. The reality is, that you need to be foundationally compatible on all fronts. And understand that the choices you make, will come with sacrifices and compromises. In return, your kids will grow up with parents instead of being raised by the state. It's not romantic for the adults involved. Its hard. But my children will benefit from it. That's why we do it.
It’s just scary how people latch on to these trends and let it be the basis of their whole life and personality…BBL culture, tik tok dances, TRAD wives, Red pill blue pill purple pill, clean girl aesthetic, mob wife aesthetic, gym culture… eating 1000grams of protein just to post your ass on instagram, only fans. And all the other shit that has been popular in the last 2 years.
Ugh you cant compare trad wife to the pills. Everyone can categorically be labeled a color of those pills by simply assessing their personality or outlook, you get that involuntarily. Trad wife is just a gold digging grift.
Not really… unless you have different values and moral beliefs usually two people who enter into a marriage know that they will do anything to make something work.
Before it was Instagram. Before that it was Facebook. Before that it was reality tv. Before that it was regular tv. Before that it was magazines. Before that they didn't have much of a choice so whatever was popular in the neighborhood. Some people can use the right to choose to be stupid. So, it is what it is.
Youre correct about the trend but Nara Smith is different. She’s an actual model. She works so this doesn’t apply to her. Her husband also bakes. So although she makes things from scratch, that family isn’t traditional.

I'm a trad wife, but when I started it was just called stay at home mom, and then i just learned about all the crap in everything we eat so i started making things like bread from scratch at home. But i think the difference is I grew up on a farm. With actual traditional parents and grandparents that I helped grow crops and tend to animals. When i was 14 i planted okra that grew taller than me, then my daddy went and cut it, and I had to cut it up, freeze it, and then i cooked fried okra for like two years off that one garden. I at 14 cooked full meals for a family of four and sometimes more families, so when i got married and moved away, i went through empty nest syndrome. It was weird. Now I'm the stay at home wife i never thought i would want to be, and i see all the things my daddy had me doing as a kid and teen was the better way of doing things. Like gardening, taking care of chickens, like canning, freezing, and dehydrating food. Damn in 2020 and 2021 when the supply chain was fucked, i was like "shit, i need to figure this shit out". I don't think ya'll realize a lot of this stuff is a reaction to instability in our countries. Am i making fucking cereal? No, but i can making cinnamon rolls, and I couldn't do that just few months ago.
Still comes from a place of privilege, like they said...Most people cannot afford this lifestyle. The cost in most places to have even a small outside space for growing surplus food, is unattainable..So, yes these skills are great but not in the cards for most...Even the cost of canning jars for start up is expensive. This lifestyle is a privilege of those that have and can afford it. The other side is those in abject poverty that have zero choice but too scrap by with the little they have. Those people often aren't as happy and wish better a situation...
@askajk5895 so there is always a cheaper way of doing things. Currently, I'm saving all my glass jars and metal lids from my spaghetti sauce, salsa, and pickles. You can clean and sanitize them and reuse them to can your food. When I was a kid, we cut up our vegetables and froze them. You can buy a used dehydrator for under $50, mine was $10. You just got to get things as you go. And yes, if you live in cities on top of other people it's really difficult to do this stuff, but just having an acre of land is enough to have a vegetable garden. Have you heard of the victory gardens during ww2? People grew their plants in their front yards of their little suburban houses. People in cities actually grew veggies where the grassy spots are between the road and the sidewalk. Even the government understood back then that being self-sufficient is very important in times of crisis. We might get back there soon.
@@askajk5895 You can still be at stay at home wife, and live modestly. Me, my sister's, my cousins, are all stay at home wives. Our husbands work 2 jobs. We are not rich or middle class. We have our priorities in check. Raising children is more important than a fancy car.
I’m 34 yrs old with 3 sons. 12yr old, 16yr old and a 18yr old that moved out and made me a grandma now. She just turned 1.!! Again, I’m 34. I agree with you but Nara Smith is the exception. She is not a trad wife. Both her and her husband are models and work. She said she enjoys cooking and while she cooks her husband cleans up all of the dishes. They also order takeout and eat out as well. These women just like to selectively watch her videos, label her as a trad wife and then selectively skip over the video where she said there are months she doesn’t cook at all and how her husband doesn’t expect her to cook like this - she just loves cooking. She works in the home and out of the home and both parents split domestic and child care responsibilities. Lucky, her husband is on camera doing childcare and helping to make salad and desert. People have just labeled her as a trad wife. She has also said she does not cook like this every day and only does it once in a while - she usually meal preps for her family.
Thank you. I was going to comment on this as well. I bake bread and make some other items from scratch. That's not every day, though. She works and makes money, which shows she is not a TRAD wife. I wish people would stop this narrative with her.
Even though that's the case, thats not really the point overall. The problem is other women are looking at her and creating the wrong idea and then applying it to their own lives and relationships.
@@Monkeydfitzy”The aesthetic” is the root of tradwifes toxicity. They curate an unrealistic picture of the way life should be lived. It’s a superficial way to draw people into a weak ideology. They’re all getting paid, yet act like they are selfless martyrs of family values. Sorry, but if your comments section is markedly full of divisive extremism, that’s the kind of creator you are. Side note: I don’t know much about the creator you referenced. I just see the same excuse for every single tradwife trash profile. “They are just living their life and everyone else is so negative” nahh… you a pot stirrer 😂
I have an old cookbook with bunch of old recipes from my grandmothers/great grandmothers time. It´s a lot of really SIMPLE and QUICK! potato based, flour based, grain/oats and beans based recipes. "Put it in the oven and let it cook/bake while you do something else" type of recipes. In an old traditional household a lot more than a cooking needed to be done, so if you spend half of your day just cooking, when did you do the other chores around the house? Not to mention all the garden, backyard and field work you did outside of the house too, some women even worked in factories. Of course, most of the things that required manual labor to do can be now done by a machine - washing laundry or dishes, vacuum cleaning,... And as soon those things were invented and became more financially available, people took advantage of that, because no one really wanted to do everything by hand. Children used to play outside with other children and/or helped with adult work when they were old enough, many had to "grow up" quickly to help raise their younger siblings, some went to school only in winter and helped in the field in summer....For all of those reasons, and many more, the "traditional wife" today is different than it was before.
I don't have issue with tradwives-the ones that actually have to take on all the domestic duties-I have a problem with those who glamorize it and think this is something doable because you saw it on tiktok without reflecting upon how. Nara Smith was used an example; she does not refer to herself as a tradwife but falls into that niche because of what she's showcasing. But she can afford that lifestyle because she is a model and an influencer. She has the funds to have time to do this shit because she has other people to take on other domestic duties. Baking and cooking is a hobby and she showcases what she makes. People need to have a reality check.
People also really need to understand that she’s not making things from scratch every single day. She literally won’t be able to live if she did that. A lot of the things she makes from scratch take a whole day or even more. So she’s only showing us what she plans to be filmed.
There isn't a single tik toker that's a "trad" wife. They're stay at home wives at most. They work in the house and make money in the house. People need to be less focused on life style and more focused on what your partner needs from you. Very rarely a partner needs a house wife. A stay at home mom yes but not a house wife. If you don't want to do anything for your partner that they need then they're likely not the person for you or you don't want a relationship.
Yea Idk why people against the traditional wife movement keep using her as an example. She isnt even pushing the movement. They need to focus on the extremist who are out right saying the lifestyle is the only way and bashing those who dont agree. Them and the simple minded people who thinks being a traditional house whatever wife is all black and white are the problem
My wife is a traditional wife, we’ve been married for 15 yrs. I can assure you there is no way she’s making cereal from scratch. She is genuinely way too busy for that nonsense. She does occasionally make bread and tortillas though

“Trad” is attainable, but it’s harder than most think. And it’s not pretty or aesthetically pleasing like they show on social media. It’s 18+ hour days, dirty, always cleaning and doing chores. crunching finances, worrying about weather, frost and seed archiving (if you farm) and not to mention being very isolated sometimes. You are techincally still WORKING. Just not a a corporate 9-5. Some women and men love it, and all power to them. It’s a refreshing different way of life, back to the “old ways.” But those who just want an easy way out (and whom always had a cushy corporate life) is in for a rude awakening.
That is my life RIGHTS NOW exactly how you described without farming, 2 kids only husband works ALWAYS CLEANING especially when I cook OMG never ending dishes 😩😩😩😩
What the fuck are people cleaning all day everyday? I have 2 kids and wife and shit don't get dirty everyday and we have a dishwasher. Like wtf is all this work coming from? 😂
@sayitasis8326 I feel you! I am a SAHM as well without the farming. I homeschool them, I'm always cleaning, always making sure everything is set up for my husband. He works nights so he sleeps during the day, then he works a 12 hours shift.
I'm a stay at home mom. I can assure you in real life most of the time I'm doing things like vacuuming and scrubbing toilets. But I do have time to make homemade goods yall really over estimate the time and energy it takes to make baked goods lol. I would never in my life make cereal from scratch that is excessive and ridiculous. Bread and pie though isn't that hard.
They think it takes an obscene amount of time because they've never done it. Even a good bread is 20-30m of prep and then you just let it bake. Even if you have to wait for the dough to rise, you can do other things while you wait. Not like you gotta stand there and stare at it lmao. My grandma has enough time in a day to do all your typical household chores, can some veggies from her garden, make up some jam to be frozen, cook dinner & lunch for 6, come fishing with us, and still get a nap in.
It’s true… I’m a stay at home mom and a house wife while my husband works. I have a toddler and one on the way. I barely have enough time in the day to do all of the regular cooking and cleaning and laundry along with some basic home schooling of my toddler. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE being a trad mom/wife, I never wana go back to working for a company, but it’s work. it’s not that pretty, I ain’t making bread from scratch, I’m buying it at the store. Also I think that if you truly are trad, you aren’t filming yourself and putting it on social media. BECAUSE you’re too busy anyways! lol
The real issue is they want it because they think it’s easier than working, because they don’t want to work, and they think their husbands will make their lives easier. They’re in it for the wrong reasons. People who just want an easier life without putting in the work have another thing coming.
I’ve been seeing this debate a lot on mommy face groups. Women tearing each other apart just because some choose to work and help husband with bills vs SAHM fully depending on their husband. At this point it’s pathetic. Both have their pros and cons. Everyone’s living situation is different and the fact people think there’s a correct way to live and survive is ridiculous. 😂
its for content If you're a stay at home wife or mom you are busy and you sure as heck not making videos of it you are too busy ( im dont even have a husband to be a stay at home wife but i know its work )
Damn people are so angry these days. Just cos someone makes bread from scratch does not mean you have to or that they have a gun on your head to make it from scratch as well. God damn. You're not being forced to do anything. Why is it that when somoene does something you want to take it that that's what it's like for everyone or that's what everyone should do. That's their life and they figured they would make interesting content out of it. That's it 😂. No offense though, I'm talking about the comment section in general too

When my children got older yeah, we made cookies, and cakes from scratch, but they were helping. This lady who has time to do all this, hats off to her or has she mastered the art of deception.😮
Okay, to be fair, though. Scrubbing the toilets and sweeping and mopping the floor, and vaccuming the carpet do not take that long. It's more about maintaining. Most places dont need toilet scrubbed or whole house mopped every day. It is mostly the bathroom and kitchen that requires daily maintenance clean.
Umm yes it does... if you do it properly. If you clean for say a family of 4 you gotta swepp a 4 bedroom house, move the furniture to mop, sweep, vaccum... but first you gotta wipe all the dust from the surgmfaces on top. If you do this for a full house it takes a few hours and it's pretty physical labour, you should be moving beds, couches and other furniture to clean underneath (if you're not doing this ans leaving the surfaces underneath gross then... you're gross)
@@TuAmigoElMorrocoy other than toilet bowls, living room and kitchens most things shouldn't be an everyday affair, they can be staggered, and you have to live in certain places to need to dust everyday..and if you stay on your kids you don't need to vacuum everyday. when they are 0 to 5/6 yeah you'll do a lot of picking up toys etc but if you started once they could walk to get them to pick up after themselves by the time they are 6 youll really be supervising them while they do it...
But his main point was why are they doing all this song and dance glorifying omg homemade cereal for my kids and rah rah im superior too you!!! is BS like I called bullshit instantly no one in their sane mind is going to be making homemade from scratch. For it to be baked because that shit is gonna take up to 2 hours and kids are little devils when hungry.
on top of that... I ALSO do those things regularly. I don't need to a see someone else do that. however, never once has it crossed my mind to make my own handmade cereal balls.. if it did, I would have no idea where or how to start. that is something worth sharing and talking about.
By the looks of her recipes it seemed it was pretty much just cookie crisp and reeses peanut butter style "cereal"so i dunno why she was acting like it was some innovative thing she was doing 😅 All she had to do was say she was bored because the maids did all the housework and child rearing already
My friends and I did the trad wife thing. Some were stay home moms, some students, some worked, some with no kids, and some were a mixture. However, we did it as a village. Some helped babysit for others, some had gardens and/or fruit trees (all growing something different, some made bread, some could crochet/ sow/ knit, some made pasta, everyone did something to help and we just shared our things, helped with services including helping with boring cleaning. I don’t think we could’ve pulled it off without each other and help from other fam members occasionally. Quite often if someone works part time or they have a job that doesn’t pay much, both people working actually costs more bc daycare and other short cuts the family will make (eating out or buying mostly premade meals, paying for haircuts, and more) to make things easier would actually have more money if the person making less stayed home
@@ejhdbegbeidishdj9358 The first sentence is written poorly. My thoughts weren’t fully communicated Some of my friends and I attempted to be trad wives. But a housewife also does everything in the home..... How tf you want to quit your job when you can't afford to? Your girl is being brainwashed by social media and thinks that's a strong argument. Leave.
social media and tiktok in particular has been brainwashing the general population for years, and we are finally seeing the result of it. and its this. I, as a 16 year old in high school, have met several young women who havent even got into the working world yet who have decided theyre just gonna find a man who will pay for them and support their lifestyles. yeah... no.
@@pablor491she is the type of wife that gets dressed up got her makeup and dress down just to cook cereal and doesn’t clean up the house or raise the kid
Brainwash? No, they're looking to get away from a stressful life. They all want to live a middle-class or rich life just by taking care of the house. I want that too, much easier than facing the job market.
Somehow people forget that those farm families had the farm as a job. If you can't afford farmhands it ment no school for you kids. You putting in your workload. Making everything from hand means someone else needed to clean, another work the field, feed the animals. It looks nice estheticly...but god damn is it WORK. And i bet you 98% would jump ship the moment they taste thst life.
Yeah I'm a woman and the 'I want a farm' woman annoy me. I homestead, I raise like 90% of the meat I eat and much of the produce. Whenever I mention *eating* what I grew from birth suddenly they get all squeamish. They don't want a farm they want to be a 'crazy-cat-lady' but with goats.
Ah, that explains the sudden influx in interest in goats. It's been crazy! We're breeders. We get inquiries, but our goats are meat goats- 200 lb to 400 lbs with an attitude. NOT pets!!!
They watched Disney movies and thought that was real life. The animals on real farms don't actually talk to you, Sharon. Real life means poop and puke, dirt and sweat, sore muscles and sleepless nights. The little girls are just trying to squeeze more money out of unhappy people.
I was a stay-at-home-mom for the first 10 years for my 2 kids. I was often burned out and exhausted, my children always looked good, stayed on a routine, learned to read and write years before their peers, learned to read music, i taught them cooking and cleaning early, i taught them money management, and it was all fun for us. Then when they were school aged i was on the PTO, now they are both currently in the Talented And Gifted programs at their schools. I am always beaming with pride when i think of them. I had no time to dress up and film myself. I was going to their appointments, their lessons, their needs were above mine. Meanwhile, I was a mess, i let my health go, i frequently felt burn-out but i did it all for my children and husband. I only took care of them that i got lost in the years. I had to sacrifice a lot from me not working but i worked very hard to do what i could with what i had to make sure they had every chance possible to reach their potential. People looked down on me as "just a mom" It kind of stung but i didnt care. I loved them tremendously and now i have two amazing well rounded smart teens. "Trad wife" is dangerous because women will think "i can do that" and when they see reality they will just become divorced and bitter.
I completely agree with the sacrifice it takes to raise well-rounded kids. I have 2 boys age 7& 11& 100% I put their needs before mine. That's just part of being a good mother. Kudos to all the hard work you did to be able to smile looking back& thinking of your children. ❤
Its your own fault if you let yourself go and put everything into your kids. A mother must be a little selfish and care for herself, there should be a boundary and its not wrong at all. The point of being a mother is not to lose yourself in it.. Or esle youre not a good example to your kids anyways.
@@zarikepunzulis4238 I think she was sharing her story, not asking for your advice. The topics of boundaries and knowing how to deal with burnout and self care are pretty recent in the mainstream. Her kids are teens now.

My mother is traditional wife, she has been physically emotionally abusive to me ever since I was a child. She also tried to murder me once by choking me. Remember just because a woman is a traditional wife doesn't mean she is a good woman. Women are defined to be good by their mindset and actions not by being modern/traditional I have learnt this lesson in life.

The whole trad thing is nothing but influencers making money by selling glamorous fibs to people. Everytime I see a one of these trad videos, it is someone all dolled up with no kids doing none of the real house work and are just doing some hobbies that show they have way too much time on their hands.
Yeah. And they’re doing it in clean homes, which leads me to believe that they’re also on top of the domestic labor. Why would you make videos of you cleaning toilets when you can make videos of you doing the fun part after the cleaning’s done? I don’t understand this take. It’s like y’all just wanna hate women that are free to do the things they wanna do. They married well enough to have the necessary time for making a home. Tell me you’re jealous without telling me you’re jealous.
There ARE cleaning and “get UNready with me” content. Women doing your laundry, folding and putting clothes away. Making up their beds. Washing dishes/ putting in dishwasher. Meal prepping for the week. Cleaning their bathrooms/ toilets. Cleaning up their children’s playroom and toys. Organizing their sofa’s pillows. Wiping down their counters. The lighting a candle once they’re done cleaning. Then shower, do their skin routine and go to bed afterwards. There is a content for everything. You can find them especially on RUclips. The algorithm it’s going to show you what she watched the most.
And lets talk about when your husband comes home frustrated and you somehow left something untidy, Get ready for "You are whole day at home! And cant do this much!...... (so on)"
These are 100% facts. My SiL is a housewife: SAHM of 3 kids under 9, homeschooling the older 2, very involved in her church. Most of her cooking is semi-homemade and her house wouldn’t pass a white glove test because she doesn’t have all day to spend cooking and cleaning, most of her day is spent on childcare. And no judgement, her kids are very well fed and cared for and she loves doing it. She’s living life on her terms and I wish her the best of luck with it. And she doesn’t judge me for being a working mom, which I have a feeling these “TikTok tradwife” women would do…
People should at least know what to expect and the risks they're taking before they get married and especially before they have kids. The subreddit called Regretful Parents is the saddest thing I've ever read. Young people believe lies and misinformation, then can't escape when they find out the truth.
Listen ! what’s worse? women going on TikTok and aspiring to promote the toxic version of feminism that comes with the uprise of an onlyfans or women aspiring to be tradwives? I think the tradwife trend is much healthier aspiration…a bit unrealistic for the average family in the USA ? Perhaps. but hey it’s a start on wanting to follow something better than pimping and hoeing all day😂… in other words this isn’t the WORST trend out there for women…
The key is three children. Yes, if a wife is going to homeschool, take care of the kids, clean the house, etc. for multiple children... those economics and outcomes make sense. That's tens of thousands a year for private schooling, after school day care, a part-time maid and part-time cook. The economics for that makes perfect sense, plus the better outcomes for the kids. It's also hard work -- lesson plans, tests, juggling activities, arranging stuff, cooking, cleaning, meal plans, maintaining social activities, etc. However, there is no point in 2024 to be a stay-at-home wife without kids. For a few hundred dollars a week, you can get a maid service to clean your house -- not that two adults typically make that much of a mess. A laundry service maybe another few hundred. Simple economics (even with taxes) says it is better to work even part-time and just pay someone to do that if the two of you can't.
I agree with Aba bout people wanting farms etc. As its that easy. I am in the process of doing so that at least i am 50% where i produce most my food intake. You have to know what soil is in your property, what seasons and veggies are in season and whats best for your state. If you want fruits guess what you are not gonna get fruits within a month. I planted blueberries and this takes 2-3 yrs for establishing and getting it to fruit..apples, oranges, peaches lordt anywhere 5-10 yrs. My rasberries and blackberries 1 yr and a bit and thats with constant care and its hard work. Don't get me started with fishing and having chickens, ducks and goats!!!
Since when chickens are hard? They grow fast, they start putting eggs fast. The only problem with chickens are predators. If you are in rural places and chickens can run through the whole farm, hawks are a big threat. If you keep them enclosed, foxes and other smaller predators are a threat. But if you put some fence type roof over areas they can roam, and fence sides of the area, chickens are super easy.
Most of these women wouldn't even last in an agricultural curriculum. I was in one throughout highschool and there was only one or two girls a part of it throughout the 5 years I took it. So yeah, if that tells you the statistics...
Making real food from scratch for your family is the most important thing on earth! Just don’t expect it to look like a magazine clip! Traditional motherhood looks like a beautiful tragedy! If you can’t afford this life’ move and downsize! Accept the lifestyle he can afford you with grace and thankfulness!!
As a stay at home mom of three (out of necessity between health issues & cost of daycare) and I just can’t wrap my head around this trad wife bs. I barely have time for anything between a 12, 11 & 4 month and that’s with my mom’s help. I am constantly cleaning, cooking (or breastfeeding), and taking one of our kids to his special needs program three days a week. Guys this ain’t a dream (everything is wonderful) life. I am constantly tired and have breakdowns throughout the week. And this is with a supportive husband and mother. Sure I get the kids together and make brownies and things (and teach them How to cook) but that’s not every day. I also balance our extremely tight budget. I guess this is the new trend now huh.
I grew up outside the USA and I am so surprised how much work American parents take on by themselves, without delegating some to the children. Like, I was shown how to start cleaning my room and wash dishes by about 7 yrs old and I could wash the bathroom & clean the floor about a year later. Also, I was so surprised that many of my mates, when I went to college in Atlanta, were not able to do the bare minimum of cleaning. So, my opinion is, if you're going to be a good traditional parent, start showing your children how to start doing things.
The only problem with this video is the person on the video NEVER claimed to be a Trad wife, in fact is known she is actually a working model. The internet hated that women bcuse she make cereal and oreos from scratch. NEVER Claimed anything in her videos.
Nara enjoys cooking from scratch and often talks about it in her videos. It's not a bad thing to want to bake and cook from scratch. I also cook from scratch, but never thought to make my pasta or bread. However, recently I've been reading the ingredients listed on processed foods and it has encouraged me to try making my own. This is especially important for me because I've been dealing with stomach issues due to processed foods. I wish I had time to plant my vegetables, but unfortunately, I work two jobs and don't have enough time. I do believe it's possible to add to your lifestyle and it's healthier for sure. I think it's great that Nara is inspiring others to cook from scratch. 😊❤
So true. In this one they're getting mad for no reason. She never said she was better than anyone. I'm a mom, work full time and cook from scratch and bake because I feel like it. If people were to criticize me saying "I think I'm better", that's them projecting. She never said that
I wish you the best with learning to bake your own bread! Don't get discouraged if your first few loaves don't live up to your dreams--it's a skill. Have you heard of the RUclipsr Bobby Parrish? He's a great resource for learning about the wholesome things you can still find in grocery stores, many of them at affordable prices. You might want to check him out. I don't agree with everything he espouses--he eats a paleo/keto diet--but his approach to food makes a lot of sense.

Yes to this! Cooking from scratch isn’t a tradwife thing. Alot of the ingredients in processed foods are completely unnecessary. Making your own food allows you to control the ingredients. Homemade is way better than store bought and it’s very rewarding! I wish you well in your journey!
My mom was a stay at home mom and she struggled heavily with depression. Her life revolved around us when we were children and it stole a lot of experiences from her and that’s not even including the fact that she was a teen parent. Glamorizing that lifestyle is frustrating to me because I grew up in a home where my mom was a “trad wife” and it wasn’t easy. We were fed and clothed of course but we didn’t get to do much cause we were living off of one income. I rarely even saw my dad cause he was in the military working all of the time or on deployment. Our home life was hell because of trauma and what not so maybe it’s different for others who didn’t have lots of trauma. Anyway, being a housewife is not easy unless your husband is rich and you have no kids. It’s easy to clean and cook for the household, I do it myself today but it’s so easy for me because I don’t have kids and the people I live with make decent money. At times I get depressed though because my entire being revolves around cleaning, yard work and cooking. I have no other aspirations to work towards so I’m stuck in a house all day scrubbing floors and doing the same mundane stuff every single day. It’s definitely a privilege to stay home and take care of the house but it can be extremely depressing especially when you have no life outside of home care.
Your mother was depressed because SHE DIDNT want that life. If a woman who actually does want to be a tradwife is forced to be a "girlboss" then that woman will become equally as depressed as your mother was.
Being a stay at home wife/mother takes sacrifices!! A lot of sacrifices. My husband and I didn't do fancy vacas, concerts, fancy cars and all the other stuff that folks clammer to. That was how we were able to pull it off with 1 income. I stuck to a strict budget and made sure there was money for any extras my husband wanted. Like I said we sacrificed A LOT to make it work. Most aren't willing to sacrifice creature comforts to do so. Our boys are grown and now we are enjoying our time together and reaping the rewards for it. 😁
I have stay home moms in my family and it was just like that. They didn’t go on vacations or didn’t spend on fancy things. You also have to cook food that is affordable. You can’t just have steak or whatever each nights sometimes it’s rice and beans
People will tell you "it's always been like this" but social media 100% amplifies things. You see the most extreme stuff because that rises to the top and people feel they need to compete with that.
It’s hilarious how out of touch these influencers can be to normal people. But it’s more amazing that people actually try to follow the lives of these influencers, not understanding that most of the time, those influencers are just putting on a show. It’s a sad cycle.
You've got to pick and choose where the time goes. When my kids were little I had more time than money, so I did make most foods from scratch. Not clothing. I even made cereal - granola (it's easy, fast, and made in bulk). I used a bread maker to make my homemade bread. But I also had a spouse that participated in housework and childcare. I grew up with a stay at home mom and she stayed awake til 2 and 3 am many many nights cleaning sewing baking bread. We were not rich by any means. It was cheaper to make your stuff at home in the 80s. It's possible to be a stay at home parent doing all that home labor, but yeah, you're probably not gonna hand make cocopuffs.
I’m a stay at mom in a normal relationship, I make my own bread but it’s because it’s cheaper because my husband has celiac disease so he can’t have regular bread I have to make gluten-free and if I buy a loaf of gluten-free bread it’s close to $10 so sometimes you can make time for things that are important, which in my house feeding my husband is important😂😂
Thank you! I think people don't understand that a lot of stay at home mom’s take joy in taking care of our families especially if it saves some money. You can plan ahead and do everything Nara does using recipes and your freezer. So much judgement and projection here
Growing up my mom baked bed every single school day. When she taught me to bake & I learnt how long ghe process takes I noped out of that sh@t real quick. I bake bread on special occasions as a treat.
Yup. I usually rock with aba and preach opinions but their out of touch here. Doing bread and cakes from home.. is not a rich thing is actually the opposite. It's a poor thing. With the money you will spend buying a trash cake from the supermarket, you buy the ingredients and make a better cake 10 times over. Also home made stuff, if you're a good cook, is always much healthier and tastier.
@@MwtcultureisSHE gluten free food is so expensive! And I want my husband to be able to eat everything that me and our kids eat so that means I have to make it but at the same time I love it because my husband gets to enjoy food that he doesn’t get to enjoy on a regular basis because of me, because of the love and effort I put into be in a stay at home mom and cooking and cleaning. My husband wouldn’t have that if it wasn’t me he wouldn’t be able to eat half the stuff he eats now and that’s because I love cooking and love putting a little bit of extra effort into it because it shows my husband and my children that I love them. This is way that I show love.
I made scratch tortillas yesterday. Why? Quality ingredients and none that we don't want.. I live 30mins from a store... and sometimes it's just a nice treat for the family when something is made special and fresh even if it means you didn't get through all the damn laundry. I grew up with just chickens. You know how mean those feathered assholes are? There’s always one that will peck the crap out of your shins. You can’t go anywhere for more than a few hours with livestock animals. Like no vacation. They need to be fed and watered. You need to keep them safe from predators. My mom grew tomatoes and other vegetables. That’s a lot of work. You gotta keep pests and birds from eating your food. Also cow’s milk from the teet isn’t like the milk from the carton. And then there is caring for the hooves of livestock. Ever seen infected hooves? It’s really gross. I mean, I’d have chickens again, but it’s work. And we just had 5.

I dont understand the extremes in either direction on this. My husband and i are fortunate enough that i could stay home and look after the children full time until they both went to school. We definitely made some choices to live a very simple life for me to do so, but it was a really lovely time. I really, really loved being home looking after the house and kids full time. The year before our youngest went to school I updated my vocational skills and i returned to work part time and as the kids grow older I will work more hours. My life is definitely more about my kids and I am not a career minded person, but the extra income is really good for our family and the security of having a skilled job is very reassuring. If the need ever arose i can pivot very quickly into working full time, and nobody knows if or when their situation will drastically change. And the thing is, my job directly relates to the skills i practiced as a stay at home mother. I enjoy my job and the money is good for my family. I dont know why the concept of making caring for your home and family your main focus and having a stable job to support that ( as opposed to a career) is such a difficult concept to figure out.
My mom was a traditional wife, full time at home with us (from time to time, because sometimes she worked outside home), everytime she dropped her job to stay home she got severely depressed. Sometimes she had a hard time waking up in the morning, lost, unattentive, unhappy, agressive etc. It was bad for her and it was bad for us and for my father as well. I decided to never fall for this BS, but I respect who chose to live like that. Life is a very personal nontransferable thing. Good luck. 👍 ps: when Aba said about going insane for taking care of kids all days... my mom used to beat the shit out of us with her belt as we were damn slaves! Pure anger and frustration.
Same thing happened to my mom. Quit her job to take care of the kids and got depressed. It's a lonely lifestyle. She always told me to go to college and get a career so I wouldn't have to live like her
@@sirekakhemai3254 The happiest moments of her life she was divorced, in her 40's and working like crazy. I don't judge it because I just want to see her happy.
PREACH! My mother also quit her job to take care of me after I reached my teen years (Since she believed she had to be at home when I was a teen so she could keep an eye on me) and GODDAMN I hated those years.. still traumatized by her being mad at me at all times, suspecting me of doing something fishy because she had nothing else to do after her corporate job.
My wife is traditional not the trad wife thing. She does have a massive garden I built her, crochet & sew, makes decorations, cooks and cleans. I mean she's Caribbean and was raised by her grandmother who could do all those things. But your completely correct most of them are time fillers. She did sewing & crochet for a hobby until I earned enough for her to stay at home. The garden is a time filler, the crochet & decoration stuff went from time filler to small business because she had the time. Cooking and cleaning she primarily once she started staying at home as well. All was because she had time and wasn't as tired from working. It does save us money and fun to do especially from her standpoint. The trend stuff is mainly for views obviously but some people are like that based on culture and upbringing. I was shocked by just how man people in the city crochet and garden once she start joining groups for tips and tricks. Being Ethiopian and Haitian I'm sure y'all know women who do as well just not for views.
Gardening is definitely a plus if it's vegetables. Most people I know now are starting to grow their own, get a few hens for eggs. Groceries are expensive now. Knitting, sewing and crocheting is useful too. It's trendy to have all these knitted afghans and blankets styled in homes. My grandmother taught me because they keep you warm. Good for you guys. Keep up the good life❤
Exactly! It’s cultural for a lot of people around the world. Americans are just not used to women choosing this lifestyle or even being good at it as most of them prioritize careers. I’m surprised that Aba and Preach didn’t see it from that perspective considering their Haitian and Ethiopian backgrounds.
Which are all fine and you have to have balance in your schedule in any work you do. I think the whole trad wife thing is showing all of the "fun" parts and not really the day to day work behind taking care of a home. It would be like just showing crochet & decoration and claiming you are a "trad wife" and none of the hard parts of being someone who takes care of a household.
You are very logical. Very rich society critique, this cringey guy with the glasses critiquing the video. These skills should be something people should know. It is crippling to rely on the store to feed yourself.
When my Nana, husband and Auntie move to Australia. She lived in a town where she lived on the outskirts in the middle of nowhere and it was hard to get stuff. Luckily she was a housewife and she used to cook everything from scratch. You couldn't get in your car and go down the shops. I asked her why she stopped doing these things. She said it was a lot of time and you are mostly run down all the time. She had four kids and she used to make it all breads, ginger ale, ice cream you name it she did it. When I grew up she was a plain old Nana that usually bought things from the shop. Unless it was dinner that was made from scratch. Breakfast was always toast or cereal. Lunch was always sandwiches and fruit with a cheeky snack. Simple stuff. My mom was a mixture of a housewife and a working wife which to me seems more insane and I have not heard much about these wifes. My mom would wake up super early to have a quick coffee start mountains of washing every single day. Hang all that out. Take care of the pets. Get us up as kids get us to Nana. Get herself to work 9 to 5. Get home. She never leaves any dishes on the sink doing them three to four times everyday, always swept the floor morning and night. My mom was a neat freak so it was constant housework and then Nana would bring us to her. She is still this way today and I'm worried that if she ever stops or gets sick she will have a mental breakdown. If you couldn't keep up to her standards, you were seen as messy and lazy. Plus she also took care of everything for my dad as in all the house bills because he was a full-time truck driver. Dad always had cooked meals, fresh clothes, mountains of fresh clothes, anything he needed she provided and when she hears that women don't look after their men she's like. How do you even get married? Why are you even together? What's the point? Why don't you look after him like he looks after you? People used to comment when they saw my dad's meals and say somebody loves you which he would smile. He had never in his whole life. Had a woman. Take good care of him. Women don't want to listen to the older women and how much it sucks. I mean you know how much it sucks but you don't want to hear the whole story from their mouths.
Absolutely dump her. The amount of spousal support he will pay her, especially if they have kids, is beyond scary. This doesn’t even include child support which is just a scary. The guy would end up unable to afford living in his parents’ basement.
When Aba googled the difference between trad wife and whatever and said there was no difference I knew what the difference was- children. Real traditional wives have children and that’s where there is no time left. Trad wives have social media instead. There’s nothing traditional about that.
I have a two year old and an infant. We hired some one who comes to our house, watched the kids, teaches them, basically a grandma to them. She even cooks and cleans a bit. Our house is a complete mess all the time. We barely have any time to ourselves. It's work, kids, eat, sleep every day. When one kid is sleeping, the other one is up. Where I do believe you can be a trad wife, but you have to understand what that means. I told my wife she could be one, but our life would be severely impacted. And I make 2/3 of the money for the household. Just got to be honest about it. That lady making cereal is probably loaded beyond belief. She has a cook, a nanny, a maid, some one to come in and do the lawn, etc. She probably doesn't even buy her own groceries. What she's posting is a fantasy.
My dad is a obgyn, my mom was a professor that quit it all to raise 5 kids. Her daily life was waking early to cook for all of us, be on our ass to clean all day which no kid really does so she does all that too. Then takes us to school, picks us up from school then drove each of the 5 kids to a different city for Violin/piano/dance/wrestling whatever that kids hobby was. Then cook dinner and clean a larger than average house. And start it all again the next day. Not to mention the drama and stress of dealing with 5 kids school lives, girlfriends and bullying all that crap. She's the number 1 person to go to to get advice, dad is always gone.
I hate to type more but another point, the more money you have the more shit she needs to look after day by day. We had a pool that my mom spent so much time trying to shock and keep clean. We had a hottub, do you know how much time a hottub takes for maintenance and care? 5 kids laundry to do daily. The more I think the more shit a remember her doing. She had no hobbies besides politics and reading in her quiet moments. She sacrificed so much to raise us everyday.
"dad is always gone." Besides the danger women put themselves and their kids in by being totally dependent on their husbands, this is the other thing I find distasteful about "trad" life. These same people who advocate for "trad" life will go on and on about how present fathers are SO important in kids' lives, yet simultaneously advocate for a domestic arrangement that requires dad to be gone more often than not- and the more people he has to support, the more he's gonna have to work. Dad may as well be a stranger to the kids, and mom may as well be a single mother.
To bring up a point about the "trad" wife, what would the husbands and fathers be willing to give? When I see people in the red pill manosphere space advocating for it will they put a spending limit on the wife when it comes to the clothes or hair and nail appointments
Real talk you know how it’s fake/performative? Because it always starts with “my toddler asked for…” cereal, PB&J, whatever. And then they continue to spend FOUR HOURS making it from scratch. In that time, their toddler has had breakfast (store bought cereal) AND lunch (store bought PB&J). It’s the equivalent of RUclipsrs saying “so many of you asked for me to…” Nah, it’s just your idea for today’s content. And to tell your husband you want to become a trad wife is no different than saying, “I want to quit my job and become a TikToker.” It’s the same thing, it’s just the laziest way to look like a glamorous influencer. She’s still gonna have to work. She’s gotta get that content out. No one is choosing the trad wife life, inspired by TikTok, without planning TO BE on TikTok.
Think about it: The difference between a trad wife and a housewife is that the trad wife has a job on top of taking care of the home. Bitch I have a job on top of taking care of my home. I’m a trad wife. Hooray.
I'm not a tradwife, I do work part time because we have small children and don't want to pay ridiculous daycare prices. Now, it is super easy to make bread, the easiest in fact. You just weigh out two thing, throw them in the mixer and it will do the work. Then you cover it and put it away and it just proofs, all by itself. You come back and smooth it again or shape it, takes a minute, then cover it and it sits again. Once it's proofed enough you warm up the oven and throw it in. Then it just bakes, and tada! You got fresh bread. Actual work time is maybe 5 minutes. Most if the time is spent waiting. And some bread is cold proof, so it proofs at night when you sleep. Easy peasy. Also, if you spend most of day at home you are cleaning in-between doing things with kids. Also easy and it always stays clean. Do small loads of laundry every day and fold it while kids are getting ready for bed. It can be done. You don't have to be trad, you don't have to abandon your career and lose your relevant skills, and you can contribute to your household savings. Keep your family goals in mind and do what is best for your family
I have a pretty big garden for living in a residential area; I grow strawberries, peas, blackberries, raspberries, peppers, potatoes, cucumbers, beats, carrots and various herbs and flowers. I will say that unless you own a lot of land, have a lot of money, and a lot of help you cannot build a farm, and you definitely cannot sustain off a garden. It is supplementary at best. Even when I visited my friends farm in Italy and we had fresh pasta we had to walk like 5 miles around town to pick up other items like bread and herbs from the store and homemade wine and cheese from other locals, it took all day to get a bowl of pasta lol. You gotta do it because you love it and not because you expect to skip out on grocery shopping. People need to work towards community gardens and food sharing anyways as it’s a more productive bounty, but it doesn’t get you tiktok followers I guess
They never cover the labour that comes from things in the house breaking/ needing to be replaced/ serviced etc. that is a full time job. You fix one thing, the next thing breaks
That's a bit of an exaggeration. Homes need maintenance, but it's not constant. However, now that you mention it, my bathroom faucet is almost 55 years old, and it could really use replacing...
Full time job? No. It's a home, not a construction site. If things break so often, you need a new home or full renovations. Are you trying to create a tradhusband trend? 😂
Don't fall for it guys, it's time to switch things up and trick men into thinking they're marriage material, let them stay strong and independant. You're a boss babes, fine You've got OF fine Don't need anyone fine Let's see where that goes 😂
@@franciskeys9810 when you own a home and the roof needs doing, appliances need replacing and the boiler goes (as luck would have it pretty much at the same time), it takes time and you find yourself going to the office for a break!
Nara Smith does not call herself a "trad wife." Other people are the ones labelling her as that. She is a model and she said in one of her videos that she just loves cooking for her husband and her children because that is the way she shows her love to them. Not everyone who uploads cooking videos online is a Tradwife. Some people just love cooking and sharing recipes with others.
@@netaniamullingsBecause cooking for family=tradwife behavior for a woman. Damned if you work. Damned of you stay home. Damned if you found a way to do both.
My gripe isn't with Nara Smith herself, but conservatives try to use women like this to suggest that all women should just stay at home and be in the kitchen lol. Let women have goals and dreams and the freedom to pursue them. Don't just act like every women should just stay in the kitchen and give up on life.
@@netaniamullings Yup. It's really annoying because she has said many times that she does not like that label being used for her. She just loves cooking and she makes many of her recipes from scratch because of her health condition. She has to monitor what she puts into her body. But apparently a woman sharing recipes with her followers is now defined as a Trad wife. 🤦🏻♀
Yh, she's stated several times that she isn't a trad wife or housewife. She's a model so she has the time and most importantly the money to be able to keep up this lifestyle.
No shade to ya’ll, but I don’t think Nara Smith was the right example. She never claimed to be a “Trad Wife” (I hate that term and the fact that we name everything nowadays, btw), I think she truly just loves cooking and showcases that.
Whats sad is that she mostly do these recipes because she have skin issues, so she needs to watch every ingredients. I remember how she was posting a lot of féministe things and would reply to every comments yet people want to portray her so badly as a bigoted fundie just because she married young and says she believe in God. The only good thing i wish to her is that this whole mess will make her go viral and she can handle it ( there is no bad publicity when you are in the entrainement industry).
I think people are assuming and blowing it up into nothing. An from alot of LGBTQ people or just angry lonely feminists. They don't know her at all an she hasn't made videos showing or telling its what she's about......I think these weirdos who are triggered are just scared
this!! She should not be an example to promote that story. She is an inspiration. They tripping for no reason cause she never once said that. The reaction man literally pulled one of her videos and said this is what a "tradwife" is.
Exactly 😂 they're getting mad for no reason on this one. She never told people's to do anything I'm a mom and work full time. I make pasta, bread, etc. i love cooking. They act like parents don't spend hours on their phones instead of doing things. To each their own. Girl wanna baje a pie, let her bake a freakin pie. Why are they so mad😂 of course they're recording baking and not vacuuming. That is boring as hell. Nobody is saying they are better, people are projecting big time
To be fair they show the cooking thing because unlike other household chores people really like watching others cook. There are thousands of videos and multiple tv channels dedicated to it. It also does not take a lot of "your time" to make something like bread and it is 10X better then store bread and costs almost nothing and makes the house smell amazing. 90% of the time making bread is it rising and baking while you are free to do whatever else you wish. Once you bake your own bread and other items like that a few times you will get hooked. It literally takes less "time" than watching a youtube video.
There is a place for this and it is possible. Both my husband and I are millennials and we bought our house back in 2016 while in our mid 20's. We grinded at "working class" jobs for 10 years until we saved up and built equity in our house. Then we both quit when we had a several months worth of expenses saved up. He now has his own business and works 3 days a week. I now work part time ( around 20-30) hours per week. So I can transition us into homesteading. I cook and bake for my husband regularly from scratch and take care of most of the house chores but we to team up with it on occasion. We have chickens, a fish pond and sever crops and fruit trees growing on our property. I'm not a tradwife but it's awesome. I wouldn't go back to 9-5 if they offered me double. You can do it. But it takes discipline and living below your means and great cooperation with your partner.
When my kids were tiny and I got to stay home I loved keeping the house looking perfect and making everything from scratch and I am grateful no one put me down for it back then.
I’m a working mom and I make my own sourdough bread. I find the bread in the stores in Canada gross and the bakery sells a loaf $8. I make 2 loafs the same quality for $1. Once you know how to make it, it becomes easy but there is a learning curve with it for sure. I’m not next to my dough while it rests, I do other things. Making sourdough has been a past time for a lot of people since Covid. Not just tradwife.
My grandma had a farm and it's not all that. Farm animals come with a lot of 💩💩💩. You will be shoveling it! You have to tend to the crops etc. it is not glamorous or whimsical. Now I say if you are financially able to be a SAH wife then cool, but there is no shame in working. Being a SAH wife and mom can be HARD! I did it for a while and I was so happy when I graduated college and went back to work. It was challenging. Would I do it again? Idk. If I do, then I need to really have my crud together. I say he needs to make his thoughts known and if that's what she really wants, cancel the wedding. Edit: And she better not make not 1 thing out of the box, it better all be from scratch.
True. Even if its just 1 cow, few chickens and few rabbits. SO MUCH work. Especially in summer to make that grass into hay and store it. And all them gardens, all those rows of potatoes, carrots, beats, etc. + greenhouse. ... and if you are some of those corn and grain farmers, damn, that more work.
TikTok teaches women that being a tradwife is relaxing and glamorous, but it really isn't. Imagine doing absolutely everything in the house. That sounds exhausting. I imagine these women would learn quickly that it's not a glamorous task and would desire time to work and enjoy hobbies.
So… you think it’s somehow more enjoyable to put your effort into some business that doesn’t give half a salted shit about you than to put that energy into your own home and family? You’re brainwashed. Corporatism got you BAD.
How does working a corporate career that ultimately doesn’t care whether you live or die sound more appealing to you than putting the same amount of effort into your home and family?
@@BasedHyperborean Not every job is a corporate career. But yes, having a life outside of the house is 100% much more fulfilling than being a slave to cleaning and cooking. Plus you'll never depend financially on anyone else. I hope this comment is just you joking?
I have lived on a farm all my life. It's work! A lot of work. Most of these people that "dream" of having a farm really don't understand that it's hard, you get really dirty and never have a day off. You clean up after animals at least twice a day, you feed and water them at least twice a day. There's upkeep and maintenance on fences, gates, barns, stables etc. Then there's the crops, that's everyday watering and weeding, keeping animals and insects out of it etc. Most farmers I know, including myself and husband also have other jobs. Farming is not for the lazy or soft hearted either.
I've got an almost 4 year old and an almost 5 month old, and I'm a stay at home mom. My 5 month old is EBF too. Just to give an idea of everything I've got on my plate. I've recently started baking my own bread. It really isn't that much work. The really simple bread recipe I've been doing is only like 30-40 minutes of actual work and the rest is just waiting. It's so worth it because it tastes so much better than any bread I've gotten from the store and I know what's in it. I agree that making cereal seems a little extra. At least, if you're doing single servings every morning. I could see making a big batch on a Sunday or something.
My wife told me she wanted to be a housewife before we got married. We’ve never taken a vacation. After twenty-three years of marriage, we were just able to put a down payment on a house. We still can’t afford a car but maybe able to buy one in a year or two. If we go out to eat, it’s almost always as a family. I think maybe we’ve had fewer than twenty date nights. The only time my wife and I went anywhere only was when I had an overnight business trip and paid for my wife’s expenses. If you want any kind of other leisure in your life, then having a single income marriage isn’t viable.
I'm a housewife (some have called me a tradwife but I don't say that) I am incredibly privileged to be able to be at home with the kids (we have 7 in total, 4 still young and at home while the older ones have moved out) and have a husband who works hard outside of the home but, for example, I've only just sat down to have a coffee and watch this video. It is 10.15am. I have been up since 5 and have only just stopped doing all the morning work ( kids to school, morning chores for them, fed the animals, cleaned all bedrooms and bathrooms, 3 loads of laundry done and put away, dinner prepped, every room vacuumed and mopped etc etc) It is hard nonstop work. We dont live extravagantly- we have takeout/dinners only on celebrations such as birthdays, we have 1 vehicle, I thrift everything and budget weekly to the penny. There is no glamor, no waste, but also no extra time. I am incredibly blessed to live this life but I dont relate at all to these women who have time even to do hair and makeup every day 😂 I manage to make myself presentable by lunchtime if I'm lucky. There is no shame being a housewife and I think these women are embarrassed to be one so have to use the tradwife title and show an unrealistic life?
The delusion on Social Media is crazy. Some people are consuming content without thinking about what they are taking in and how it applies/doesn't apply to their scenario.🙄
I am a woman and want my own farm, but that's because I work with farm animals and got a diploma in animal management. Owning animals is not easy. It can be fun and rewarding, but theres a lot of work that goes into it. For example, everyday I have to muck out the goats stables and alpacas and the sheeps paddocks, prepare feed that is required for the sex and age of each individual animal. I have to groom them to make sure they have no parasites, do daily visual and prefferably physical health checks. I have to be aware of my surroundings to avoid, or prevent being headbutted by a ram. We have a hornless (luckily) ram named Terry, and i had to watch, and eventually just caught him in time, as he attempted to ram me. Luckily i caught him just in time so all i got was a little nudge. Also, cows are notoriously know for killing more people yearly then shark's, so yeah. Tip: do not stand behind alpacas, they will and can kick you. A friend of mine was kicked. Plus the amount of healthy and saftey regulations, use animal safe cleaners, appropriate bedding and housing, etc. Not easy at all.
I’m the same I’ve grown up with farms and gardening my entire life. Im married now and stay at home and I just have a small tiny patch of grass for my garden, no fancy shenanigans, just a genuine desire for outdoors and practicing self-sufficiency in little ways
On my grandparent's farm we had a blue ribbon bull and he was ORNERY! If you got within 10 yards of him he went buckwild. But he LOVED my auntie. She could walk up and pat his face and stand with her back to him and he'd rest his head on her shoulder like the most docile baby. But only her.
I can only imagine the effort required, good on you and shout out to Terry! My sister has an Honours in agriculture and I studied (still do, in my off time) biology, physics and chemistry. We have a very good understanding of what it takes to raise livestock and cultivate crops. From the anatomy and requirements of the plants and animals, to the climate and space required, to the nutrients in the soil. I'd love to have the opportunity of living the life you do. I know it will be inexplicably difficult, but so, so worth it.
In her defense: I work in agriculture. Even with financial ups and downs and lack of "technology" (city level high speed internet, etc.) , the happiest people I know, BY FAR, are farmers with traditional households. The more "connected" you are, the less connected you are to the plants and animals that sustain you. If you're a young person who's never worked on a farm, i implore you to please give it a shot. Everyday you get a feeling of accomplishment. I feel like accomplishment is something a lot of folks are lacking and is causing them to be unhappy.
Guys I'm a mom, wife, bellydancer and teacher. I have chickens and I make bread. American life has f#%%^ you in the head. You can still cook and work and keep livestock.
To be fair, my mom worked a 9-5 plus another job & still found time to bake fresh bread. Not because it was “performative” or whatever, it was because her mother baked fresh bread & she enjoyed it. Calling it performative is like saying “they’re only making content to get views!” Obviously she’ll turn her kitchen into a “set” before filming in it. I agree there’s tons of women who want to trad for aesthetics only. & not everyone is built for it. But baking bread isn’t some wildly outrageous task that normal people don’t have time for. Same with Pasta.
yes, I also disagree with that comment that people baked cakes in fifties only to show off. No, people baked because it was really the only way to get cake. Plus they were expensive and hard to get (might depend on the country). and even in current times, when my girflriend bakes me a cake, it tastes way better than that shit from bakeries. It's not oversugarry, not over greasy. It's just normal simple cake, but at the same time it makes it the best cake. Plus anything fresh from the oven tastes better than any cold cake. It doesn't mean I only eat home baked cakes, but that means they are my favourite.
@@Ripside2it could’ve been just the story to show her cereal recipe. How do you know she doesn’t do this in batches and keep in containers? Made from scratch doesn’t mean it has to be made the day of.
@@a.r.mproductions5616she literally said “this morning i asked my toddlers what they wanted to eat and they said cereal so i started right away” so yeah, maybe give the mental gymnastics a rest by trying to make up a whole new story completely different from what she actually said herself
They are so mad for no reason really. Like I commented in others, like parents are not spending hours on their phones doing nothing and then they project onto others who like to craft. Oh the horror
I’m a SAHM we have four kids total. I got married at 22 now 28. We have three together but I’m raising his 11-year-old too any woman who thinks that being a “trad,” wife is gonna be much easier has lost her damn mind. I’m a navy vet and my job now is more work someways than being in the Navy was I wouldn’t trade it for me. It’s worth it. But I work very very hard and I do have a garden and I do grow some of the stuff that we eat, and I’m also in the suburbs. You can’t expect to be a wipe overnight leave your comfort zone, and then start farming without even knowing basics first. What ALOT of women are DELULU in this way it’s just different bc what they think they want and ACTUALLY putting in the work to do and teaching themselves isn’t as easy as they thing. I’ve NEVER 😂referring to myself as a tradwife lol but I’m huge on my faith. That’s why I do what I do but it hasn’t been without a cost. I’m usually the last one to go to sleep and my husband who’s also in the navy has been deployed every single year while I either pregnant or just had a baby. I’ve done it alone for a few years now pretty young and inexperienced in child rearing but shoot. I was created for this bc I KNOW I was when I worked still. 9-5 wasn’t for me and I often broke down. Just do t equate a different job with being easier. We ALLLLL have to work in life no MATTER what we do. I’ll also add I have no family where I live and although they visit a lot to come help etc when I say I’ve done it alone I really mean that. No ONE is coming to pat you on the back and hang up an award for you saying best stay at home mother and wife ever… so IF a woman is very set in her modern ways it’s going to be a nightmare for her at first bc she will not get that same validation she would get in the work world. I was like 25/6 maybe 🤔 when I came home but remember I was married young and pregnant the OLDER she is and stuck in her ways the harder this transition would be. I’m bold enough to be honest about it. Like I said most are delulu. Try out a garden balcony and making your own deodorant and toothpaste and come and tell me you StILL really want a slower old fashioned lifestyle. But don’t think it won’t be hard on your body sometimes. It IS worth it for me. But I’ve taught myself a lot prayed and fasted about how I can be better and had to have some hard talks w myself. If you aren’t ready for that then no sis it’s not for you. 😂also I hate that 50-60s clothing type style.
I'm so glad someone speaking out on this. Because it used to make me feel a certain kind of way! 😅 I mean married 11 years and got 3 children, smallest child is five months...I literally cook every single day. I meal prep, pack lunches, laundry ect... I have a RUclips channel but it's literally nothing to brag about, And I just don't have the time to even make videos, or doing anything really, especially having the third child. I literally started feeling some kind of way because I never had time to be on my youtube creating content because I was busy living my life and taken care of my family. I was like how the hell are these Women taking care of a house, 3 or 4 and able to look immaculate. And do the youtube? I was really good into my feelings trying to figure out how they were able to do it all. And then it occurred to me that it was all bullshit! 😂😂😂😂💀 This is coming from a person that actually does make her bread from scratch And cook most of all my meals from scratch🙋🏾♀️.... I literally just did Easter for my family. The first time ever, made my own chocolates, hard candies. And signature honeyed ham with mashed potatoes, asparagus and set up the Easter hunt, decorated the front and backyard Easter theme and half way through, dressed up as the Easter bunny to deliver the Easter basketss to my children..... I don't think I will be doing that again anytime soon! 😭❤
You aren't alone. My aunt is like you, married, 3 kids, works, and does household stuff, including homemade bread and stuff like that. She definitely doesn't have time to record, edit, and post videos. You're good, the "influencers" are fronting and selling a dream. Keep up you're great work, actually loving and caring for your kids
It seems to me like someone watched too many episodes of Mad Men and just decided to "bring back" those "tradwives" but what they forgot is that those wives were married to RICH MEN!

That woman making cereal reminded me of the response i would have of that scenario played it and i was a kid: I'd probably throw a tantrum because we had to wait hours for cereal 😂 like, breakfast is over. Plus we have school, so who's gonna eat that cereal!?!?
I was thinking the same thing... I have a 2.5 year old... she says she wants cereal, no way she's going to be in a great mood for an hour while I hand make it. Kid is HUNGRY! Tantrums would 100% be happening while I get dolled up in a dress and full make up then make cereal from scratch. No thank you!

I was one of the women who thought she wanted a farm. Plant and raise my own food. We bought a house with a decent garden 2 years ago and created a vegetable garden. The harvest failed the 2nd year and I was fed up. But even before that, my mom had to help me maintain this and ended up doing most of the work.. it is her hobby but not mine, apparently. Edit: I wasn't fed up because of the failed harvest, although that didn't help. But the year round maintenance was not my thing. Being outside in the cold, pouring rain for example.
@@creativevisiongaming what? Greenhouse is only for some specific plants or the things someone wants to harvest earlier (for example, some people plant cucumbers both in greenhouse and outside. In greenhouse you can plant earlier, but outside you can plant more. Planting in greenhouse allows to have first edible vegetables sooner). However, almost everything else goes outside: carrots, onions, potatoes, garlic, etc. Almost everything is planted in the cold (5-15c, potentially raining or at least wet). And often harvested in the same cold. Of course, temperature varies based on the country one lives in. In hot countries, there's probably possible multiple harvests in one year while in countries with winter, only a single harvest.
@creativevisiongaming the first year we had plenty of vegetables to harvest. And we can't get a permit to place a (small) greenhouse anyway. My herbs and fruits (black berries and strawberries) are doing great by the way. Just not much luck with the veggies. I just can't be bothered.
@MarieNeco I really don't want to, I have other hobbies. I don't have time either, taking care of our son and our 10+ pets (not for eating lol). And we can just buy veggies. I'll plant some fruit trees, but that's it.
Ngl after seeing Nara’s videos it made me want to try making somethings from scratch 😂 I’ve never really been into cooking / baking but it definitely has made me found the joy in it
Those women aren't trad wives they are content creators. There's a very big difference. I have a traditional marriage where my husband works and I take care of the home ( kids are grown now so my job is much easier) BUT my husband and I agreed to this BEFORE we married, check in often to make sure we are both happy with the way we do it, and he makes trad husband money ( we are not rich but he has a blue collar job that pays well and cost of living here isn't as high as other places) When I make things from scratch like that its because I DO have the time now that the kids are grown, but I have never ever made cereal from scratch. That being said it's not that difficult when you have kids as long as you don't let them be lazy and not clean up after themselves. My kids had daily chores as well as assigned chores every Saturday for deep cleaning day. If they ever came to be saying they were bored they were handed a rag or laundry.

the lady making the cereal said herself that making it from scratch is not something she does on a regular basis. also, she's not a SAHM she is a working model, including her husband. She is not an exact example for a trad wife. I'm a SAHM. when i got married my husband and I discussed what would work best for our family. it was financially smarter for me to stay home with our three small kids. (we had them one right after the other) even if i worked we would never be able to afford childcare. Childcare is a friggin mortgage just for ONE kid. also, we're incredibly isolated from family so we couldn't get outside help with the kids. I do think "trad life" is glamorized because you will not want to make every meal from scratch. let be real. Being a SAHM (Trad Wife/Mom) is a privilege and not everyone has the opportunity to do it, but it does come with a lot of sacrifices and challenges. Emotional challenges, social isolation, loss of personal time and forgetting to do self-care. It is not the easy way out and shouldn't be glamorized as one. It is doable but it's nowhere near as pretty as the model makes it out to be.

Sure its WAY better and I can do it flawlessly, but shit, you know how much effort goes into that, long prep, cook time, yadayada I dont need to explain it to a fellow italiano, same with handmade pasta, Can make somewhat quick handmade pasta that isn't great looking on a plate to save time but im just gonna use Cellentani for everything cause its good enough.

which these women obviously lack seeing as they only want to be trad-wives to NOT do work
I did all that successfully for a few years, it's HARD. i enjoyed it thoroughly. I went back to work. Cleaning houses. Lol

Dear men, this not good at all. We forget that trad wives had a support system in small villages back in the day. Group of families worked together as a collective bigger family helping each other out.
Times have changed, communities have been replaced by individualism and therefore the support structure is no longer there.

Gardening is the way to go, especially when inflation is driving the price of everything up.

Agreed
Yea Idk why people against the traditional wife movement keep using her as an example. She isnt even pushing the movement. They need to focus on the extremist who are out right saying the lifestyle is the only way and bashing those who dont agree. Them and the simple minded people who thinks being a traditional house whatever wife is all black and white are the problem
What makes sense is if the women try it out for a few weeks (probably by first using their vacation days) before committing to it.
My wife is a traditional wife, we’ve been married for 15 yrs. I can assure you there is no way she’s making cereal from scratch. She is genuinely way too busy for that nonsense. She does occasionally make bread and tortillas though
Well they are more essential, cereal from scratch is a waste of time
Props for those tortillas. I made them from scratch and that’s a lot of work for a couple seconds of pleasure.

Tag "Trad" to anything and its usually a sure-fire trip to cringe city (trad-wife, trad-cath, etc) 😅
That is my life RIGHTS NOW exactly how you described without farming, 2 kids only husband works ALWAYS CLEANING especially when I cook OMG never ending dishes 😩😩😩😩
Yeah no, housework won't take you 18h a day dude. Everything is automated now, She'll be done in a few hours lol

I know right? It literally takes me 20 minutes to put a pie together. I make pie crust in bulk and freeze it.
@@JL-fq5ynsame with pasta, they are wild in this one.
It's really the cereal that's under scrutiny but it also depends how many kids you have and how much structure you raised them with
They think it takes an obscene amount of time because they've never done it.
If a home is not well maintained it takes longer to work on it.
No offense though, I'm talking about the comment section in general too
@@Ryan-cb1ei They will quickly learn being a SAHM is nowhere near being easy. You are your children's everything. And you wear many hats. I am raising 5 as a at home mom and the first 4 years of marriage we had 3. You really do need a strong support system because it wears you down physically and mentally at times. I had my mom and mother n law who was checking on me because they were states away. They would visit from time to time, but they still had lives and had to work as well. My husband was out building for the family so time was limited there and I understood that. It is a lot of work with little accolades, because it's work. I feel I was blessed to be able to do this. My oldest 2 are now in college, and I have a 17, 9 and 4 year old. I didn't have time to make cereal homemade or fresh pasta. I was to tired from nursing or changing diapers and making sure my house and children were presentable. When I had free time when everyone slept, I showered or slept.

By the looks of her recipes it seemed it was pretty much just cookie crisp and reeses peanut butter style "cereal"so i dunno why she was acting like it was some innovative thing she was doing 😅
All she had to do was say she was bored because the maids did all the housework and child rearing already
At some point having one person stay home is a financial loss. Once the kids are in school it makes no sense to stay home.

And she doesn’t judge me for being a working mom, which I have a feeling these “TikTok tradwife” women would do…
Wow TikTok is crazy
Homeschooling? Yeah ur trash
Sure I get the kids together and make brownies and things (and teach them
How to cook) but that’s not every day. I also balance our extremely tight budget. I guess this is the new trend now huh.
I know how you feel. Especially when you have kids. Some people have to live in reality and not take face value from TikTok.

We've all become enamored of buying things. If we actually didn't live above our means, women would be able to stay home and care for a family.
Thank you for your service. And that husband better damn sure appreciate the room you made for him in the shoestring.
I have stay home moms in my family and it was just like that. They didn’t go on vacations or didn’t spend on fancy things. You also have to cook food that is affordable. You can’t just have steak or whatever each nights sometimes it’s rice and beans

I'm a 33yr American, but the modern day obsession with money is crazy! It wasn't this bad before social media took over.
It's crazy!
The love of money is the root of all evil, and it's never been more apparent than it is right now.
Girl people always wanted money 😂
@wardodoo Women aren't clamoring over our resources because of the healthcare system. Stop it.
People will tell you "it's always been like this" but social media 100% amplifies things. You see the most extreme stuff because that rises to the top and people feel they need to compete with that.
Idk I remember the obsession for Sweet 16 on MTV. Britney spears and Christina Aguilera fans (that I've met) were very materialistic.
It’s hilarious how out of touch these influencers can be to normal people. But it’s more amazing that people actually try to follow the lives of these influencers, not understanding that most of the time, those influencers are just putting on a show. It’s a sad cycle.
Why would they be in touch with people when they’re making millions? It’s the responsibility of the viewers to understand that.

It's a love language❤

She wants a farm while I can barely keep a houseplant alive, let alone have a farm.
She wants to build a farm while we are struggling to pay rent

Dumb argument. If you are serious about it you can learn.
Real
Yeah.. Aba said that.
That’s why you learn with the time she has at home
She always told me to go to college and get a career so I wouldn't have to live like her
Yep shit is crazy
@@sirekakhemai3254 The happiest moments of her life she was divorced, in her 40's and working like crazy. I don't judge it because I just want to see her happy.

Is she chained or caged?
I would have just told her "No, honey. We can't afford to entertain one of your phases"
"dad is always gone."
Besides the danger women put themselves and their kids in by being totally dependent on their husbands, this is the other thing I find distasteful about "trad" life.
Dad was gone because he was bringing that doctor money for mommy to always be there for you
To be fair that woman stated it was a one off (to make a video) and not a daily thing. He's took it out of context to bash her.

Once you know how to make it, it becomes easy but there is a learning curve with it for sure. I’m not next to my dough while it rests, I do other things.

@@Smo-re9chThat sounds amazing. Have you tried your hand at fruits, veggies, herbs, etc.?
Animals are sentient beings with lives and interests of their own, they are not ours to use and abuse as we see fit. In an age where fruit, vegetables, grains, and legumes are abundant 24/7, all year round, there is absolutely no excuse to kill or pay for an animal to be killed on our behalf for reasons of convenience, taste, tradition, or habit. The only time anyone should ever kill an animal is if it's absolutely necessary for their survival; if it's not a survival scenario, leave them alone!
"And all of a sudden, you think you are the queen of animals and vegetables" 🤣🤣🤣
In her defense:
I work in agriculture.
Home made bread is dough-p. I think the simple stuff everyone should give it a go. But cereal?! That's a madness.
@@gryhm2857 I agree with the cereal. But you know she is making money with these videos. So, technically she's earning.
@seekthetruthfindit6879 also true, but I'd love to know if they're edible if she's "teaching" others how to do it 😂
❤
Are you American? Do you get what it's like?
Cereal though?!!! Its performative because that cereal took at LEAST an hour and a half to make bake and cool, those kids would have starved lol.
Jez...don't burn out my girl. Your fam needs you whole. That's the best gift you can give them
You aren't alone.
Honestly why would you need someone to talk about it ? Trad wives is a niche, women who don't do traditional things is literally the norm.
I hope your getting some side d. If you're not you are probably in the minority.
It's their life, if you feel a certain way seeing women do other things or more than you, than you need help.
It seems to me like someone watched too many episodes of Mad Men and just decided to "bring back" those "tradwives" but what they forgot is that those wives were married to RICH MEN!
And they had nannies
And were on prescription drugs lmao
Don't leave out inflation. The cost of living was lower and the wages were more realistic for it to be possible, even for those who weren't rich.
And they got cheated on 6 times an episode
@@milkitea669 "And were on prescription drugs lmao"
Valium was so commonly used by housewives that it became known as "mommy's little helper." The abuse of alcohol and amphetamines among housewives was also quite prevalent in those days.
😂
I mean it’s for a video, obviously you make the cereal the day before and then eat it for breakfast.
@@rebeccashields9626 so what do you eat the day you're making the cereal? I eat cereal everyday as a child

My FAVOURITE episode of Preach. He is PREACHING in the purest sense. His FURY at this nonsense is magic, he's not trying to be funny in this at all which makes him UNBELIEVABLY FUNNY to me.
Outside? You probably needed a greenhouse
Try again
@MarieNeco I really don't want to, I have other hobbies. I don't have time either, taking care of our son and our 10+ pets (not for eating lol). And we can just buy veggies. I'll plant some fruit trees, but that's it.
Ngl after seeing Nara’s videos it made me want to try making somethings from scratch 😂 I’ve never really been into cooking / baking but it definitely has made me found the joy in it
Try it 😁
You should try it. Once you do, you’ll find out it’s a pretty easy skill to work on. 😊
I definitely will 🥰
Those women aren't trad wives they are content creators.
I am italian, and i don't understand a lot about american. The First thing they Always taught me was to bust my ass for stuff. When It comes to Money i started working in the shoes field. Started with 400€ per month, living with my parents, and i climbed and changed 3 Jobs and now, 2 and a half years later, i am paid 1600€ per month and in the next year i could be a supervisor. I want to have my own business One day but i Always started from the bottom, there Is no shortcut in this. I don't know why so many people are trying to cut corners in every way possible.
the lady making the cereal said herself that making it from scratch is not something she does on a regular basis. also, she's not a SAHM she is a working model, including her husband.
I agree with you and I want my wife to stay home with the kids before they go to school. But the question is did you guys save a lot back when you were working. Also how much of this is women being sick and tired of boss girl work feminism.
@@houseofhas9355 we saved no money. we had no money lol we got married young and neither of us we're established in a career. we were (and still are) paycheck to paycheck but me staying home allowed us to budget. I like numbers so we made it work. Took a lot of effort and restraint but made it work. Maybe we were one of the lucky ones. Though I did not have a traditional job I always had a side hustle. Not making big bucks but extra cash just in case.
I do think that millennial women are kind of over "I don't need no man" mantra. Since it forcefully shoved down our throats growing up and it's really not everything it's cracked up to be.
